in Rusty Ranch Tree Farm and Forest, WashingtonLovely farm setting, great for kids, close to fun stuff like Fairhaven and Larrabee SP. Only downside was no fresh water, but weâre used to dry camping so no big deal.

in Rusty Ranch Tree Farm and Forest, WashingtonCutest little bunkhouse! Lovely farm setting. Great for kids. The outhouse is actually delightful, which is unexpected! The only downside is no fresh water, but itâs no big deal to bring your own.

Nice little campsite surrounded by beautiful trees. Our only complaint was the road noise- the road is very close, but fortunately no Jake brakes or anything too loud. Just cars driving past.
Past trip
in Riverside Farm, WashingtonBeautiful pasture setting with mountain views! The creek was so nice to sit next to while our dog played. Dog owners- FYI we had to leash our dog after he was too interested in the horses. We didnât want to pester them. The host was great. Nice peaceful weekend!

Past trip
in Sasquatch Villa, WashingtonStunning views of Lake Chelan and the Columbia River, and mountains. The welcome cookies were too good! Chris and Jennifer were so great, and even helped us when we had a little problem with our new trailer.
I recommend bringing leveling blocks, just because we wanted to orient our trailer for the view and we had to put it in a slightly unusual spot.

This site wasnât ideal for our group, but that wasnât the hostâs fault. It was rougher/wilder than we expected, with rocky uneven ground that tripped the little kids a lot. There were lots of calf-height scrubby plants. There were massive numbers of curious bald faced hornets, constantly running into our faces and getting into tents. Our group was chill and didnât swat at them, so thankfully only one person got stung. Some of our group hid from them the whole time.
About two miles of very bumpy dirt road with potholes- I wouldnât take a low clearance vehicle.
The positive:
Amazing privacy- our group could play music and sing. We reserved both sites to have the place to ourselves.
The wildlife- deer, butterflies, grasshoppers the kids had fun catching, and wild turkeys!
The size- we had a group of about 20, with tents and one RV, and itâs hard to find a site that big.

Donât take your trailer/rv here if you donât have 4WD. We barely made it out, with 4WD. The river and mountain views were beautiful. The camp site had some random stuff in it, like a few utility trailers, some plastic basins full of rain water, and some old dish gloves. The GFCI electrical outlets were finicky and wouldnât work with our trailers but worked fine for directly plugging into appliances via extension cord. The best river view was from a small area, which could could be improved if someone hacked down the overgrowth of invasive plants. The bunkhouse was very cool, and would be fun for kids to sleep in, but we didnât use it. Nearby hike up to the Heybrook lookout tower was steep but spectacular.
Past trip
in Mt Rainier Reconnect, WashingtonScott was a great host and communicated well. The site was a perfect base camp for our Mt. Rainier (Tahoma!) adventures. There was some road noise that was worst on Friday, but got better for the rest of the weekend. Beautiful views of the mountain when it was out!
Rebecca hasn't gone on any trips yet.
