Cozy Mountain Cabin
in Cozy Mountain Cabin, VermontSweet comfy cabin in the green mtns
Not too hard to find. Road passable with AWD. Lovely, roomy almost new cabin. Wood stove did the truck, nice Solar LED lights outside and propane and battery lights inside. Decent cell service. Comfy beds. Nice outhouse. Everything you need except, water, food and a sleeping bag. The brook was roaring from snow melt and made for a nice white noise background. Many interesting things to do nearby.
Pine Cone Cabin
in Pine Cone Cabin, VermontConvenient comfy cabin
Lovely, comfortable cabin with electricity, outhouse and a wood stove. It was very cozy despite the single digit nighttime temps. Very easy to find, right off a state highway and convenient to all the natural beauty of Groton State Forest. Thanks for sharing your retreat.
Forest's Edge Tiny Home
in Heartsong Community Farm, VermontSweet tiny house in vt
We loved staying in the tiny house at Phoebe's land. Nice views and babbling brook and pleasant trails in the woods behind her place. It was winter so we didn't get to see the gardens.

Cliff is a friendly and helpful host and guide. He took us around some of his hiking / mtn. biking trails. There are 30 miles of them and he knows every inch. He also gave us a directions and then a lift to hike a nearby mountain with lovely views. One of the quietest places I have ever stayed! The yurt is roomy and comfortable.
Yurt in the forest
in Field and Forest, VermontLovely yurt near a river
Highly recommended! A really lovely place to stay. The woodstove kept the very spacious yurt warm despite the late fall snowstorm. The sound of the river on the edge of the property was soothing at night. Nice woods to walk around in too. Sarah was friendly and helpful when we got there. You'll see various structures that are part of the Roots School of traditional skills that they run there.

Some nice trails in the area if you don't mind driving. Moosehead Lake is huge and very windy so I would suggest paddling on some of the smaller, surrounding bodies of water.
in Pillsbury State Park, New Hampshire
Lovely, lovely especially the walk or canoe in sites. Fabulous hiking and paddling. Feels like you are in the wilds much further North.
