We are located on 65 beautiful acres in Owen County Indiana. We will be in full totality of the 2024 solar eclipse on 4/8/24. We do require that anyone who chooses to camp on our property has to adhere to our "vegan only" policy while onsite and not bring or consume any animal/fish or dairy products while on the property. For the safety of our animals and guests, visitors are not permitted to enter any of the animal enclosure areas without a staff member. We do offer a short tour and introduction for a small donation. The farm is located 15 minutes west of Indiana Universities Memorial Stadium. The property is nice and private. The farm adjoins the 75 acre Stranger Hills Organic farm, the oldest organic farm in Indiana. Our 1899 Farmhouse is the only residence on the entire farm. There is a 3000 acre farm to our south. The area is quiet and very private. The campsites are in a grassy walnut grove by a small creek that runs along the eastern border of the property. We have a white deer creek cabin tent on a platform there and 3 or 4 nice level campsites to the north. There is a shaded RV site at the top of a small hill with 30 amp service. We can accomadate a large RV on packed gravel with 50 amp serice. the farm is located 15 minutes east of McCormicks Creek State Park. There is a porti -potty and a bag shower in a small building adjacent to the campsites. There is a YMCA about five minutes East of the property.

We are just 20 minutes from Bloomington and Indiana University; 48 miles from Indianapolis Int'l Airport. This is a working farm with lots of livestock, electric fences, and working dogs, so please leave the farm animals alone unless someone from the farm is available and present. Given the above features of a working livestock farm, the quarry ruins, the operative railroad tracks, and the river (not suitable for swimming), children under the age of 18 must be attended by adults at all times.

Fishing is permitted in our pond. *If you are bringing a large camper or RV please pick Sunshine Daydream or Sugar Magnolia.*The Ripple is about 75 yards into the woods away from the parking space.*Fire on the Mountain and Franklin's Tower are approximately 100 yards uphill. Please be prepared for a hike to Fire on the Mountain and Franklin's Tower. It's worth it! We can assist with getting your gear up the hill with our ATV, but unfortunately, we do not have the resources to move people to the top of the hill.* Please note: We are an active honeybee farm and bees will be buzzing around. I can not guarentee they will not sting, but I live here full time and have never been stung outside of opening a hive. So please be aware if you are allergic. About

As Indiana’s oldest state park, McCormick's Creek State Park has been welcoming hikers and campers for more than 100 years. Follow more than 10 miles of hiking trails to natural landmarks like the Twin Bridges, Wolf Cave, and McCormick's Creek Falls; join a guided horseback riding tour from the Saddle Barn; or try your luck fishing along the White River. In summer, you can also cool off with a swim at the Olympic-size park pool. The park has a variety of accommodation options, whether you check into the Canyon Inn lodge, book a family cabin, or bring your tent or RV. McCormick's Creek Campground has 32 primitive tent camping sites and 189 RV sites with electric hookups.

Tips for snagging a campsite

  1. You can reserve RV sites, cabins, and primitive campsites online via the Reserve America website.
  2. Online reservations can be made up to six months in advance. For cabin rentals, bookings can be made up to 12 months in advance and must be made at least two days prior to arrival. 
  3. Campsites can fill up over summer and holiday weekends, so book at least three months in advance to avoid disappointment, especially for cabins.

When to go

The park and campground at McCormick's Creek State Park are open year-round, but many park activities are seasonal, including the swimming pool, tennis courts, and horseback rides. Late spring is a popular time to visit, when the falls are most impressive after winter rainfall and wildflowers begin to bloom throughout the canyon. Look out for ranger-led walks, sporting events, and festivals held at the park through the summer months.

Know before you go

  • McCormick's Creek State Park is located about 15 miles northwest of Bloomington or a 30-minute drive. The closest town is Spencer, where you’ll find supermarkets and gas stations. 
  • There is a per-vehicle entrance fee for all Indiana State Parks, and camping fees also apply. A state fishing license is required if you want to fish along the White River.
  • Facilities at McCormick's Creek State Park include a camp store, a Recreation Center with tennis courts and a swimming pool, a Nature Center, a horseriding stables, playgrounds, picnic areas, and restrooms. The Dining Room restaurant at the Canyon Inn is open to the public.  
  • Pets are welcome at McCormick's Creek State Park, but must be kept on a six-foot leash.
  • There are accessible restrooms, picnic areas, and campsites at McCormick's Creek State Park.
