Ludington State Park is a land of waterworks—over five thousand acres of sand dunes, ponds, marshlands, shoreline vistas. There are three modern campgrounds all decked with electricity, showers, bathrooms, (you know the drill). Snag a mini-cabin and really get cozy. For the backpacker crews, take whatever you can carry—brews, buds and grub—and set yourself up on one of the remote campsites. Your four-legged pals are not welcomed in the wading area, so make sure you don’t show the pooch the gorgeous waterline. For love birds and party people alike, Ludington has an outdoor amphitheater in case you have a wedding in the works. Or a fiesta. Any reason is a good enough reason to celebrate in style in a wooded area with beach access, right?
