We had a great time staying at Craig's property for a 9-night camping stay. Not especially experienced, and some pretty serious wet, windy and wintry weather prevailed. Still, we had an amazing time. The fellas were super welcoming, the property is beautiful, and the basic facilities provide much of what you need. In addition, there's a pile of stuff to enjoy at the farm, and in the surrounding community that the hosts are very well connected to. We had a rejuvenating and relaxing time at one with the natural surrounds. Would do again. Jason and Mark.

Weekend Trip to GingerNut Farm - Adults Only

Wonderful experience and extremely obliging and welcoming owners. Great forest walks with my dog and a sensational massage in the forest. Easy to locate and accessible in our motor home. Camp shower and portable toilets available on site. We chose to stay in the paddock section as it is fully fenced for our border collie dog. Would recommend and will definitely be back. Clothes optional was great for us and everyone on site made us feel very comfortable.

Jenelle and Ray are really wonderful camp hosts! So friendly and they brought me fresh fruit this morning and were lovely to chat to. The property is beautiful and my dog absolutely loved being able to safely trot about and explore our camp. The sunset over the mountains was stunning, and the area is so peaceful. Would absolutely stay again 🩷

1 night at Oakey Ridge

Stayed in this campsite with mates, 8 of us in the group. Area is clean and you can have all the fun you want, it’s huge. Kitchen, toilet and bath is just nearby from where we are near the waterfalls. Greg was so friendly and hands on. Toured us to all of the sites in the area. He accommodated all of our request. 5 star for him. Campsite is really good for big groups as land is huge. We will be definitely be booking this campsite again in the future.

Weekend Trip to Burringbar Camping

The hosts were very friendly & the site was clean & quite. The area was well grassed & cut. Dog friendly. The camp is about 2.5k from the centre of town, but is an easy ride. Hopefully return to ride more of the rail trail soon.

2 nights at Eagle Ridge Bush Retreat

Our stay at Tiny Home on the Rocky at Eagle Ridge Bush Retreat was everything we hoped for and more. It was the perfect glamping setup for our little family—comfy, peaceful, and surrounded by stunning bushland. The amenities had everything we needed, and our daughters (and dog!) absolutely loved the freedom to disconnect and just enjoy the river and nature. Daniel and Kristy were amazing Hipcamp hosts—kind, flexible, and so accommodating. They went above and beyond to help us rebook after we had to cancel last-minute due to weather. Kristy was especially sweet with our girls, chatting patiently as they bubbled over about their first night and their love of dogs. Heads up for future campers: a 4x4 is essential to get down to camp (as noted in the listing), and when Daniel says to bring extra firewood—do it! The fire tub was a standout experience for us, soaking in warm water under a cold winter sky, watching the stars (and wishing on shooting ones!). We’ve done lots of family camping, but this was by far one of our most comfortable and memorable trips. Highly recommend!

Weekend Trip to The Sleepy Hollow Manor Estate

We loved Toms Land, loved the cows visiting us. It was beautiful and green. Plenty of shade and plenty of camps in the sun. Lovely little creek to have a paddle in(was too cold in June). Missed out on viewing the platypus, maybe next time. So many places to have a walk, so close to a beautiful soap shop up the road( sleepy Hollow soap Co) Only 10 minutes to Pottsville as well. Will definitely be back again.

3 nights at Eagle Ridge Bush Retreat

My family and I loved camping at Eagle Ridge, we travelled from Sydney, Newcastle and Sunshine Coast. Two of my family stayed in the tiny home and the rest of us camped around it. The tiny home was lovely and well equipped, the deck was massive so made it easy for us to chill together as a family. There was a gas heater, lounge, massive bbq and large camp fridge to use, and a bathroom with flushing toilet powered by a water pump - with hot water! The tiny home is not powered, so you’ll need to charge the lanterns provided which you can do from the fridge. There was a fire pit near the deck as well as down near the hot tub! The hot tub is warmed by heat from the fire - recommend starting the fire around 8 hours before planning to use, there was a water pump to also fill the tub from the river. The drive in was fine for our 4wd, my mum has an AWD and it managed as it isn’t low, however was harder for her going back up the hill to leave especially with condensation. Would not recommend AWD/2WD if it rains. The property is beautiful and camping near the river was amazing. Thanks again for our stay! We would love to stay again sometime.

Scrubby Creek camping was perfect for our trail riding group. Plenty of room for floats & horses. The hosts were friendly & helpful. Riding in Bungabee forest is brilliant.

2 nights at The Ranch on Clarence

We booked in for a 2 night stay at the Ranch on Clarence. Shanti's communication was great and she was very accommodating. Unfortunately when we arrived at the property, it wasn't what we expected. It definitely wasn't camping on the river, as you had to go down a step hill to the water and there wasn't a safe and easy access to the water. Maybe it was just me, but as it was a ranch we expected to see alot more horses however they were all kept over at another property. We have stayed at other farm stays where the kids were able to feed, brush and interact with the horses but this place definitely was not like that. Firewood was also $20 a bag where we normally pay $10. We drove around to the crossing which was only minutes away and found beautiful free camping which was right on the river, with cows roaming and it was alot more kid safe. We had the most magical stay there instead and would definitely recommend. Unfortunately I do not believe this place is worth $150 a night and I wish other reviews reflected this.

Amaroo Mountain Refuge

Amaroo also known to some long time visitors as Snake Valley, is situated on a massive property and backs onto the Toonumbar National park. The property sits at the top of a 2.7km dirt road to the top of a small mountain with incredible views of Mount Lindsay and Mount Barney. The owner (my dad) has spent over 30 years bringing the land back from blade glass to the early stages of rainforest through native seed propagation and bush regeneration. After decades of keeping the land free from domestic and commercial animals, the native wildlife has had come back in abundance and is thriving. Depending on the time of year you could see any number of wallabies, goannas, and echidnas, to countless varieties of birds and butterflies, small marsupials, koalas, micro bats, snakes, and even a few lone dingoes have been spotted from a distance during duck breeding season. Therefore we don’t allow dogs or cats to be brought onto the property. Pitch your tent, or pull up your situation either on level gravel or in a grassy zone however close or far from the communal zone as you wish. The communal zone is made up of a shack with a kitchen sink and a BBQ (BYO BBQ gas or you will need to request as an extra), there is tank water and lights all running off solar, a big long bench table and stools for preparing food, underneath the pagola of this open shack is an indoor fireplace. 50m from the shack connected by gravel paths and garden beds is the hot gas shower and composting toilet, each in their own enclosed dwellings with lights. From the shack and where you camp you will have the best views of the mountains. You will be 100m-ish from the top main dam where you can swim (we just ask that you don’t remove the fish, yabbies or turtles from their homes). The level below the shack is the main house where the property owner lives, and the level below that is the motocross tracks. There are walking and bike paths down to the motocross tracks that avoid going past the main house, if you are riding or just want to go for a walk. PLS NOTE you may be around other people during your stay at Amaroo. There is a small community of motorcross riders that access the private tracks and sometimes camp. If you wish to have the campsite to yourself please msg us before booking to make sure it will be exclusive. Most of the time this property is peaceful and filled with noises of birds and tree breeze, but there are occasions where the tracks will be in use. Motorbikes can get noisy!

You can also hike our property to see Border view camp spot which has beautiful and amazing views of the Border Rangers, you can see Lynchs ck and Warrazambil ck falls in the distance ,you can also look down the valley towards Kyogle and surrounds.There is also an abundance of wildlife on the hike Koala's are often about if you look up for them usually early morning or late afternoon. You will also come across our beautiful Simmental cattle on the hike they are very quite. There is also Fern gully picnic spot on the hike which is a great spot to relax or do some morning yoga at the small waterfall . Children will also find fairy homes. .Fern Gully is a very tranquil. There is a 1km of creek to explore with great fishing spots you can catch Perch ,Cat fish Mullet ,and Carp. The creek is lots of fun to kayak on. There is plenty of creek to paddle and Awesome rapids to challenge yourself. And one of our favourite things to do is fossicking you can find Quartz, Citrine and Jasper.. The Village of Wiangaree is just 4klm from the camp grounds they have great coffee and hot food and also do Friday night meals. And in walking distance of 200 meters is Ferndale Pantry which sells sourdough, eggs, chutneys, cakes and more. We are also a 10klm drive to to the Border Rangers National Park. The Campgrounds are beautifully and are situated on the creek. There are 5 spacious dispersed sites . There are fire pits available and fire wood is available for $20 a wheelbarrow full, just ask on arrival. Rubbish must be taken with you when you leave. There is no toilet, you must bring your own toilet and take home all waste. Bush toilet is not acceptable. Wiangaree have Public toilets. And no potable water. Enjoy your stay at the beautiful Scrub. Your hosts live further back on the property so you can find us if you need help. Please note there is no mobile reception, so it is a great way to get away from it all. There are no bins here... please remove all your rubbish on departure. Campfires are welcome (when no fire ban). You can bring your own firewood, or gather what fallen timber you can find. There is currently no toilet, shower or drinking water so please bring your supplies. Pets possible on request.
