Raw land, just what we wanted. Clear directions, central location. Cooooold nights and hot days. The fire helped a lot, plenty of wood around. I would suggest bringing an axe. Mostly friendly neighbors although we were reminded more than once to stay in the designated area.

Site 2 - Wild Heart Forest Camping
in Wild Heart Forest Farm, CaliforniaStaying in the coastal redwoods was an absolute delight! I left the bay a little late, but Jesse was very accommodating. He met me when I arrived and showed me the trailer (available as kitchen space), bathroom, and water. Then he led the way down a lovely little trail to the suggested campsite. I could hear the roaring ocean as I fell asleep. This is raw land and was perfect for my preferred type of camping. The ground was soft and comfy, which I appreciated since I forgot my sleeping pad..whoops! Friendly playful pup, chickens, goats, view of the ocean, and that deep redwood aroma filled my senses! After meeting the rest of the family Saturday morning, I left with a smile and deep appreciation. Beautiful people on breathtaking land! The road to get there is super intense, like a rollercoaster! I giggled and drove very slow :)

Past trip
in Pine Grove Cobb Resort, CaliforniaOur stay was wonderful and exeeded expectations. We set up our tents in the area of the platforms, but a couple hundred yards away. We didn't set up on the platform because the ground was so soft! I actually ended up moving my sleeping bag to the middle of this circle made out of logs and slept right under the stars. The sky was bright with constellations, and I even saw a shooting star. The logs and stumps were perfect as little benches and side tables. We walked down to the community fire pit, and started a fire that we enjoyed for a few hours before heading back to our spot. The crisp autumn leaves left a beautiful covering over the grounds, and the night was just cold enough but not freezing. I went down to the creek in the morning and climbed around the rocks. It was exactly what we all needed, and I look forward to coming back again.

Camp by the creek
in Camp by the creek, CaliforniaMusical creek magic
Camping by the creek was beyond my expectations! I arrived to an easily accessible and well-maintained beautiful property. Under the tree was a table and chair set out, along with a mini fire pit stocked full of firewood and newspaper to get started. I set up my tent and walked down to the creek...which was seriously rushing full and looking much more like a roaring river! Steve is a fantastic host that takes really good care of his land. He cut out little paths and has an amazing variety of herbs that he even shared with me. (Fresh lemon balm....soooo nice!) The downstairs of his home is open to use the bathroom and shower and I am thrilled to say that I got to meet his cat :) I actually ended up staying around the area to explore and Steve showed me a great hike and swimming hole a few minutes away. I also got to share some apples with the horses! The camping spot is in his yard so the house is seen and there are neighbors, but it is on a back road. Other than a few cars driving by once in a while, I could hear his neighbors band practicing which was pretty cool and ended not too long after it started. This is not a secluded site, but I enjoyed every moment. Steve is a talented musician and I very much look forward to coming back again, especially when it's warmer to go swimming!
