Past trip
in 2 The Rescue Animal Sanctuary, CaliforniaMy friends and I had a wonderful time at 2 the Rescue Animal Sanctuary! Ilana was a great host and took the time to introduce us to the animals and share their backstories. Some of the animals were super interested in getting our attention and affection (Romeo the steer, Geppetto the goat, Sassy the horse, to name a few). In the morning we woke up early to help feed the animals and it was absolutely worthwhile, even with the early wake-up time. I would recommend 2 the Rescue Animal Sanctuary to anyone who loves animals. At the end of our stay I didn't want to leave. I hope to come back again soon!
A note on the RV accommodations: Our group of four people opted to stay both in the RV (two of us, including myself) and in the camping accommodations (two more)-- the tent camping option is listed separately on Hipcamp ( "Camping with Rescue Animals"). I would highly recommend either accommodation option. The tent camping has more amenities than many of the campsites I've stayed at (e.g., hot and cold potable water). I've never stayed in an RV before and I was blown away by the convenience and comfort that the RV offered.

I stayed at Harrison Serenity Ranch for two nights in a small group. There were great views to the south and to the west. We had lots of privacy and no issues with noise (ours or from others). The hosts and staff were all very friendly and helpful. Facilities were clean. Ensure that your group is prepared to drive in dirt, gravel, and sand on the way to and within the property. Trucks and SUVs with AWD or 4WD should have no problems. I can see it being an issue for 2WD and/or low clearance vehicles. Our group included smaller cars that made it just fine, but it wasnât as easy for them as it was for the folks in SUV/truck-style vehicles. I would happily return to the Harrison Serenity Ranch for another trip.
Annie hasn't gone on any trips yet.
Hipcamp Hosts can leave an optional review of their Hipcampers after the trip is completed. This is where those reviews from Hipcamp Hosts will appear.
