1 day No Overnight LavaTube Visit
in Captain Cooks Lava Tube Camp/cabins, HawaiiBest spot on south big island.
This place is great! Clean toilet. Great shower. Star gazing deck. Host is friendly. Camp sites were awesome. And there is huge Lava tube you can check out. Make it easy on yourself and stay here. I'll definitely be back when I'm on the south side of the island.

Friendly people, and we liked the concept they have going. The water for showers in the morning was great! We pulled in after dark and found our site but we're unclear which sheds and old buildings where which. The one outhouse was overflowing. Some areas of camp a little more run down than we anticipated with more refuse/debris from various historical projects. I'd go back if I was in the area but I'd just temper my expectations.

Serene out here! The quiet stream babbled us to sleep and kept a chattering mind at bay. Owls called to each other from across the valley. Song birds woke us up each morning. I'd definitely come back.
