in Raven's Nest On Route 66, New MexicoPeaceful nightâs sleep right off 40
Peaceful nightâs sleep, very easy from Highway. Power and water and sewer!! Level spot with gravel, tons of space. Next to house but super private. We arrived late but host still greeted us and made sure we were all set. We slept wonderfully in our RV. The stars were amazing. We initially had a hard time finding the right road bc I40 is under construction and the signs are off. Turn AWAY from the refinery/ travel plaza (road is on other side of highway) and take the first road on the right. Highly recommend.
Creekside Camp #2
in Salmon Creek Ranch, CaliforniaWe stayed at Creekside Site 2 for two nights and it was great. Very close to the road, as others have mentioned, but hard to remember it's a road as there are only a few cars a day and it's a tiny and inconspicuous road. Fantastic grounds for hiking (and dogs can hike too unlike so many other parks/sites!), very quiet, beautiful stream. Amazing farm eggs, etc. available at the Mercantile. All of the campsites are fairly large, but I'd recommend sites 2 and 3 at Creekside as they are more private (or check out the other camps also within Salmon Ranch for even bigger / more private spaces). Sites 1 and 2 are very close together and in site of one another - great for groups. What an amazing space!! Huge thank you to the hosts for making this available.
