Mountainside "Hickory" Cabin
in Mt. Solitude Cabin Retreats, VermontMy stay at the Mountainside "Hickory" Cabin was an enchanting experience, made even more memorable by the outstanding hospitality of Sean.
The "Hickory" cabin exudes a modern rustic vibe that immediately sets the tone for a comfortable stay. From the serene forests to the cabin and the stunning Vermont mountains, it provided the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The views from this property are absolutely breathtaking. Whether sipping coffee on the porch or soaking in the hot tub, the mountains of Vermont serve as an awe-inspiring backdrop. Whether seeking relaxation, outdoor adventure, or a peaceful retreat, this rustic haven has it all. My puppy and I had a fantastic time, and we can't wait to return to this peaceful mountain getaway.
Tiny Cabin in Downtown Belfast
in The Peach Pit, MaineAn affordable and pet-friendly gem
My stay at The Peach Pit, an adorable tiny cabin nestled in downtown Belfast, Maine, offered a charming escape. As a pet owner, I was delighted to find a place that warmly welcomed my furry companion. The Peach Pit's pet-friendly policy was a game-changer, allowing me to enjoy the company of my puppy.
Tucked away in a quiet wooded cul-de-sac, it provides a sense of seclusion while being just a short 10-minute walk from downtown Belfast. The convenience of being able to explore on foot is a significant advantage.
One of the standout features of The Peach Pit is its affordability. In a region known for its scenic beauty, it's refreshing to find a budget-friendly accommodation option that doesn't compromise on comfort. The cabin's cozy accommodations, coupled with its reasonable price, make it an excellent choice for budget-conscious travelers looking to experience Belfast's charm.
The cabin itself is cozy and well-suited for two people. The two bunk beds with mattresses offer comfortable sleeping arrangements, and the solar lantern provides ample light during the evenings. The composting outhouse is a good addition, considering the off-grid nature of the cabin. However, it's important to note that access to running water, which was mentioned in the description, was not clear during my stay. This could benefit from better communication or signage to assist guests.
Green Mountain Retreat
in Green Mountain Getaway, VermontI recently had the pleasure of staying at the Green Mountain Retreat with my puppy, and I can say that it was an unforgettable experience. This off-grid cabin tucked away in the heart of the Green Mountains exceeded all of my expectations.
Nestled atop a hill, it offers breathtaking views of the Green Mountains that will leave you in awe. Each morning, I woke up to the sight of misty valleys and lush, rolling hills. The view alone is worth the visit, and it provides the perfect backdrop for relaxation and reflection.
The cabin itself is lovely and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The rustic charm adds to the overall experience. Despite being off-grid, the cabin has solar for LED lights and a ceiling fan, and a wood-burning stove that keeps you warm on cooler nights. The kitchen is well-equipped, and the comfortable bed ensures a restful night's sleep.
This cabin is a hidden gem in the Green Mountains, and I cannot recommend it enough for anyone seeking a peaceful, off-grid escape. I left feeling rejuvenated and already planning my return trip.
Quick note: Before embarking on your journey, I highly recommend that you carefully review the host's directions on how to reach the cabin. GPS can get you to the general vicinity, it might lead you to the correct town but not necessarily the right street. Trust me, taking a moment to read their notes will save you potential confusion. Happy travels!
Sunrise farm #4 Site: âLILY PONDâ
in Sunrise Farm, VermontA breathtaking view to wake up to
It was absolutely gorgeous and I would definitely go back! And the wild turkeys are a hoot.
If you don't have 4wheel or all wheel drive and really good tires, I do not advise trying to drive down the meadow at night as the grass is long but flat and dewey making it very slippery. I had difficulty even trying to turn around to go back up. Luckily nobody was camped at the first spot at the top of the hill where the picnic table was and Roy was nice enough to let me stay there for the night.
Swamp Grass Lane Overnight Parking
in Swamp Grass Lane, MaineIt was absolutely perfect for my needs. I'm car camping and I was able to make a reservation last minute with no problems! They were very accommodating. And I slept like a baby. It's a very quiet location.
I'll definitely stop again on my way back up to Maine.
Quiet Wilderness
in Quiet Wilderness, New YorkQuiet wilderness indeed!
Quiet wilderness indeed! If you're looking for a beautiful, quiet spot, this is it.
Kaitlyn was very accommodating. I was able to book her site at the last minute for a midweek getaway. I didn't have a chance to pick up firewood, I was able to purchase an affordable stack for my secondevening there.
I'm a car camper, in an SUV that does not have four-wheel drive and I had no problems with the terrain. I pulled right into the spot and was able to set up very quickly.
I would definitely go back!
