Or pamper yourself with a Crystal reiki session, or tarot reading. The 2WD accessible sites feature spectacular views to the right, towards Mt Panorama and Mt Horrible and towards Mt Canobolas to the left. Lie back in your swag at night and let the star struck, velvety sky envelope you, or make a booking at the nearby Bathurst Observatory to see the stars up close. Each campsite offers its own unique features for you to enjoy and a hand crafted pit toilet is accessible to those camped along the river bank. Fish or swim in the river, ride your bikes, or set up camp and then head off on an adventure to the Goldfields at Ophir, or History Hill at Hill End via the Bridle Track. Unwind in the seclusion of this private and safe bush camping site on the banks of the Wambuul-Macquarie River in the remote Killongbutta valley located half-way between Bathurst and Orange. It’s a place where time stands still. Enabling you to reconnect with nature as you slow down and embrace the sounds of the river, wildlife and sheoaks when they ‘whisper secrets to the wind’. Many stories and dreamings have come from this place which guarantees to inspire your imagination as an artist, writer, poet or musician. You have access to 100 acres of bushland or enjoy a walk along Killongbutta Road which winds its way through spectacular Wiradjuri country where ancient stone quarries, corroboree sites and a warrior’s grave have been found. Platypus, water dragons and river rats all live in the river. Be prepared to share the site with wombats who have burrowed their homes into the banks. Road access to site is suitable for 2WD in dry weather. It is a short, steep drop with two tight corners not suitable for large caravans and RVs. The site has a newly constructed long drop toilet, pets are allowed and bring your own firewood to ensure you have enough as it's becoming scarce around the site. Please take all rubbish with you. Please note: Kids under 12 are free to support young families wanting to experience the bush. Please still add them to the booking as they will not be charged. What is not allowed: shooters and trappers, illegal fishing, motor bikes, quad bikes and other noisy machines! Killongbutta Road runs off Freemantle Road and is 36 kms from Bathurst. It is 40 kilometres from Orange through Gowan Road that joins Lower Lewis Ponds Road. For your information, On the Stone is a podcast and publishing studio that produces a quarterly magazine for the Freemantle Road community. We have local history to share and can always provide information about our services. Land was previously a sheep station but nature is slowly reclaiming it. We have been here six years and have seen hundreds of native trees come back through not overgrazing and fencing off bushland. Dry sandy creek bed (good for kids to explore) , except during floods. Lots of shady gumtrees. 2km grassy walk around fence line for those looking to exercise during their stay.

There are also kangaroos, wallabies and echidnas who roam the area. It's a beautiful place to snap a pic especially if you catch the morning sunrises and spectacular sunsets which are guaranteed to wow you. Do as little or as much as you want to on your stay. A perfect place to just unwind and take in the fresh country air and beautiful views. Stroll around the property and visit the old barn and some of the sheds and farming equipment that are scattered among the paddocks. You will have access to composting toilets or feel free to BYO facilities. Campfires are welcome in the pits provided, permitting there are no restrictions at the time of your visit. Dogs are welcomed as long as they are supervised and kept indoors at night. Being within 20 minutes to the local town of Coolah, it's a perfect stop over for an overnight stay or for a long weekend. The creek is a good spot to try some gold panning, go exploring and also has some deep swimming holes for you to enjoy. Pitch your tent or pull up your camping vehicle next to our creek! You will have complete privacy, only the kangaroos and other wildlife to share your trip with. There is plenty of space for the kids to run around, kick a ball, play some cricket, or go exploring along the creek during the day. In the evenings everyone can sit and relax in the quiet in front of a campfire. We welcome only self-contained campers who bring their own camping toilet/shower. The campsite is 2WD accessible with plenty of room and flat space to camp on. Not far from our property you can find the Bridle Track, which is very well known by 4WD enthusiasts. It was originally built as the first road between Bathurst and Hill End during the gold rush era, and was given its name due to horsemen having to dismount and guide their horses by the bridle through the very narrow sections. If you visit in November you may be here for the annual Marmalade Festival, with good weather, musicians, stalls and of course jams and marmalades! No pets please.

Approximately 45 minutes from Orange, 4 hours from Sydney. The region between Molong and Parkes offers scenic views, bush walking, bush camping, picnic areas, mountain biking trails, and 4WD touring. To the northwest lies Goobang National Park that includes Caloma lookout, one of the high points in the Wanda Wandong sector of Goobang National Park. The area is a bird watchers' paradise - you can often spot birds of prey, such as wedge-tailed eagles, brown goshawks and brown falcons, soaring across the sky. Black cypress pines, grevilleas, lomandras and heath feature commonly on the landscape. There are many tall grass trees in this area too, some of which are believed to be hundreds of years old. This is a large property that is taking a break from sheep farming. Covered in gum trees and pines and lots of open space. The property has a creek with all year round water holes and dams. You can do almost anything you want. Hiking, fishing, swimming, camping and living the dream. There's emus (bush chooks), kangaroos (hopping dogs), platypus and no drop bears, meaning you can sit back, relax and go back to the way it was. Self sufficient campers only, leave no trace. You must bring your own camping toilet and shower. If booking under the Group listing, you will need to arrange you own portaloos, which I am happy to manage delivery/pick up of with the local hire company. It's 15 minutes to the pub in town if you're up for a coldie or a meal. ​Our farm is a work in progress.

What is not allowed: shooters and trappers, illegal fishing, motor bikes, quad bikes and other noisy machines! Killongbutta Road runs off Freemantle Road and is 36 kms from Bathurst. It is 40 kilometres from Orange through Gowan Road that joins Lower Lewis Ponds Road. For your information, On the Stone is a podcast and publishing studio that produces a quarterly magazine for the Freemantle Road community. We have local history to share and can always provide information about our services. This is a large property that is taking a break from sheep farming. Covered in gum trees and pines and lots of open space. The property has a creek with all year round water holes and dams. You can do almost anything you want. Hiking, fishing, swimming, camping and living the dream. There's emus (bush chooks), kangaroos (hopping dogs), platypus and no drop bears, meaning you can sit back, relax and go back to the way it was. Self sufficient campers only, leave no trace. You must bring your own camping toilet and shower. If booking under the Group listing, you will need to arrange you own portaloos, which I am happy to manage delivery/pick up of with the local hire company. It's 15 minutes to the pub in town if you're up for a coldie or a meal. ​Our farm is a work in progress.

It was a magical place. I went there to clear my head and definitely found peace in that wide beautiful camping spot. The views were astounding both sunrise and sunset. Tammie was an amazing and warm host ❤️ I’ll definitely be back and recommend to anyone who is looking for some solace out of the city. Drive out was 100% worth it.

This is the most magical camping spot! We decided to come here to trial our new tent and have decided this will be our go to camping place. We spent one night, but as we left we all talked about how it had felt like we had been there for days. The horses were am added bonus to our trip, so gentle and inquisitive. Sally and Pete have an amazing setup here, picnic table, shelter with lighting and bore water, outdoor baths, shower... and soon a toilet. Located immediately off the highway it's location is extremely convenient. Highly recommend stopping at Johnson's gourmet butcher for an amazing piece of meat and bbq in your own little piece of paradise.

From the moment we arrived, owners Damo and Tammie made us feel so welcome — genuinely lovely people, down to earth, who clearly take pride in their property. The campsite itself is peaceful and full of charm — we loved being able to pat the friendly horses and llamas that wander around. The river is absolutely beautiful, perfect for a quiet stroll, fishing, swimming or just relaxing by the water. And I have to say — the best, most imaginative deep drop toilet we’ve ever used while camping! Clean, well set up, and surprisingly pleasant. This camp ground is also great for kids. If you’re after a relaxing stay with great hosts, stunning views, and a touch of farm life, Wattons Airstrip is a must-visit!

What a truly spectacular place to just stop and sit still. Nice big grassy area to set up camp, drop toilet with a 5 star view, the sound of the birds, the gentle river rapids, everything was just magic. Directions were simple and easy to follow and Marje is a warm and wonderful host. Absolutely perfect.

Wow, this really was a Great way to spend 3 nights away camping, the views we had were incredible, so peaceful too, a lot of wildlife around, emu’s, goats , kangaroos, echidna, wombats. The river is very calming and a great way to cool off,. Our hosts were the best, even offering assistance during a very heavy rainstorm on one of the days. Definitely mark this one as a favourite.
