Sweet little spot tucked away in the trees. Hosts were friendly and helpful. Everything exactly as advertised. Would return again.

Very primitive as described, but for the price & close proximity to the park, you canât beat it. Host was friendly, location was safe & quiet with an occasional distant train whistle. Road was a little hard to find the first time & is definitely bumpy but short. Wish the spots were a little further apart since itâs so wide open with little privacy, yet nothing too different than what weâve experienced at state or national campgrounds.
Past trip
in Great Sand Dunes National Park, ColoradoCamped in site #38 & had beautiful views of dunes. Like everyone else says, come prepared with everything you need & it definitely gets hot out there so hike early. My site had some shade but was glad I had more. I was there in late Aug & had no problems with bugs. Cool nights & a million stars. Hard to grasp just how large the dunes are until you are there Would def camp here again & wish I had HCV to go in the backcountry.
Past trip
in Palo Duro Canyon State Park, TexasLooove Palo Duro Canyon SP! Such a gem. Actually camped at the Juniper campgrounds, which isn't listed on Hipcamp for some reason, but I'd imagine any of the campgrounds would be great. The only downside is the seemingly never-ending fire ban. This is a very popular park, so if you can go during the offseason or during the week. Also, it gets HOT and there is very little shade, so definitely suggest fall, winter, or early spring.
Past trip
in Inks Lake State Park, TexasGreat park + campgrounds less than 1.5 hr from Austin. Our site was beautiful + near the lake + felt private considering how close to the bathrooms + trails. Popular park so try to go during the week, but even when busy, easy to find less traveled trails + some peace + quiet.
Past trip
in Big Basin Redwoods State Park, CaliforniaLove camping here under the beautiful redwoods! Can get crowded, but with planning you can find some semi-private ones and/or not right on top of each other.
Shana hasn't gone on any trips yet.
Hipcamp Hosts can leave an optional review of their Hipcampers after the trip is completed. This is where those reviews from Hipcamp Hosts will appear.
