Completely private location, 1 mile off the highway on a dusty (but well maintained) dirt road which winds up to the top of a mountain. One can see miles and miles of red cliffs and purple canyons without any hiking at all. Sunrise and sunset views are impossible to miss and the stars are thick and bright. The sagebrush and Juniper trees here are home to the local population
The sagebrush and Juniper trees here are home to the local populations of rabbit, lizard and ravens. Coyotes are often heard in the night calling to each other over distant hills and if you are lucky you might catch a glimpse of the bald eagles that circle this canyon during the day time.
Although its quiet here, the cell phone reception is as good as you'd like it to be and there are grocery stores, shady playground parks, small airport, movie theater and public pool within a ten minute drive.
We are centrally located to 5 national parks (Zions Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Grand Canyon, and Grand Staircase Escalante). Great places to sight see include: Pipe Spring National Monument, Coral Pink Sand Dunes, Peek-a-boo Canyon, Coyote Buttes ("The Wave"), Lake Powell and Antelope Canyon. A sight seer and hiker's haven! Tour Best Friend's Animal Sanctuary, the largest Animal Rescue in the western United States! Find relief from our desert heat with a dip in the local reservoir or rent a kayak there just for fun.
No matter the purpose of your visit you are sure to find the memories you are looking for. At the end of the day kick off your boots and listen to the campfire.
We don't live on the property but we are a phone and a few minutes away. We are happy to help and look forward to sharing our beautiful piece of country with you.

Great spot up high on a hill to see some awesome views! Colt had some great recommendations, including the Juniper Restaurant down the hill. That place was DELICIOUS. Thanks Colt! A great spot for camping with all your friends.
So above and beyond happy with our first experience with HipCamp. Colt with Heart of Parks was amazing. We got our truck stuck in sand earlier in the day and I didn't know anyone else to call so I called and asked Colt if he could recommend anyone to come help us. Within 25 minutes he was pulling our truck out of the sand. I don't know what we would have done without his help! Our stay that night at Heart of Parks was so great. Colt had a camp site available with a really nice tent already set up and the spot was beautiful. We would 100% recommend Heart of Parks to anyone staying in Southern Utah.
What a great first Hipcamp experience! The campsite was private, easily accessible, and run by the nicest people. Site was close to state and national parks. Perfect for a weekend escape. We will definitely be back!
Location is great close to everything. Colt is super helpful and is always available to answer questions. Camp site had everything and was really comfortable. Only one thing that I think needs to be worked on is the campground entrance needs a sign that say heart of the parks and an arrow pointing towards the entrance. It would really help specially if you are trying to find the campsite at night. Other than that, it was a great experience.
Both Heart of the Parks and Colt are amazing! Colt went above and beyond to help us out on a very cold and windy night. Okay it probably wasn’t that cold but we are Southern California pansies :). I can’t express enough how grateful we are to Colt’s hospitality. We arrived at night so when we went outside the next morning, we were blown away by the surrounding natural beauty. Although you drive in through some houses, the camp spot itself is pretty secluded. If possible, arrive before dark because it is difficult to find. Thankfully, Colt stayed on the phone with us to guide us to the campsite. We would happily stay here again if we ever find ourselves on this route again. Thank you so much Colt!
Colt will help you out or leave you alone, depending on which you need — the perfect host!
We found our own spot and made our own sweet fire ring — the view is amazing.
He allowed us to use the toilet in the camper powered by solar panels — no one was staying in there!
The cows and the highway quickly become a very tolerable part of the landscape.
Be sure to hike to and along the cliff nearby.
Beautiful, private campsite. There isn't a ton to do in the area but it's a great location to stay for a night or two if you're hoping to make day trips or leave early for a walk-in site at Zion, Bryce, or Grand Canyon. Colt was a super helpful and communicative host and even brought us firewood when we got there. Turn off from the main road is a little hard to find in the dark so recommend arriving during daylight if possible. Also make sure to take a tour of the Best Friends Animal Society while you're in the area!
We only stayed one night and unfortunately did not get to enjoy the site too much. But the area was beautiful! We arrived in the dark and were pleasantly surprised with the beauty surrounding us when we woke up! The host, Colt, is extremely helpful and attentive!
