in LilyLavender's Hideaway, North CarolinaBlake R.has mixed feelings towards this listing.
I was the only person camping the day I was there, so I was able to choose which site I'd like to stay at, which was really nice. Site 1 was the most convenient and was private, but also not the cleanest. Host said they'd forgot I was coming and hadn't had time to clean it up. Wasn't a big deal because they had other sites available. I set my tent up at site 2 because it was the biggest and closest to the car. This had the disadvantage of being closest to the host's house, though, and after a while I noticed that there was a pretty foul odor around the site. So I ended up moving up to hang around the fire ring at site 3. This site is really the best option here, and I would gladly camp there again. Very private and in the woods. The hammocks and trails are a nice benefit to that site. You also get a nice view of the mountains through the trees. But you do have to hike a little bit to get there. Not far or hard though, so not really a problem for anyone most likely. If you could guarantee site 3, I'd definitely recommend camping here, otherwise, I might consider staying elsewhere in the future.

(Dispersed site)
Lot's of options of where to sleep at this lakeside place near Norris Lake. There's a tiny house, a couple of apartments, campsites, etc. for you to choose from. All were no frills but clean and simple. No more of less than you need really, especially if you're coming for the lake. There is direct kayak/canoe access to the lake from the property. Unfortunately, when I went they were still recovering a bit from some recent flooding, but this is a hidden gems with loads of potential. Super nice host and a big fluffy dog to pet as well. 7/10

#10 - Creekside Group Site
in Low Meadow Farms, TennesseeAwesome campground just minutes from all the breweries and restaurants in South Knoxville. A couple minutes further and you're right in downtown. But it still felt remote and peaceful. Truly a perfect place to set up camp for a few days of mountain biking, climbing, hiking, and swimming in and around Knoxville's Urban Wilderness. The group site was big and right next to a little creek that was absolutely wonderful. Nice picnic table and a fire-it with a grill grate to cook your dinner. I brought my tent, but opted instead to hang up my hammock in two trees right on the edge of the water. Wonderful little piece of serenity in Knoxville. Would absolutely camp here again.
Full moon
in Blue Ridge Beauty, North CarolinaThis was a great place to camp. The tent platform nestled within the tall brush was a really neat place to stay--made me feel like I was camping in the jungle. Nice views from there and from the fire area. Outdoor shower had actual hot water, which is a rarity. Super cute pup onsite. Interesting art work spread throughout the gardens. And a covered barn with power outlets in case your phone needs a charge or it rains on your camping trip. The host was also super friendly and accommodating. Overall a great experience.
Cicada Grandmother Mountain
in Grandmother Mountain, North CarolinaHost was super nice and accommodating. There was a little mix up about unlocking the gate to the property, but she responded quickly and we got it resolved. The site was really beautiful and totally private. Nice shower area, water pump, raised camping platform, and a creek nearby. Some of the grass could probably be cut to make clearer paths around the property, but otherwise a lovely piece of the NC countryside.
Site 1 - Griffin Landing
in Griffin Landing, North CarolinaThe place was really pretty and easy enough to find, but there was simultaneously a healing retreat at the property when I was there. Not sure if this is a common thing or not. Everyone was super kind, but it was a little crowded and a little difficult to to gauge what the site would be like on a normal quiet night. Host was helpful and understanding.
Marlin's Magic
in Revelation Mountain, North CarolinaThis is a little slice of Western NC heaven. Tucked away off a country road in the woods. The site accommodates a variety of different camping options. I chose to hang up my hammock and enjoy the light coming through the trees. Lovely little fire ring and picnic table. Power for campers. Water hookups. And WIFI! I loved staying here. I also loved the little goats in the gated area nearby. And the brand new grill. Road is a little rough getting in in spots. 2WD cars can absolutely make it in, but just take it slow. An overall outstanding spot that I'd definitely come back to!
VISTA360 Site 1
in CreekStone in Candler, NC, North CarolinaThis place was really incredible. Louedith was a very kind host and very informative about the property and the surrounding area. I was camping in my Subaru Outback instead of an RV but this site would be suitable for a much larger camper. Sunset over the mountains was stunning. The barn there was outfitted with tons of games and places to relax. And the property is close to the Blue Ridge Parkway which is best ways to visit the Appalachians. 10/10 for the site and the host. Would ABSOLUTELY come back here again.
The Backyard
in Spring Mountain Rest, North CarolinaPerfect little spot tucked away on a mountain east of Asheville. Good private campsites are hard to come by in the part of NC sometimes, but this place was great. Easy enough to find. Simple enough to just take some time to unwind. The host was super great at communicating with me and even gave me a tip to a *secret* swimming hole nearby. Great place to stay.
#1 Creekside (tents only)
in Gateway to the Smokies, North CarolinaNice and tidy spot right outside of GSMNP. A perfect place to stay if all the campgrounds in the park are full or if you're looking for a little more privacy. Serene little stream passes right beside the tent platform. Ample space to spread out. The grill is a nice little touch. A little close to the highway so there is a little bit of noise from that, but the stream washes out most of it. I also missed the turn the first time as it's not immediately obvious that a road is there. Otherwise, an excellent spot that I would visit again and would recommend for small groups or solo travelers alike.

Private Campsite / Mountain Views!
in Private Campsite / Mountain Views!, North CarolinaWonderful, quiet bit of NC mountain heaven. Nik was super helpful in the booking and left water bottles and firewood at the site for me. Everything was clean and simple. Stars were super bright the night I stayed. Close enough to Asheville or Black Mountain for anything you'd ever need, but enough in the mountains to really feel like you're getting away. Honestly a top notch spot for car camping. There were bear prints in the mud when I woke up the next morning, but I kept everything stored away properly so it wasn't a problem. Just make sure to keep any food or toiletries you bring in the car or discard of them in the bear proof trash bin at the site. Would definitely come here again for a weekend away to sit by the fire and relax.

Blessing Tree
in Blessing Tree, TennesseeSite with fine. You're really camping in the grass right beside the road--although the road is basically private and very low traffic. Host was very kind; however, she was hard to get ahold of/didn't answer the phone when I called and thought my reservation was for a different day than when I arrived. Nonetheless, she was still welcoming and helpful. Hiking and views are pretty scenic about two miles up the road. Less than two miles to a boat ramp in one of the lesser travelled parts of Norris Lake. It's a really, really scenic area in Tennessee's most rural county. Great place to get away from it all. Cell service out here is spotty at best so be sure to write down your directions before heading out.
