Also please note that due the closure of the Great Western Highway there is currently an increase in traffic volume going past our property. Our usually quite nights are not as quiet. The campers I have had since this has happened did not seem to be too impacted by it, but if you are wanting complete quietness then maybe wait until the Highway is re-opened. Our property is located in the Blue Mountains, nestled right in the middle of the national park and all that the Blue Mountains bush has to offer. Gums, ferns, fresh air and swimming holes. I only allow one group to camp at any one time per site. Other groups will be well away from you. However the dam is available for everyone to use. I adjust each booking with each group depending on size of the group and time of year. I also hold large events so will book out the entire site for large groups. Just a short drive from Sydney (1 ½ hours from Parramatta) but a world away with its ancient forests and meandering pathways. All photos are from the site or within a 2km walk of the camping site in National Park or reserve. Please note that the canyon photos are from a spot that is very difficult to get to. I welcome self-contained campers with your own camping toilet/shower, and drinking water. However there are facilities on site for smaller groups at an extra cost. The property offers a number of sites that can accommodate various group numbers. Please message me if you're interested in booking one or more listings for your special get together. Dogs are welcome as long as they are friendly, but no cats please. Also please be aware that we are surrounded by nature and part of nature are the snakes and ticks. - we need to keep this environment for the wildlife. Please take all your belongings and rubbish with you when you leave. Leave it better than as you found it. Please be aware that due to our proximity to the road and rail that at times you will hear some traffic noise. But most times it is very quiet except for the frogs.

The Hartley Vale Garlic Farm was established in 2018 as an organic garlic farm now owned by James and Michelle and their two children. The farm features a hempcrete building named 'The Stinking Rose' used for drying and curing garlic, that also acts as a big room for garlic feasts during planting (March, April and May each year). The building also houses toilet and shower facilities for guests when camping on site. On some evenings, the sky puts on a real show of golden sun rays with pink, purple and blue clouds while swallows flit across the garden beds catching moths. Our guests like to sit around their campfires watching the spectacular show while kids and dogs run around without the burden of leashes or noise of city traffic.

Platypus Waterhole is rented out as one site exclusive to the booking. This exclusivity allows our guests complete privacy. We are located on a cattle property less that two hours out of the rush and business of cities. Our camping site is suitable for groups up to 20 people. The camp site is close to two creeks, Blackheath Creek and Little Stoney Creek where the protected Platypus are frequently seen, along with our wombats and kangaroos. Cox’s River is a ten minute drive suitable for swimming and fishing. We have a compost toilet, outdoor shower (restricted water) covered camp kitchen with tap water from tank, BBQ, fire pit indoors/outdoors, table, chairs, sleeping area, tent area, shade trees, picturesque site. . We charge all guests a one-off exclusivity site fee. This applies to all guests whether you book one night or seven nights. You need to add this to your booking. This is an exclusive private camping area on the beautiful Blackheath Creek. The camping area has a fantastic shelter/camp kitchen with internal fireplace, wood fired stove, sink, running water & a preparation area together with a gas BBQ & large dining table with bench seats. There is hot water and an open air shower. A long drop toilet is located nearby. At night the shelter is lit by solar powered lights & the glow of the campfire. The shelter is accessible by 4WD. Dogs are not permitted. Limited firewood is provided. Firewood can be purchased at $50 for a generous bundle. It is not possible to know how much firewood is required for your stay so during winter please take this into consideration.

Weekend Trip to The Hideaway Oberon

Such a wonderful place to get away for a few nights. The cabin was perfect, and the pot belly stove a bonus, especially as it was zero degrees at night. Plus, having an off-grid hot shower was definitely a luxury. We loved it all, especially the peace and quiet. We slept in our rooftop tent and used the cabin as our place to relax. It would’ve definitely been far more cosy to sleep in the cabin, but we love our set up for sleep, so braced with the cold. Oberon was just a short 10-15 min drive away, where you could get pretty much all you need. Highly recommend Annabelle’s place for those campers who love a little bit of luxury without all the jazz.

We absolutely loved our recent stay at the cabin in the woods! What a gem to find. Staying here felt like we had stepped into a classic Australian storybook! Nestled privately in a tree cleared area, the wooden cabin was very well presented, neat, tidy and well maintained. The cozy potbelly stove inside the cabin kept us warm and toasty and the outdoor kitchenette area and compost environmental toilet was very clean and well stocked. The hot wood fired shower was an absolute bonus! Our furbabies had the absolute best time and were exhausted by the end of our stay. We are frequent off the grid campers and our stay in the cabin felt like luxury to us. A 4WD is a must for access to and from the cabin. Communication with Annabelle was outstanding. Very timely and all our questions were answered. Thank you so much for having us at your property, Annabelle! We will definitely be back!

my boyfriend and i LOVED staying at dallis campground. we were lucky enough to have the whole ground to ourselves thanks to the bad weather, we didnt get to see the creek as we had no rain but would love to see it next time. but overall great experience. we stayed in a tent near the camp kitchen for 2 nights. Steve gave us a run down of the place and gave us a tour and we picked out our area. the bathrooms were very clean and lovely, hot water and working shower. kitchen was clean and well looked after also hot water for washing dishes. Steve checked on us and made sure we were okay and had everything we needed. being strangers to the town we asked lots of questions and he answered them to the best of his abilities. We got to see the amazing views of Pantonys lookout and the surrounding areas. It really is a beautiful sight to see. Over all i just want to say, thank you Steve for the really amazing work you put into keeping your ground clean and well maintained, it really does show that you love what you do. i HIGHLY recommend visiting dallis campground when you can, we will be coming back when the weather is warmer and the creek is full. thank you steve, see you next time

What an amazing place to stay.. Very private, surrounded by nature and heaps to do do in the Megalong Valley. Only a short drive into Blackheath/Katoomba/Leura and we prefered being away from the tourist crowds.. Will definately be back.

This is such a beautiful spot on the lovely clear Colo river with large grassy spaces under the trees. Even the drive in is beautiful! We really enjoyed our time here. The amenities were clean and the showers hot. The river is wide and shallow with a sandy bottom, perfect for children to play in (though a bit cold in May). The area is leafy and surrounded by valley escarpments, bliss for nature lovers. Yara is a great host, she was very fast to respond to messages, and understanding and kind when we had a bit of a problem that she acted quickly to resolve. I would recommend this camp spot to anyone who is looking for a peaceful, safe family trip.

Beautiful place! I went mid week and it was so quiet. Great walks around the grounds and nature trails. Good facilities, easy check in and a welcoming chocolate lab who made sure I and my dog settled in nicely!
