Escape to Brazenhead – Your Private Creekside Getaway If you’re looking to switch off, spread out and enjoy the peace of the country, Brazenhead is the perfect place to escape. Set across 53 acres of beautiful countryside and bordered by approximately 1.3 km of the Winburndale Rivulet, Brazenhead offers private creekside camping with wide open spaces, shady trees and plenty of room to make the campsite your own. Whether you’re travelling as a couple, family or group, there’s space to relax without feeling crowded. Spend your days exploring the creek, trying your luck at gold panning, enjoying a swim in one of the deeper swimming holes, or simply finding a shady spot beside the water. Kids have acres of space to explore, kick a footy, play cricket and enjoy being outdoors, while kangaroos and local wildlife are regular visitors around the property. When evening arrives, light a fire in one of the provided fire pits, settle in with family and friends and enjoy the tranquillity of the countryside. With very little light pollution, clear nights at Brazenhead also provide a spectacular view of the stars. Fires are welcome when conditions permit and must always comply with current local fire restrictions. Brazenhead feels wonderfully secluded while still being within easy reach of everything you need. We’re approximately 15 minutes from the nearest shops, 20 minutes from Bathurst, 30 minutes from historic Sofala and around an hour from Hill End. For those looking for a little adventure, the famous Bridle Track is also nearby. Dating back to the gold rush era, this historic route between Bathurst and Hill End is well known among 4WD enthusiasts and offers a fantastic way to explore the surrounding region. Our campsites are flat, spacious and 2WD accessible. To keep the experience peaceful and environmentally friendly, we welcome self-contained campers only, so guests will need to bring their own toilet and shower facilities. Come to Brazenhead to slow down, explore the creek, sit around the fire and enjoy a genuine country escape. No pets please.
