***Brand new listing*** The Crescent Oak is a custom designed and built open-air cabin that will take your breath away and make you feel as if you have been transported to a destination nature resort. Take a deep breath and leave the stresses of the outside world behind as you step into the forest to follow the tranquil pathway through the trees to the cabin. The Crescent Oak is wonderfully placed among the privacy of the trees and only a minutes walk from the property pond. This enchanting get away cabin is the work and artistry of one of our talented community members. Created with 90% salvaged material and utilizing fallen trees and branches from the trees it sits among, you can't help but feel the consciousness and care that imbued it's birth. From inside the cabin you will be able to fully enjoy the way the space invites the outside in while fully enclosed by protective mosquito screening. You have several options for privacy and protection from the elements with two separate canvas layers you can tie back for the view or let down. The space is thoughtfully equipped with a full size fold away mattress and coffee table to allow versatility and extra room when not using the bed. This off-grid gem even offers enough power to run the light and small fan inside, as well as a place to charge your phone. Cook your dinner over the nearby fire-pit, take the kayak for a spin across the pond, spend some time star gazing, listen to the orchestra of nature, and steal yourself a few moments of peace. You deserve it.

A bit about the land The Crescent Oak lives on....

Our property is a densely forested 85 acres with a walk-able 2 miles around the perimeter of the property and many trails and hidden nooks to explore throughout the heart of this beautiful escape back to our natural roots. We are in the process of mapping out the trails- which we plan to make available soon! For now those of you with a sense of adventure and desire to explore will certainly be satisfied.

We have a full acre size pond and a kayak that you can feel free to use. There is a communal area around the pond that we will be adding to in the near future- you may run into some of our community members or other campers there from time to time, we invite you to socialize, bring a chair, perhaps a beverage or snack and get to know each other and us as well if we cross paths!

You will observe and encounter wildlife in abundance including a variety of birds, wild hogs, opossums, armadillo, moles, spiders, scorpions, butterflies, praying mantis, walking sticks, snakes- keep an eye out for rattlesnakes and copperheads, deer, many insects, and more. Please be cautious and treat these creatures' home with respect for them as well as yourselves. Our property is also home to some lovely cows, chickens, a few dogs, and several cats- they (other than the cows who do what they please) generally remain in areas away from our camp sites though they may still decide to stop by to say hello!

We had an absolutely wonderful time! The cabin is very cool, cleverly designed, and hidden back from the road on a cool little path. Can’t wait to come back!

Beautiful cabin! On private party - perfect secluded getaway. We stopped here on our way to San Antonio and it was just what we needed! No service, very private, and beautiful view of the stars. Fire pit to help stay warm - there is no AC/heat and not enough power to run a small heater/fan, so DRESS APPROPRIATELY! Outhouse for the restroom. No trail lights up yet, so be careful and be sure to bring flashlights for night time.

This place was so awesome!! The cabin itself is worth the stay (especially on a full moon!). However, we thought it’d be a little more private than what we experienced. There are 2 camp sites that are close by and we unfortunately had some noisy neighbors making it tough to sleep. There’s also a train track that runs nearby, so if you’re a light sleeper bring some ear plugs. Other than that, it was nice to get away from the city and unplug for a night! There’s a nice pond with a kayak to use and a fire pit (no grate) on site.
