I'd honestly rather keep this spot a secret but Billy deserves the credit. This is a little slice of heaven. Primitive camping at its finest. Right on the bank of the river, beautiful shade and sun plentifully available. You'll definitely see cows and goats which we loved. Billy was a kind host. He delivered some fire wood, told us about the space and then left us to our solitude. Keep the space clean fam. Preserve this little slice of heaven.
Past trip
in Off Grid Immersion Camp, TexasBeautiful night in a cool cabin
Ultimately we had a lovey time. The little cabin was perfect for sleeping. We were actually really impressed with the ingenuity behind the build. Thereâs also a little battery that kept the fan in the cabin going all night which was wonderful. It was perfectly quiet and right where we parked was a big clearing where we spent a few hours watching the stars.
A few things that could have gone better and hopefully with this note will go better for you:
- make sure the hosts see your booking and sends you a real message. We ended up nearly going back home because we couldnât find anyone or the cabin at first.
- donât just go to the address on the listing. We did and nearly got stuck in mud (turns out thereâs a back entrance)
- bring your own fire wood. We ended up having to skip the fire because the wood they brought us was too wet too catch. (It had just rained so we understood and had our propane stove as a backup.
Pretty minor issues for what was ultimately a perfect evening all things considered. Would definitely recommend if what you seek is your own little getaway in the woods.
Past trip
in Seco Ridge Campgrounds, TexasStunning stars / total quiet
Wonderful site. While we drove by another site or two when we got to ours it felt like we were completely alone. The stars at night were stunning and the combo of the perfectly placed fore pit and tent platform made it an easy set up and comfortable stay. Would highly recommend and may even be back to check out the hammock spot by the entrance

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We lucked out and had the entire place to ourselves. Was incredible falling asleep to the sound of water and having solitude this morning to embrace the river. The rope swing was amazing. Itâs held at just the right height so you can juuuuuust skin the water with your fingers as you glide over the water. Will likely return with more friends.

Aggie Acres

So this is basically a large plot of land for cow grazing. We saw a few cows but they never came so close as to be a concern or anything.
My two boys (8&10) and I decided to try going without a tent and doing some cowboy camping. It went really well. We stayed out of the water. Seemed like because it wasnât moving water it wouldnât be safe to swim in. But there was plenty of land to explore and we went during the week so we were the only ones there.

Wow. What a host. For whatever reason the gps took me to three different places none of which were correct. Eventually she directed me to a gas station and came and met me there. This was at 10 oâclock at night. From there I met her wonderful family as well as a friendly dog and affectionate horses. Never slept better. I hope I have a reason to come back through.
