Past trip
in Lost Woods, TexasSecluded campsite near goats
We really enjoyed our night in site 12. It was secluded and spacious. The large stone fire pit with provided wood is a wonderful bonus. Although the Lost Woods feels like the middle of nowhere, it is actually in town and you can hear some soft traffic noise. Note: There is a small pen across the road from site 12. They were quiet - other than when the owner came to feed them. As a bonus the goats all came over to the fence across the road from our site to say goodbyeđ.

Past trip
in Coastal Rancho Soledad, CaliforniaJoel's home was a wonderful place to stay during our time in San Diego! (We stayed in the Riverside site). His campsites are level and covered with rock, so nice and clean. There is water and electricity right at the site. You will need your own hose. Joel is VERY friendly, personable and helpful...a great host!! Just be prepared for the narrow, long, and somewhat bendy driveway that passes the backyard of other homes. Joel does have a roundabout to make it easy to get back out so no worries there. We recommend his place!

Past trip
in Van/car/tent/small campers WELCOME!, CaliforniaEva's land is beautiful! Wooded. Private. Quiet. She has provided nice picnic tables and fire rings for each site. There is also a grill, though we didn't use it so can't comment on it. It truly is at the end of the Lane and the lane is a bit rough, but worth it. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit ...except for the fact that an electric hookup was unavailable.

We enjoyed our evening in the country. Beautifully maintained with large fire pit and log stump stools. We enjoyed a fire under the stars and woke to a rooster.
A couple notes: the gravel parking lot is about 100ft NORTH of the family driveway (we arrived in the dark and drove right past it).
Also, because we pulled a trailer we didn't drive further into the Christmas Tree field, but stayed in the parking lot. Porta potty is right there. Scott (owner) felt we could have driven down and been able to turn around further into the field...we were already disconnected and didn't check that out.
There is a mild smell of horses. Just an FYI. Overall had a nice experience.

in Yanawana Camp, TexasFull hookups and great hosts
Nice private space and convenient location. For many, the Espada Mission and the South end of the River Walk with e bike rental is literally within walking distance of Gabriella's land. The campground is cozy with just 5 spots. And there are nice touches: Each campsite has its own name, there are multiple bird feeders and picnic tables, and there is a nice landscaped area behind the campsites framed with rocks. We stayed in mid-Match and there were lots of songbirds to wake up to. Gabriela and Clemente are wonderful, warm, informative and attentive hosts. The campground is literally in their backyard and they come out daily to ensure everything is working out for everyone and that all questions are answered. This was a wonderful place to stay during our visit to San Antonio. Recommend!!
