Binghi Station surrendered to the ravaging bush fires of 2019, however, after this devastation came some much needed rainfall which brought hope; the creation of new life in the form of rich, vibrant green country not seen since the 1980’s. You can explore endlessly on this raw outback property. Discover secret hideouts, come and enjoy a swim under our flowing waterfall (for those brave enough to during the winter months!) and simply relax and soak in pure wildlife beneath a million stars in the night sky. Binghi Station is designed for the 4x4 enthusiasts. In other words we strongly recommend access by 4WD only as the entry 6klm driveway is very rugged and bumpy in most places due to heavy rain fall past 12 months. Please ask for more details if necessary should you have any concerns based on your equipment. Its an ongoing maintenance. Its the 4x4 adventure. We would rather talk it down than up:-) Currently we do not recommend SUV AWD type cars due to there lower profile and vulnerability to bumps and ruts. It is doable many do it all however about driver confidence and add another upto 2hours to trip :-) We recommend parking up the top driveway and having a preplanned lift down. BE WARNED The driveway and some tracks are rough suited for 4x4 adventure enthusiasts that like to use there pride and joy offroad gear for what its intended. ps One thing we can say you will never get bogged on our driveway no matter the rain fall as its very compacted despite its authentic rough character. The Secret Gorge site is suited to tents, camper trailers and smaller length caravans. All our other site locations are suited to off-road 4WD caravans and camper trailers. Binghi Station - an extraordinary place to make some truly wonderful family memories. :-)

Historically known as a resting point for bullock teams hauling timber from the surrounding forests on their way to a saw mill in the lower valley, Bajimba is now home to Merv & Carey. We are just over 1080 metres above sea level, with 57 acres of eucalypt & grass tree forests, grass pastures, and a small (but mighty) organic farm. Accommodation options include "West View “situated at our highest elevation with incredible views from the deck, and "Bullock Camp" which can accommodate tents, caravans or motor homes. When making travel arrangements, note we are in NSW and therefore are 1 hour ahead of QLD during day light savings months. It is encouraged if possible that guests arrive before 6pm to ensure a smooth and stress free check in to camp. Being able to experience the sunset is all a part of your Bajimba stay! Amenities for both sites include an ablution block with hot shower and composting toilet, with steam sauna and wood-fired hot tub available by appointment. Please call at time of booking if hot tub and sauna facilities are required (especially for same-days bookings). Wood fired hot tubs require four hours to heat appropriately. "Glendawn" is a small farming/ cattle grazing property with many beaut spots for camping. There are 2 sites with access to power and a few others without. It's a great place to get away but not too far from town. Fire pits and some firewood provided. We have a powered site in the old Woolshed. The Woolshed has had some modifications. It has a camp kitchen, hot and cold running water, toilet & shower. There is a fridge, toaster, kettle, microwave, gas BBQ, outdoor fire pit, chairs, power and lighting. Large central area indoors. Its a delightful spot in the paddock to enjoy being "in the country". The woolshed itself is 2WD accessible. In the winter months its really quite cold overnight. There's a great outdoor firepit and I provide firewood for $10. There's a patio heater too and its 8kg gas cylinder costs $30. I will provide the first one. This venue has been popular for families 'plugging in' their vans and for others to roll their swags out either inside the shed or under the stars. Privacy and peace and quiet in abundance here. We also have unpowered camping in the paddocks. There are a few places with shade near a dam, by the old hayshed, or on a hill with views over the valley, excellent sunsets and a clearing for camping, 4WD accessible. Children under 12 stay for free on unpowered sites!

1 night at BAJIMBA Eco Camping and Farm Stay

Merv's land is in a beautiful location up high in the hills. My campsite was private and I saw kangaroos and bunnies hopping by, and pretty birds as well as farm animals. The road up there is mostly unsealed but it was easily doable in my camper van especially as I went in dry weather. The toilets were a bit far away from my unpowered site for a 60 yo lady nighttime visit because I was afraid I'd trip, but I had my own anyway. The shower and toilet facilities were very clean and attractive being uniquely designed from recycled building materials. A lovely place for my overnight stay.

This Hipcamp honestly took our breath away. The view alone is incredible, and the beautiful white flowers around the property made the whole place feel extra special the moment we arrived. It was really easy to find and access, and the location itself was peaceful and quiet — exactly what we were hoping for. When we pulled in, we saw a little kid feeding the horses and it was honestly the cutest, most wholesome welcome ever. The horses were gorgeous, and the amenities were spotless. The hot shower was perfect, and having a laundry available felt like such a luxury while camping. Our dog had the best time exploring the space, and we’d definitely recommend this spot to anyone looking for a calm, scenic getaway. Would absolutely stay again.

We stayed at Kingfisher camp for a few days. The site itself is raised above the river by a few metres, so you look down onto it which is lovely for watching the wildlife. The cows are very inquisitive and quickly demolished our tall, portable dog fencing to investigate our camp which wasn't ideal, but it's part of camping in a paddock. We didn't use their amenities but did take a sticky beak and they are well designed and spotlessly clean. Will definitely return.

We camped by the river at the Casurina site and were absolutely blown away by the serenity. The river was a lovely temperature and a few dips were taken, enjoying the great weather. Driving up to Sunset Hill was purely breathtaking. Cow's were also very friendly with a couple taking a liking to our firepit and the left over ash. Definitely will be back to enjoy the pure magic of the great stay we had.

Weekend Trip to Wunglebung

Fantastic campsite at Possum Hollow right on the river bank with nice shady trees and lush green grass. The river was crystal clear and flowing well, great for an afternoon swim. Hot showers and flush loos are near campsites and clean. Sarah and the team at Wunglebung are absolutely brilliant hosts! Nothing seems to be too difficult and they do in fact go out of their way to meet and greet and make sure you have an enjoyable stay. Even delivered a bag of firewood to our campsite. These guys really do look after you, we were in small hiking tents with a storm expected late afternoon. We were offered shelter in their cabin till the storm passed if needed. This was my first visit, but now plan to make this a regular camp spot and take my family and friends. Would highly recommend you give it a go!

Weekend Trip to "Glendawn"

We loved our stay at Glendawn on the Woolshed site! We had plenty of space to ourselves and the Woolshed was perfect to have especially on the stormy night that we decided to stay! A toilet and hot shower was also a massive bonus! Thank you for being so friendly and having us Frances, we’ll definitely be back next time we are in the area!

14 nights at Wunglebung

Spent 2 weeks at Wunglebung, week at Kingfisher and 9 days at Possum Hollow. Both are great sites!! The drive into Wunglebung took approximately 40 minutes down a winding gravel road. Absolutely stunning scenery!! Saw Platypus in the river at Kingfisher. The river is a nice place to cool off during the heat of the day. Fantastic area for having your dog off leash, as long as they do t chase the cows. All the cows made us feel welcome, and the host Sarah and James were really helpful and accommodating. Excellent off grid camping, with the benefit of hot shower and toilets. Nice place to relax and unwind and unplug from life. Will definitely be going back at a later date. Big thankyou to Sarah and James 😊

Host John went out of his way to ensure our every need was catered for and a wealth of interesting information. Private camping area on level sites with view of the rolling hills. We enjoyed the bbq and Camfield at night with wood supplied. Hot shower and kitchenette was a great bonus.

4 nights at Binghi Station

15/10/25 Had an absolutely great time at Sandy Falls. Highly recommend. The whole spot to ourselves. Lots waterfalls and beautiful water. We also organised a breakfast on our last pack up day and the food was delicious. For noting…. The driveway in is 6kms long but took us 41mins going like 5-10klm as the the dirt road is 4x4. We had a jeep (very capable) and pop top camper trailer (not as capable as didn’t have a highland hitch) and needed to take it slow and steady so not to do any damage. It’s doable just need to be careful. Lots of farm animals - Peacocks, Peahens, Wallaby’s, sheep, farm dogs etc…. Will def do again.

Weekend Trip to Wunglebung

Beautiful, peacfull and private camp site, highly recommended, loved the scenery on the way in, quite hilly and steep with a 22ft van on the back but worth the end result. We didn't get to see any platypus but loved our long weekend stay.
