Where can you meander along a romantic river, view a 50-foot tall tribute to Native Americans, and camp under the wistful shadow of a pristine hardwood forest? You’re right! Lowden State Park encompasses a section of the sweetest little river in all of Illinois, and Blackhawk is a giant concrete statue overlooking the river. It pays tribute to the American Indians who lived here, and is a sight to behold in the setting sun. Come out and hike these lovely trails, paddle your canoe or kayak through gentle rapids, fish from the wooded shores, and fall in love with Lowden State Park.
