in Golden Rocks Permaculture Farm, CaliforniaMy nephew and I had such a great time camping on Brenda's property. It has the feel of group camping with just enough privacy for it not to feel intrusive. My nephew and I hadn't camped together in about four years, so it was a real treat for both of us. Margie, Brenda, and the loving dog Buddy were wonderful hosts.
Past trip
in Hobbit Cobin, CaliforniaWonderful hospitality in a magical
We loved Hobbit Cobin. We loved everything about it. We had nice privacy, with a bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom handmade of cob (like adobe brick, only better). We enjoyed the nice touches, such as fresh coffee, oj, and home made granola each morning. Our hosts were wonderful and very friendly, including the dogs (so don't be surprised if a furry friend comes to greet you as soon as you open your car door! Thank you so, so much, Frances,, Bruce, and Miguel!!

Pottery Studio Tiny House
in Organic Farm Santa Cruz Mountains, CaliforniaThanksgiving pandemic 2020
It was Thanksgiving week during a pandemic, so we really needed a nice rest away from the same four walls. Peace. Tranquility. Beauty. These are what we found. We are convinced that Sophia is such a great host because she understands when to socialize and when to give her guests privacy. The only issue I personally had was the bed. It was a bit too soft for my needs, but then, Iâve had many back surgeries. Thank you for a wonderful visit!

The Cozy Camper
in Where the Fairies Live, CaliforniaWe really enjoyed our stay here! I have had seven back surgeries, and I was comfortable sleeping on the bed. Amy and Janelle were extremely responsive and kind. We couldnât have asked for better hospitality. The sâmore supplies were a great touch. We look forward to staying here again! Thank you!
Past trip
in Columbia Flat, CaliforniaWe enjoyed our stay at the site. Iâve had six spine surgeries, and I found the bed very comfortable. We especially liked the dual controlled heating mattress pad. We ate dinner at Farm to Table in Placerville and enjoyed the Marshall Gold Discovery Museum (we appreciated that they acknowledged some of the atrocities that were done to the Native indigenous people and the Chinese).
Weâre both short and could stand up in the wagon, but if youâre taller (5â10â or so), you might not find it as comfortable. Also, we brought our screen house, which helped in the rain. The umbrellas were nice but not enough to keep us dry when cooking outside. Our stay was peaceful, gorgeous, and private, and the hosts were extremely gracious and unobtrusive. We would definitely recommend.

Past trip
in Mare Island Preserve, CaliforniaWe had a wonderful time here! The kitchen was stocked with all that we needed, and the bed was very comfortable. Unfortunately, I was facing another back surgery, so I was not able to partake of the hike, cemetery, or exploration that the place begged for. We look forward to doing that when Iâm well again. Thank you, Myrna, for being such an amazing host! We hope to see you again!
Past trip
in Hidden Forest Get-away, OregonRebecca and her husband Rico were top-notch hosts. They were helpful without being hovering, always with great recommendations for local shows, eateries, and where to take a raft. They even thought to water the grass before we got there so we would have green but not get wet. The set up is all anyone could want: plenty of space for a large tent and a nice motor home we could use when it got too hot. We hope that, though this was our first trip there, it wonât be our last. Well done and thank you, Rebecca and Rico! You are tops in our book!
Brian hasn't gone on any trips yet.
Hipcamp Hosts can leave an optional review of their Hipcampers after the trip is completed. This is where those reviews from Hipcamp Hosts will appear.

We enjoyed this place very much and look forward to going back! If Hipcamp gave out awards for best host, Blake would get one! The tent and space are amazing, and it is right on the water and very private.

in Bigfoot Basin, CaliforniaSoothing sleep, gurgling creek
We loved the beautiful site, and Tammy was generous and super-nice. We kept an eye on weather predictions and decided to leave one day early so we wouldnât have to be packing up a wet tent in the rain. Our cell phones texted fine, but conversation wasnât always clear. Our 4WD vehicle had no problem on the paved driveway. My wifeâs 72-year-old knees found going up to the bathroom to be a challenge that was easier with hiking sticks. We hope to go back!
