If you’re looking for a quiet non-crowded get away, or a safe private place to sleep for the night while passing through, this spot is amazing. The host is extremely thoughtful (we got the cutest little care package on our arrival), the ground is level for van/rvers, and the tent platform is awesome for tents or a little morning yoga sesh.

Great spot, the schooly is epic and comfy, and the views are insane. We stayed for a few days, working the whole time (cell signal on tmobile and att were great for video conferences). Hosts keep to themselves and allow you to enjoy some peace and quiet no matter what your needs are.

I stay at about a dozen hipcamps a year and this one is by far the best I have ever stayed it. Sierra and Darren have thought through every square inch of their massive property to create a camping experience impossible to match anywhere else. Moreover, you can adjust your experience to suit your needs. Want some solitude? The sites are plenty disbursed and the views are epic. Want to hang with some cool people and socialize? The beer is on tap and so is good conversation down at the common area. There is so much to experience at Free Dog, just go; you have to try it for yourself.

The rusty Nail is an amazing spot. You can feel the love Jenn and Micah have put into the place. They are A+ hosts. WiFi is accessible from their porch and all the bathroom/shower amenities make for a great tent/car camp experience. Not to mention, all the amazing attractions offered by the area. We spent many hours exploring flathead lake - only a 45min drive away.

On our second trip to Griffin Holler we had an even better time than the first. Despite the heat wave and low water in the creek, we found some nice cool pools to dip our feet, and we had quite a few wildlife sightings. The young kids in the group had an absolute blast. Griffin Holler is a magical place and Brian is a fantastic host. Don't miss out!

Remote and private with enough amenities to make it a little more comfy than pure “roughing it”. The roads will require a little more clearance, we have a Honda Element and it was fine. One thing that’s really special about this place is the number and length of trails. I’ve stayed at a bunch of a hipcamps, and this one has everything you hope for but don’t really see. For van lifers this place could be a great recharge zone. Cheaper than a hotel with all the amenities you’ll need.

The sites are magical and the host is a delight.
