Nathaniel was amazingly friendly and helpful. I was visiting with my Rivian towing a trailer. He helped me get my car hooked up to the 50 amp, and I left with a full charge. I was able to dump my trailer too. He was such a great host, so I hate to give him a mixed review.
Unfortunately, my dog (an 80 lb yellow Lab) was attacked when we were walking a few streets away, down Mustang Rd towards the Cibola National Forest for a hike. Nearly a dozen aggressive dogs came out of the horse farm onto the county road, growling and snarling at my dog. One of them knocked my dog over and several started biting at him...I screamed louder than I ever have at the dogs, and they backed off and went away. (Their owner was also yelling from the house for them to come back, and trying to apologize to me.)
My dog is super athletic and extremely fast, and somehow he managed to evade the other dogs and was not physically hurt. But he was a little shaken up.
I think a smaller dog might have been killed, so please use extreme caution walking dogs in this neighborhood. You will also go past numerous houses with fenced dogs barking at your dog. (Most of them are just stressed out, not aggressive, but it was stressing my dog out.) There are neighboring dogs that will bark endlessly at your dog too.
If you do NOT have a dog, I highly recommend this property for RV stays. There's a friendly neighbor dog who may come over, too!

The back in site is gravel, mostly level, and long enough for even our 41’ 5th wheel and truck. It would also accommodate two smaller rigs in line or side by side. The water and 30 amp connections were at the fence lining the back of the site and needed a long connecting hose to reach our fresh water intake. There is a septic connection but it is unclear if it was available to campers. The host has provided a metal fire pit and there is plenty of room for multiple chairs around it although campers should be sensitive to the extreme drought and related fire restrictions. Directions provided by the host are accurate; our GPS wasn’t. Campers should not expect interactions with the host—he rarely emerges from his house. There is a fenced area that would be wonderful for off-leash dogs but the gate was padlocked. Our dog was able to roam a vacant lot across the street without undue concern for her safety. There are coyotes in the area so be aware. The neighbor’s boxer was almost too friendly, having to be shooed out of the trailer on more than one occasion. It’s a no frills place to park overnight or for a few days while exploring Gallop, Window Rock, Chaco Canyon and Shiprock, among other attractions. Would we stay again? Yes.

Great location, great price, responsive host. It was a one night stop for us on our route. They had full hookups and the space was huge! It was big enough for 2 rvs and a tent, but only one set of hookups. The site was nice and level with gravel. It was semi-private and it had nice views in the distance.
We had a couple neighbor dogs come to visit. Normally our dogs would have loved to play but since they were exhausted from traveling and in a new area they were on edge. One of the dogs stayed at our site most of the time. She was very nice and wanted to say hi. She was not aggressive at all, but would jump on our dogs to try and play and they didn't like it. We couldn't get her to go away for quite a while so we stayed in our camper and only took the dogs out when she was gone. She stayed on our steps for a good portion of our stay. We fed her some dog food later because we weren't sure if she was a stray, but after asking the host she does have a home in the neighborhood somewhere.
Overall it is a great find. The price, the location, the size and amenities of the site. We would stay here again.

As advertised. Sweet, flat location with a good view and great breezes. Clear starry night was a bonus. Be aware there is a neighborhood rooster that likes to wake up early; we found it charming.

I am huge on reading reviews before booking and I read some of the reviews that were not the best, anyways we were not discouraged and gave it a chance:)
This was our very 1st stay with hipcamp and we have zero complaints, No issues at all with communicating, the place was extremely easy to find, hookups were right here behind our trailer where we backed in, it says fires are allowed and we would really enjoy a nice fire however, it's warm 🥵 and dry so we didn't want to risk anything. I am actually shocked at how absolutely peaceful, comfortable and beautiful Raven's place is, you will not find anything priced like this for what you get. I am very thankful and we will be back possibly to stay a bit longer than 2 days. Also although this is not my hipcamp rental in hope people are respectful and kind as we are, and as it started pack it up and pack it out. Please be respectful and clean up after yourself. Thank you kindly for sharing your property with us. We truly enjoyed our stay:) We have two service 🐕🦺 animals and no issues at all.

The site was quiet, relatively private, with great views. Directions were clear and easy to follow, site was level, power/water/sewer conveniently placed. I would stay there again and I would also recommend it to my friends.

Overall, a pleasant stay. However I do think a few quirks are worth mentioning. We stayed 2 weeks in a fifth wheel to use as a base to see the Bisti Badlands.
Firstly, this property is not directly on Route 66, rather a 5-10 minute drive. The mesas in the photos are further away than they seem.
Secondly, when reaching out to the host just know you will not get a response and have to rely on her two sons to help getting settled like many others have mentioned.
Thirdly, if you do not see a water hose upon arrival you will need to wait for the sons to get home to bring it out and show you where you hook up. The water connection is between the white trailer and the fence in a black rectangular box about 12”x15” I believe they may bring the water hose inside during the winter when unoccupied.
Other than that, cannot really complain, it served its purpose and was easy to find and back in. Snowed on us about 5-6 days out of the 14.

Perfect for any tiring long commute. We were able to rest comfortably away from the noise of trains and traffic yet close enough to the highway to go back on the road by morning.

We booked on the same day & arrived in the dark at 8:30 pm… absolutely lovely find on our route . The temps we as low as 14° F and we were able to run our little heater . We were tired after almost a 600 mile drive day & missed the parking spot .. it’s marked well with 2 little lanterns . The host answered our phone call & we settled in for a nice nights rest . The dogs loved hanging out with some freedom ( we definitely picked up after them) and we so appreciate that option at this spot. Nice & level gravel spot & quite large . Thank you so much!!!

The day before I was to arrive the temps were to be in the teens. I tried twice to connect with owner but got no reply. I didn't have a 50 foot RV electric cord which she states I would need to connect to power so I canceled in lieu of finding a place where I could connect to power to keep warm. The next day I still have not heard from owner to maybe get a refund but understand that may not be possible but still to not have any communication is not cool.

I am a senior woman who is single, and I drive my van back-and-forth across the country all the time. I love this place. It ticked all the boxes for me. It had everything I needed, the view was beautiful, Melissa was a wonderful communicator, And I felt so safe. It was quiet. I slept like a baby. Very easy to get in and out of. I am going to make this a “go to” stop every time. I drive the 40 from Coast Coast. I will be back Melissa. Thank you so much..

I never did hear anything from the owner, but the directions were perfect, and everything was where it needed to be. Water, sewer, and electric were perfect!
The price was amazing. The location is SUPER convenient to big gas station and interstate. I would stay here again in a heart beat. I just hope someone checks on the owner… never heard anything from him/her and the car outside sat there the whole time. I knocked on door, but no answer.

We couldn't find this property. The directions took us miles out of our way along very rough roads to the top of a mountain. We then backtracked for many more miles, and nothing in the description showed up for us in reality at the location. It seemed very sketchy and confusing so we left.
We could not cut and paste the Google coordinates to find our way. There was no LED sign or marking of any kind at the location.
