I had an excellent stay on Angela and Jeff's property. I didn't get to meet Angela in person but Jeff was an awesome host and loves talking about the property. There is so many interesting and historical features about the area that Jeff was kind enough to lend my a book about the history of the area and their specific property. It's a beautiful drive to their place and is pretty much situated in between everything. Town isn't too far away and there are plenty outdoor activities to do as well as wineries near by. It's a great weekend getaway! I highly recommend staying on their property.
There truly aren't enough good things I can say about this special spot and how wonderful Angela and Jeff are !! My honey and I spent last Saturday night in the Shepard's Wagon (clean, cozy, warm, everything you really need in case you forgot anything!) and had an amazing time! It was everything we were hoping for in a little weekend get away , Fred (the sweetest pup) Jeff and Angela greeted us and are just flat out kind people who approach you with comfort. We were selfishly happy that we were the only "campers" for the night which made for such a relaxing special experience. The land is well perfect, lots of day dreaming was done while we walked the property to see all the land and views. We went into Georgetown for some local people watching at the Miners Club where everyone was very nice to us newbies. Once we got back to the wagon we joined Ang and Jeff for pre dinner drinks, a Bon fire , and some great stories and good laughs!! When you see their property and the way they go about life it will become quickly clear why they are such happy people. Ang and Jeff finished off our perfect getaway with fresh eggs from their chickens for our breakfast and Fres joined us and our pup for one last walk around.
This place is truly a gem !!
This was a terrific property, with terrific hosts. Jeff and his dog Fred, were very welcoming. Fred and one of our dogs played most of the time and enjoyed romping around together. The wagon was cozy and the fenced in area made it easy to enjoy ourselves without having to constantly keep an eye on our dogs. We loved the fire pit, the comfortable chairs, the bed was very comfortable and the party barn was great. There's a pretty little pond on the property, and so much room to hike and walk. The chickens were curious and Jeff even received two new little piglets while we were there. The pictures of this place on hip camp don't do it justice. The wagon with stocked with a camp stove, fuel, plates, forks, knives, glasses, coffee mugs, frying pan, and a camp pot set. It was even stocked with a dishwashing bin, dish soap and matches. There was a charcoal grill, but we chose to cook on the fire. Our hosts provided firewood. There was a coffee pot, television, lamp, and very comfortable pillows. There were paper towels and grilling utensils. The outdoor shower was perfect, and the outhouse was clean and stocked with plenty of TP. There was no need to go over the hill to the Porta potty.l Jeff brought over fresh eggs to us on our first morning there. We had a really relaxing time here, I would definitely return again. We felt welcome and at home. The fan was perfect during the day, and the space heater and potbellied stove perfect for night time. Even though the wagon is close to Jeff's home, our space was very private and we were left to interact as much or as little as we wanted. Ang was very responsive, answering questions in advance, and even providing directions via text after we got lost. There's a hot tub, Jeff said we were welcome to use it, but we chose not to. What a great hip camp site.
Our visit to the covered wagon was lovely! Not only was there no cell service or wifi (so it was a true escape) but Jeff and Angela have made their home a really hospitable and community-driven space. Their party pavilion is a great place to meet the other campers and their sites are far enough apart get some space and quiet if that’s what you need. We definitely plan on returning with friends!
We had the most magical time staying at Angela and Jeff's wagon near Tahoe and Placerville. We couldn't have asked for better hosts. The setting, the wagon and the surroundings are totally gorgeous and we had the most wonderfully relaxing weekend. Angela and Jeff were fantastic and we had a great evening sharing dinner and drinks with them. The place is super cosy and their attention to detail was perfect! We can't recommend this place enough!
Wonderful place to stay, highly recommend. We were here over Christmas and they were very welcoming, but gave us our own space. Christmas morning we woke up to fresh eggs and a thermos of coffee waiting for us. It was so sweet. They did everything to make our stay perfectly comfortable. A very relaxing and cozy place to stay. We spent our time here exploring the wonderful nearby Marshall Gold Discovery State Historical Park. If you are thinking about going here in the winter don't worry about getting too cold! The cabin has a wood stove, electric heater, and heated pads on the bed and we were plenty toasty.
The Vintage Shepard's Wagon was simply amazing. Jeff and Angela were incredible hosts. The party pavilion was a great way to interact with other campers, while also having privacy in the secluded picnic area near the wagon. It truly was a magical experience and I cannot say enough wonderful things about the hosts. We will be seeing you again soon!

My wife and I had a great time staying in Jeff & Angela's wagon. The site is lovingly designed with a few shaded chairs, a picnic table and gas grill.
After our arrival, Angela brought us some delicious water melon which was perfect on a warm day.
In the early evening we took a long walk ~1h on their huge and beautiful property. There are grassy hills, shaded groves, lots of old oak trees and even a hidden pond.
The bed inside the wagon was very comfortable, but if you are very tall (greater than 6' 5") you may find the bed a bit short. It was perfectly fine for my wife and I (I'm 6'1", my wife is 5'1").
