Please be advised that we do not permit campers to arrive after hours, you need to arrive prior to 5.30 when the office is open in order to get the site allocation,
1. We are not permitting people to set up in the dark, it is totally black, no lighting in wilderness zone and far too difficult to locate your site, and it disturbs other campers.

BEFORE YOU ARRIVE
PHONES: Phone reception is good, there is a Telstra exchange on the property.
ROADS: Roads around the sites are unsealed, but most normal cars and the average SUV handle it okay. The road down into the Megalong Valley is tar sealed, very scenic but winding.
ICE: Bring your own ice
WOOD: Timber for fires can be purchased at reception. We are an environmental biodiversity precinct so don’t permit damage to vegetation.
FIRES: Plenty of existing fire spots
SHOPS: The township of Blackheath is 15klm away up on the Gt Western Hwy, none in the Valley
SHADE: Plenty of shady areas
WATER: We are on town water
TOILETS there are 3 men's and 3 women's, plus 8 at reception, plus 3 in pioneer and 3 in corner paddock
SHOWERS: 3 gas hot water showers in men's, 3 in women's, plus 2 in Lodge
NOISE: Shutdown time for music is 10pm - no exceptions! but you can still enjoy the fires - quietly.

SCENIC RAILWAY 25 Klms away at Katoomba and 40 minutes travel time
BIKE and WALKING TRACKS: Plenty of bush tracks, plus walks up at Porters Pass and Blackheath
Dont forget to bring along some bread to feed the horses and donkeys - they love it
You are reminded to allow enough time to arrive for this property.prior to dark, which is 5.0 in winter.
It is difficult to find a wilderness campsite in the dark and disturbs other campers.
We are requiring ALL vehicles to get registered PRIOR to going up to the site, resulting from so many vehicles trespassing at the venue and causing nuisances for other campers
Please indicate the details of cars such as make, model , colour and rego number prior to arrival.
We must also remind campers that this is not a venue for noisy partying as we are a quiet wilderness environmental zone. We do not tolerate it and will remove offenders. Other campers treasure the peace and quiet.

If you are wanting to have a fire you are more then welcome and you can go for a walk about to collect as many pieces of wood on the ground. Don’t forget to collect a good marshmallow stick!
While you are on the property and if you want to be apart of any extra activities you see please don’t hesitate to ask.
If you are wanting to explore and head off property and explore the local area there is an array of things to do some close and some further away. We are 40 minutes out from the heart of Hunter Valley wine country, minutes away from a few local beaches; Norah Head, Catherine Hill Bay, Soldiers Beach or Caves Beach. All have cafes or pubs close. If you are wanting to head to the bush the Watagan Mountains which are our backdrop has endless picnic spots/look outs etc where you can enjoy driving, walking, dirt/push bike tracks or if you have a specific mountain bike buzz you can head to Awaba Mountain Bike trail. Pre-booked riding lessons available. We have a state forest over the road suited to bush walking or mountain bikes. Ammo the horse who galloped out in the Sydney 2000 Olympics opening ceremony is buried here at Lakestead Farm. We love to speak about our Olympic experience.

At Lakestead Farm we pride ourselves on our beautiful environment. We have lots of wildlife around. We are very upset when visitors to the Farm dig holes and poo in them. Leaving toilet paper on top. This is so unfair to us and future campers on our sites.
Because this has occurred we will only allow campers with camping toilets.
In order for us to accept your request you need to confirm you have a toilet.
Don’t say yes if you don’t have one, Checks will be done, if you don’t have a portable toilet you will be asked to leave and your fees won’t be refunded.

The property is just 7kms from the M1 motorway (take the Morisset exit off the M1) and Morisset just 10kms away with shops and fuel.
There is plenty to do in the Morisset area including visiting the pretty Gap Creek Falls in the Watagans National Park or kayaking around beautiful Lake Macquarie, Australia’s largest coastal saltwater lake. There are some great areas for hiking, bike riding, bird watching and more.

There is hot water and an open air shower. A long drop toilet is located nearby. At night the shelter is lit by solar powered lights & the glow of the campfire. The shelter is accessible by 4WD. Dogs are not permitted. Limited firewood is provided.
Firewood can be purchased at $50 for a generous bundle. It is not possible to know how much firewood is required for your stay so during winter please take this into consideration.

There are a few great campsites to choose from- all 2WD accessible. 1 at the top of the property (good for families/large groups up to approx 20) with good flat ground and surrounded by a lush forest. It's close to the quiet country road so it is easy access in and out, another 2 at the back with water views and 1 in the forest (Only if you have 4wd and portable loo we can give you an exclusive spot in the bottom of the golden gorge). Sit back and relax around the campfire whilst toasting a marshmallow or some damper.
This campsite offers a unique heptagonal toilet (no shower yet but its on the way). Please ensure you're fully self sufficient with all other supplies (including water).
From here you can explore the amazing Blue Mountain views, marvel at a magical glow worm dell, check out the 2 apple cider breweries or gin distillery and taste some of the region's delicious produce.
Colo River is 30 mins away, a clear waterhole is 10 min drive (4wd only- hosts can transport if available), the mouth of a hiking trail to the National Park is on the property, the main township of Bilpin is close by with the baker, fruit and veggie picking, Mountain Bells Cafe (host recommendation), apple pies galore and Melange restaurant , the markets are on Saturday morning 10-12 noon at the local hall and there is a free meditation group 9am Sunday at the monastery.
With so much to do you will need more than one night or plan a return visit to the amazing Mountain Lagoon Hideaway at Bilpin!
We can also offer massage and reiki treatments on site as a 'nature immersion' experience or if you prefer it can be in the privacy of a massage studio (10 mins away), guided nature and wildlife walks/sunset walks or longer hikes, professional ecology tours, fire twirling lessons or performance and African drumming lessons, games for the kids, local produce hampers, eggs and BBQS (with notice and if hosts are available). ROADS: Roads around the sites are unsealed, but most normal cars and the average SUV handle it okay. The road down into the Megalong Valley is tar sealed, very scenic but winding.

WOOD: Timber for fires can be purchased at reception. We are an environmental biodiversity precinct so don’t permit damage to vegetation.

Hello Campers! Our beautiful property is located on 20 acres in a convenient location just 10 minutes out of Campbelltown. The property is a short drive to Dharawal National Park, and a great 'home base' while you explore everything the area has to offer.
There are fire pits provided for campfires, given there are no fire bans or restrictions in place. If you would like to be further away you can camp near our dam which is becoming more popular as of late .If you would like to be totally tucked away in the bush we also have spots totally surrounded by bush, please let us know when booking. There is a hot outdoor shower and a toilet on site just a short walk from all the camp sites.
Please take note that our dogs which love people and are super friendly wander around freely and will come and visit you, so if you do not like dogs please do not book in .

We are located approximately 1 hour from Sydney airport so a day in the city is not out of the question. Shopping malls a short distance away.
We have 4 horses, two dams, nice outlook, Clean tank water is available and picnic table can be provided. Please note we can no longer offer bathroom facilities.
As we have horses, dogs must be on a leash.

The property is 40 acres of beautiful bushland, backing on to the Olney State Forest. Camp on a grassy site overlooking the dam or nestled in amongst the trees. Pets allowed. Keep your dog on leash at your campsite and under supervision at all times. Clean up after your dog. Fire pits provided on each campsite. Do not dismantle fire pits.
Campsites have no toilet or shower facilities, and no electrical connection.
Please bring your own water.
Dry organic firewood for sale $15 for 15kgs Bag on request. Fresh free-range eggs for sale when available.
Please respect our home and property and leave the campsite in the good condition you found it.
The property is just 7kms from the M1 motorway (take the Morisset exit off the M1) and Morisset just 10kms away with shops and fuel.
There is plenty to do in the Morisset area including visiting the pretty Gap Creek Falls in the Watagans National Park or kayaking around beautiful Lake Macquarie, Australia’s largest coastal saltwater lake. There are some great areas for hiking, bike riding, bird watching and more.
Set on the western foreshore of Lake Macquarie, which has the bush in its backyard. Find a patch of shade for a picnic in Lake Macquarie State Conservation Area where you can spot kangaroos and other wildlife. The saltwater lake is a haven for sea turtles and dolphins and you might see sea eagles and kookaburras, too.
Fern Gully is just 1.5 hours drive from Sydney! We look forward to meeting you.

Platypus Waterhole is rented out as one site exclusive to the booking. This exclusivity allows our guests complete privacy. We are located on a cattle property less that two hours out of the rush and business of cities. Our camping site is suitable for groups up to 20 people.
The camp site is close to two creeks, Blackheath Creek and Little Stoney Creek where the protected Platypus are frequently seen, along with our wombats and kangaroos.
Cox’s River is a ten minute drive suitable for swimming and fishing.
We have a compost toilet, outdoor shower (restricted water) covered camp kitchen with tap water from tank, BBQ, fire pit indoors/outdoors, table, chairs, sleeping area, tent area,
shade trees, picturesque site.
. We charge all guests a one-off exclusivity site fee. This applies to all guests whether you book one night or seven nights. You need to add this to your booking.
This is an exclusive private camping area on the beautiful Blackheath Creek.
The camping area has a fantastic shelter/camp kitchen with internal fireplace, wood fired stove, sink, running water & a preparation area together with a gas BBQ & large dining table with bench seats.
There is hot water and an open air shower. A long drop toilet is located nearby. At night the shelter is lit by solar powered lights & the glow of the campfire. The shelter is accessible by 4WD. Dogs are not permitted. Limited firewood is provided.
Firewood can be purchased at $50 for a generous bundle. It is not possible to know how much firewood is required for your stay so during winter please take this into consideration.

Located at Bilpin, this beautiful campsite is nestled at the foot of the majestic Blue Mountains and backs onto Wollemi National Park. This magical 16 acres is abundant with wildlife & where you camp is the mouth to the beginning of some great hiking tracks in the National Park! :)
There are a few great campsites to choose from- all 2WD accessible. 1 at the top of the property (good for families/large groups up to approx 20) with good flat ground and surrounded by a lush forest. It's close to the quiet country road so it is easy access in and out, another 2 at the back with water views and 1 in the forest (Only if you have 4wd and portable loo we can give you an exclusive spot in the bottom of the golden gorge). Sit back and relax around the campfire whilst toasting a marshmallow or some damper.
This campsite offers a unique heptagonal toilet (no shower yet but its on the way). Please ensure you're fully self sufficient with all other supplies (including water).
From here you can explore the amazing Blue Mountain views, marvel at a magical glow worm dell, check out the 2 apple cider breweries or gin distillery and taste some of the region's delicious produce.
Colo River is 30 mins away, a clear waterhole is 10 min drive (4wd only- hosts can transport if available), the mouth of a hiking trail to the National Park is on the property, the main township of Bilpin is close by with the baker, fruit and veggie picking, Mountain Bells Cafe (host recommendation), apple pies galore and Melange restaurant , the markets are on Saturday morning 10-12 noon at the local hall and there is a free meditation group 9am Sunday at the monastery.
With so much to do you will need more than one night or plan a return visit to the amazing Mountain Lagoon Hideaway at Bilpin!
We can also offer massage and reiki treatments on site as a 'nature immersion' experience or if you prefer it can be in the privacy of a massage studio (10 mins away), guided nature and wildlife walks/sunset walks or longer hikes, professional ecology tours, fire twirling lessons or performance and African drumming lessons, games for the kids, local produce hampers, eggs and BBQS (with notice and if hosts are available). Please discuss with your hosts for further details and availability :)

What a great spot with everything we needed and heaps of space. We had a caravan and 3 kids. Rob provided a water connection and power so we were happy campers! Pool was delightful and the kids enjoyed the 3 dogs that joined us in the afternoons. Peaceful, no fuss, no stress, happily recommend.

Amazing that we are able to make fires too.
There was a big group next to us that was a little too noisy too late and Gary went to speak to them in the day. They care about keeping this place about nature and peace. Would go again!

Plenty of space, the river is nice and shallow in places for little people to splash about, plus lots of things for the kids to play with at the site. Toilets well maintained. Road into and out is quite steep and bumpy, fine in our 2WD campervan when dry but suspect it would be a bit sketchy in the wet.

With two kids in tow, this spot was perfect, it had everything on site for a great bush retreat. We loved the hot showers and tips from the host plus the walks on property were great for a 5y/o without the need to go too far. We also lived that it was a little over 1hr from Sydney.
