The Facilities (The Honest Truth):
We offer a flush toilet and an outdoor warm camp shower at no extra cost to the site fees. They are functional, but they aren't "Instagrammable." If you need luxury amenities, we might not be the spot for you. But if you're here for the open space, the bush, and quality time with friends and family, you’ll love it here as much as we do.
Also we have unfenced dams and waterways, if you are camping with young children please consider carefully and let me know before booking.

Canoelands Orchard Camping and Fruit Picking, is located just 1 hour from Sydney's CBD. The property is 81 acres in total with a small shop and cafe onsite. We offer pick your own fruit so are open to the public daily (closed on occasion). Trading hours can be viewed at www.bookingscanoeladns.com. We are surrounded by the stunning valley views of Marra Marra National Park. Guests can enjoy hiking, wandering the orchard picking fresh produce, taking a tractor ride, feeding the animals and relaxing. Please note we are a working farm so sometimes tractors and vehicles can be heard working from 7am. There will be foot traffic and possibly tractor rides operating near some of the sites although we will do our best to respect your privacy while you are here. We also have a quarry surrounding most of the property, so they sometimes operate machinery early. This is not generally too disruptive though. We are just 15 minutes' drive from the beautiful historical Wiseman's Ferry and the Hawkesbury River. There are multiple hiking tracks located close by. We have several sites to offer around the property. We have a beautiful huge dam just 350m down the gully. It’s super peaceful although a steep walk down the driveway to access, it's definitely worth it, so pack your walking shoes and some swimmers.

Nestled under the Watagan mountains escarpment in the Hunter valley, the property has some amazing views in all directions, but still remains secluded and hidden from view. The property has been selectively cleared to maintain a balance of open land and untouched bushland which has a boundary to the Watagans National Park.
The animal life is very diverse as many species transition from the Watagans into the property and many live on site full time. These include flocks of amazing bird species such as Gang gang and Black Cockatoos, resident Wedge tailed eagles, Kookaburras, finches, honey eaters, Coucals, Lyrebirds and more. Wallabies of various types are common, and Sugar gliders can be seen on the flowering Eucalypts.
The camping areas for RV's sit on a large elevated flat area that border a large gorge with broken views towards the Hunter Valley vineyards. The Gorge (or Canyon) is rimmed by caves and has rainforest type trees in the bottom. The caves can be explored and the rainforest can be walked if you are fit!
The tent and camper trailer areas are terraced into an area of slight slope with a number of sites to chose from. Non potable water taps are available at each caravan site and at intervals in the camping area. This water is clear fresh dam or bore water and can be used for showers, washing up etc. Two flush toilets are available for use by both RV's and campers. There is a central fire pit.
We have a private site which has open views over the Hunter Valley to the Vineyards and beyond to the Barrington tops. This site has a cliff edge pool that comfortably fits up to 4 people for a dip. This area has a large fire pit that can be used to heat the pool in winter.
This site has its own flushing toilet and Shower. This site is best suited to a caravan as it is terraced, though it would be possible to setup tents or a camper van in this location also. This can also be booked as a group site.
16minutes to Cessnock, 25minutes to the M1, 2.25 hours to Sydney central and 25 minutes to Pokolbin.
The location is generally very peaceful with all sorts of wildlife.
There is plenty of ground sticks for fire wood and bulk timber for purchase.

The property rests on the shoulder on Mt Nellinda on nineteen hectares of land, there are one large Greenhouse where we grow potted flowers and some veggies, also several large dams which are used for irrigation and act as a Sanctury for our geese, best of all are the views. The perfect spot for relaxing next to a fire and listening to the Frogs and nightlife and waking to the sounds of kookaburras and bird life, Lots of Rock Wallabies in the evenings and early mornings.

CAMP 3 is a private in the bush area and will cater for five or so rooftops tents, difficult for caravans or large vehicles.
CAMP 4 smaller possibly two tents or rooftops secluded in the bush.
CAMP 5 similar to camp 3 in the bush and completely private great for a get together with friends.
CAMP 6 is the very top of the mountain with a long wide strip of cleared area with bush on both sides and a window at the end to the valley below, very private, must be fully contained and would suit most vehicles, may lose traction if pulling a heavy caravan or trailer.

1hr drive from the nearest town (Singleton), "Chapman Valley" is the perfect oasis for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle. There are no nearby shops so be sure to bring everything with you. The property offers over 100kms of bush tracks ideal for walking, push-bike riding or 4WDing. The Communal camping area is within walking distance of our amenities block, which offers flushing porcelain toilets and a hot shower. Bush campsites are fully self-sufficient, BYO (bring your own) water and toileting system. All campers are required to take their rubbish home with them as there are no bins on site. Sites available for all vehicle types, from buses and large caravans to fully kitted out off-road vehicles.
We offer a self check-in service with full maps and directions, which means you can arrive anytime you like.

La Cascina is a small property on a hill surrounded by trees and bushland. There are two main camping areas which would suite tent and small to medium van/car camping. There is access to neighbouring bushland with nice short walks available in the area. Only 20 minutes by car to Newcastle CBD, 10 minutes by car to Redhead Beach and 5 minutes by car to Lake Macquarie.
La Cascina is a great spot to stop overnight on a road trip or to get away for the weekend to relax. We have no toilets so please bring your own. The access to the property is a steep sealed driveway.
Site 1 is an open site with plenty of shade. The area is flat. More suited to larger camping setups. This site is less private. There is vision of the neighbouring property and an overflow campsite 50 meters away.
Site 2 is a more uneven surface area which is better for smaller vans and tents.
Redhead Beach is the closest dog beach 10 minutes by car.
Croudace Bay is a dog park on the lake which is 5 minutes by car.
This is a family owned acreage that brings the best parts of environmental living with the benefits of being close to the coast and a city. A very long time ago it was the site of a quarry. The nature has returned and we are left with a beautiful forested acreage.

Whispering Gums Colo River Camping
Beautiful property, nestled in the Colo Valley, next to the pristine Colo River. We have cleared grassy paddocks, some shady areas, and access to the Colo River, one of the most pristine rivers in NSW.
Our river access is normally shallow, well-suited to young families or those who just want to lay back and enjoy a refreshing dip. Amazing sunrises, sunsets, and stargazing are provided free of charge along with bird watching, local wildlife, and horses in surrounding paddocks.
We offer limited sites to comply with NSW Camping legislation and Hipcamp guidelines and to enable campers to experience the Colo as it should be, listening to the beautiful wildlife and really appreciating the outdoors. Sites are large with varying distance between each to enable you to enjoy the camping experience in your own space.
Both paddock sites and limited river spots are available. If planning to stay with friends and you wish to share a site only 1 booking is required, the sites are large, some up to 30m x 30m.
IMPORTANT: Pets are allowed on a case-by-case basis, with conditions, and a $20 fee applies. Please check with Hosts before booking. Once approved, please add the Pets Extra when booking.
(Saturday night 2-night minimum)
There is no mobile reception or internet access, therefore, providing a true off-grid retreat. Self-sufficient campers are preferred.
There are fire drums available on each site, most with grill plates - subject to RFS bush fire danger ratings on the day.

There are local bush walks through National Parks and great places for mountain bike riding although be mindful of holiday traffic in peak times on our local dirt roads.

We would like to advise that entry to our beautiful property is a dirt road and does have mounds. The road has just been upgraded and although has dirt mounds is quite easy. We suggest to drive over them on an angle and take your time. We have lots of people come in with trailers and campers and have not had a problem. But do not recommend it if you have a lowered car. Any concerns, please contact us.

Canoelands Orchard Camping and Fruit Picking, is located just 1 hour from Sydney's CBD. The property is 81 acres in total with a small shop and cafe onsite. We are surrounded by the stunning valley views of Marra Marra National Park. Guests can enjoy hiking, wandering the orchard picking fresh produce, taking a tractor ride, feeding the animals and relaxing. Please note we are a working farm so sometimes tractors and vehicles can be heard working from 7am. There will be foot traffic and possibly tractor rides operating near some of the sites although we will do our best to respect your privacy while you are here. We also have a quarry surrounding most of the property, so they sometimes operate machinery early. This is not generally too disruptive though. We are just 15 minutes' drive from the beautiful historical Wiseman's Ferry and the Hawkesbury River. There are multiple hiking tracks located close by. We have several sites to offer around the property. We have a beautiful huge dam just 350m down the gully. It’s super peaceful although a steep walk down the driveway to access, it's definitely worth it, so pack your walking shoes and some swimmers.

Nestled under the Watagan mountains escarpment in the Hunter valley, the property has some amazing views in all directions, but still remains secluded and hidden from view. The property has been selectively cleared to maintain a balance of open land and untouched bushland which has a boundary to the Watagans National Park.
The animal life is very diverse as many species transition from the Watagans into the property and many live on site full time. These include flocks of amazing bird species such as Gang gang and Black Cockatoos, resident Wedge tailed eagles, Kookaburras, finches, honey eaters, Coucals, Lyrebirds and more. Wallabies of various types are common, and Sugar gliders can be seen on the flowering Eucalypts.
The camping areas for RV's sit on a large elevated flat area that border a large gorge with broken views towards the Hunter Valley vineyards. The Gorge (or Canyon) is rimmed by caves and has rainforest type trees in the bottom. The caves can be explored and the rainforest can be walked if you are fit!
The tent and camper trailer areas are terraced into an area of slight slope with a number of sites to chose from. Non potable water taps are available at each caravan site and at intervals in the camping area. This water is clear fresh dam or bore water and can be used for showers, washing up etc. Two flush toilets are available for use by both RV's and campers. There is a central fire pit.
We have a private site which has open views over the Hunter Valley to the Vineyards and beyond to the Barrington tops. This site has a cliff edge pool that comfortably fits up to 4 people for a dip. This area has a large fire pit that can be used to heat the pool in winter.
This site has its own flushing toilet and Shower. This site is best suited to a caravan as it is terraced, though it would be possible to setup tents or a camper van in this location also. This can also be booked as a group site.
16minutes to Cessnock, 25minutes to the M1, 2.25 hours to Sydney central and 25 minutes to Pokolbin.
The location is generally very peaceful with all sorts of wildlife.
There is plenty of ground sticks for fire wood and bulk timber for purchase.

1hr drive from the nearest town (Singleton), "Chapman Valley" is the perfect oasis for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle. There are no nearby shops so be sure to bring everything with you. The property offers over 100kms of bush tracks ideal for walking, push-bike riding or 4WDing. The Communal camping area is within walking distance of our amenities block, which offers flushing porcelain toilets and a hot shower. Bush campsites are fully self-sufficient, BYO (bring your own) water and toileting system. All campers are required to take their rubbish home with them as there are no bins on site. Sites available for all vehicle types, from buses and large caravans to fully kitted out off-road vehicles.
We offer a self check-in service with full maps and directions, which means you can arrive anytime you like.

La Cascina is a small property on a hill surrounded by trees and bushland. There are two main camping areas which would suite tent and small to medium van/car camping. There is access to neighbouring bushland with nice short walks available in the area. Only 20 minutes by car to Newcastle CBD, 10 minutes by car to Redhead Beach and 5 minutes by car to Lake Macquarie.
La Cascina is a great spot to stop overnight on a road trip or to get away for the weekend to relax. We have no toilets so please bring your own. The access to the property is a steep sealed driveway.
Site 1 is an open site with plenty of shade. The area is flat. More suited to larger camping setups. This site is less private. There is vision of the neighbouring property and an overflow campsite 50 meters away.
Site 2 is a more uneven surface area which is better for smaller vans and tents.
Redhead Beach is the closest dog beach 10 minutes by car.
Croudace Bay is a dog park on the lake which is 5 minutes by car.
This is a family owned acreage that brings the best parts of environmental living with the benefits of being close to the coast and a city. A very long time ago it was the site of a quarry. The nature has returned and we are left with a beautiful forested acreage.

Whispering Gums Colo River Camping
Beautiful property, nestled in the Colo Valley, next to the pristine Colo River. We have cleared grassy paddocks, some shady areas, and access to the Colo River, one of the most pristine rivers in NSW.
Our river access is normally shallow, well-suited to young families or those who just want to lay back and enjoy a refreshing dip. Amazing sunrises, sunsets, and stargazing are provided free of charge along with bird watching, local wildlife, and horses in surrounding paddocks.
We offer limited sites to comply with NSW Camping legislation and Hipcamp guidelines and to enable campers to experience the Colo as it should be, listening to the beautiful wildlife and really appreciating the outdoors. Sites are large with varying distance between each to enable you to enjoy the camping experience in your own space.
Both paddock sites and limited river spots are available. If planning to stay with friends and you wish to share a site only 1 booking is required, the sites are large, some up to 30m x 30m.
IMPORTANT: Pets are allowed on a case-by-case basis, with conditions, and a $20 fee applies. Please check with Hosts before booking. Once approved, please add the Pets Extra when booking.
(Saturday night 2-night minimum)
There is no mobile reception or internet access, therefore, providing a true off-grid retreat. Self-sufficient campers are preferred.
There are fire drums available on each site, most with grill plates - subject to RFS bush fire danger ratings on the day.
There are three communal flushing toilets and two awesome hot water showers!
ALL waste is to leave with you!
There are local bush walks through National Parks and great places for mountain bike riding although be mindful of holiday traffic in peak times on our local dirt roads.
Please note: Due to our location bookings may be canceled at short notice in times of bad weather due to flooding, limited access, fire or flood warnings. We trust you will understand we are only looking out for your safety and of course, Hipcamp credits will be arranged.

TJ's has over 1000 acres of mixed beautifully grassed areas, surrounding Aussie bush, and a sand based seasonal river (the river is not always flowing fully). Where you can relax and enjoy the peace and tranquility of the Australia Bush, taking in the stunning views, listening to the wildlife, star gazing, go bush walking, splash in our crystal clear seasonal river or bring out your adventure side and go 4wding.
Pets are definitely welcome, but please be sensible and do not bring them if they are aggressive. Please pick up after him/her (there is nothing worse than stepping in a dog dropping).
Horses also welcome - we have a fenced cattle yard.
Hot Showers are available. There are toilets placed around the property.
We have communal sites plus separated private sites for those that would like some privacy. (If you would like a private site, please message us once you have booked).
Have a Fenced off Kids Playground.
Buggys (allowed any weekend at an extra fee).
Quads and dirt bikes also allowed PLEASE NOTE; They are an extra fee and only allowed on specific weekends. As we like to keep our property quiet for everyone to relax from the hassle and bustle of everyday life.

We would like to advise that entry to our beautiful property is a dirt road and does have mounds. The road has just been upgraded and although has dirt mounds is quite easy. We suggest to drive over them on an angle and take your time. We have lots of people come in with trailers and campers and have not had a problem. But do not recommend it if you have a lowered car. Any concerns, please contact us.

Was a lovely site for tent camping. The grass was lovely to walk on and my daughter and dog had a lovely time playing on it. The sites were quite close together but were still nice and had a fire pit for each site. Loved all the activities through the day, will definitely be back!

We absolutely loved our stay in the orchard. Fabulous grassy flat ground perfect for your tent. The toilets were a short walk away. Cafe on site was great for a coffee the following morning. Each site has its own campfire and you can purchase some firewood for an extra cost. 10/10 would recommend, our highlight was strolling through the orchards and picking some fresh produce to take home with us!!

We all enjoyed staying at Jaime and Nathan’s campsite! We had plenty of privacy, a great experience picking a variety of fruits, and they were super tasty! The children also loved feeding animals and picking fruits 🥰. We highly recommend it to everyone! The only downsides were that the toilets were quite far, and the washing and shower areas were a bit dirty, but apart from that, we were all very happy with our stay! ☺️

We had a wonderful stay in this caravan. It felt warm, cosy, and very homey. The host was kind and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Everything we needed was well prepared, and the amenities were complete and convenient. It’s a perfect place to unwind and create great memories. We truly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable getaway. Would definitely stay again!

We stayed here for a couple of nights in April 2026. Absolutely lovely property and area. Beautiful. Owen and Skye the owners were great. Cows friendly too. You'll need your own drinking water and washing up equipment but firewood was able to be bought at a good price. Recommended!

We recently had the pleasure of camping at the Orchard and it was everything we hoped for expect an encounter with the python. Jamie and Nathan were reachable quickly and very informative which gave most of us a piece of mind. We discovered an uninvited neighbour “a diamond python” who stayed on the same spot until we had checked out. We were offered an alternative site but we chose to stay on the same site. Our kids loved picking the apples and eating them fresh from the trees. Moreover, they enjoyed feeding the animals- alpacas, goats, Guinea pig and pigs. The tractor ride was a world of fun for us. We will certainly be coming again and will be recommending to all our friends.

Absolutely fantastic! Our camp stay was so enjoyable, the place is nice and flat for the tent, safe environment and the orchard is beautiful! Being able to pick and eat the fruit, see and feed the animals and have a tractor ride was so much added fun! The staff at the cafe were lovely too.
The toilets were a little drive down the lane, would be nice if there was something closer at nighttime but can’t complain, overall it was great! Thankyou!!

Loved camping here for 3 nights over Easter long weekend. Generous sized flat camping blocks in main camping area. We were site RV2. On this particular weekend sites were organised with no one camping on site 1 or 3 so we were able to spread out. Tap on each site for non potable water . Flushing toilets, hand wash and sink. Quiet. Our site had own area for camp fire or could have used communal fire. We bought own logs but some were available for purchase if needed.

These hosts were amazing! Explained everything to us as we arrived, had firewood available to purchase and use in the permanent and portable fire pits available onsite. Toilets were well stocked with quality toilet paper, the drop toilets were kept clean. Property was well maintained and plenty of things for the kids to do around the dam. Kids loved the kayaks and pontoon. There were beautiful Water Lillie’s blooming also. Our friends stayed in the onsite van, which was clean, comfortable (unheard of for a caravan bed!), and well stocked. This property was perfect for our Easter getaway. There were other people but not too close together. They had cleared some areas ready for hip campers to park up. We had our dogs with us, who we kept on leash. Thanks guys! Hope to be back.

We loved our stay here. As advertised, the bathrooms are a 5-10 minute walk away and the one shower is a bit old. The farm/orchard surrounding the campsite is a bit run down in areas with discarded fam supplies scattered around the fields. That being said, camp spots are generous and being surrounded by orchards is beautiful. I imaging going at different times of year would be a different experience. Enjoyed ourselves. The kids really enjoyed the tractor rides and animals - bonus.

Absolutely beautiful experience, we stayed at site 10 and it was massive more than enough space to kick ball around and the activities around the orchard were amazing. As well as a quick fish at Hawsbury river is not far at all. Th fruit was so fresh and sweet to eat and Jaime and Nathan were super accomodating and friendly.

This was a dream holiday for kids. The animal feeding and tractor rides were a highlight. They loved being able to go and pick a fresh tomato or two to go with our meals, or an apple for afternoon tea. The sites were well maintained and the grass was soft. We ordered firewood and fresh eggs which were there as soon as we arrived.
Be prepared for the bathroom and showering facility to be fairly basic. There is only one source of potable water, which is in the shower, so sometimes there was a bit of a wait for that. We also had no reception while there (Vodafone). These didn’t detract from our stay and we actually preferred to be off our phones, but if you weren’t aware it might be a surprise.
We already can’t wait to come back in the spring to find some new things growing in the orchard. The kids already miss the farm dogs, Stevo and Billie!

Where to go
Patonga
Quiet Patonga sits on the edge of the secluded Brisk Bay about an hour and a half north of Sydney by road. You can set up camp around Brisk Bay and Brisbane Water National Park, where surrounding campgrounds offer powered and unpowered sites with access to electric BBQs, showers, and laundry facilities. Camp here to be perfectly positioned for beginning the 3-kilometre Patonga to Pearl Beach walking track, which takes you through the national park and ends on a beach.
Bouddi
Wake up to the sounds of waves and wildlife in Bouddi National Park by staying at Tallow Beach, Putty Beach, or Little Beach campgrounds. Putty Beach has showers, smaller Little Beach has sheltered barbecues, and the remote, hike-in Tallow Beach is fairly basic, with just toilets. Each is just steps from the shoreline and well placed for swimming, surfing, fishing, and embarking on the park’s walking tracks, including the 8-kilometre Bouddi Coastal Walk, which runs through bush and along dramatic cliffs. Look out for migrating whales between May and November.
Gosford
The coastal town of Terrigal is known for its long stretch of white-sand beach—a major draw for surfers and fishers—while the neighbouring town of Avoca Beach is a favourite of families and the gateway to the surfing beaches of Macmasters and Copacabana. To the west, Ettalong Beach, Woy Woy, and Gosford are on the calmer waters of the barrier estuary of Brisbane Water. After enjoying all the coast has to offer, head inland for unspoilt bush camping spots.
Wyong
To the north, you’ll find more beaches and watersports at The Entrance, perhaps best-known for the spectacle of its daily pelican feeding. Minutes from The Entrance, a handful of holiday parks offer powered camping sites, wifi, and cabins. Head an hour northwest into the hinterland to Olney State Forest for its walking trails through lush native forest: Casuarina, Pines, Olney, and Turpertine sites all offer sheltered camping areas with access to barbecues, picnic areas, and toilets.
