Connect with nature
Ilana is a wonderful hostess, but more importantly, she is a wonderful human being who is committed to the well being of all the animals at 2 The Rescue Animal Sanctuary Camping.
The place is wonderful for kids that love animals. My 7 year old was happy looking to the chickens and the cow. The host was very kind and encouraged everyone to pet the animals. Kids also love learning how to feed horses, pigs and chickens. Moreover, there is a story behind everu animal at this animal rescue sanctuary.
We are a family of 4 (both our kids are under the age of 7) - we visited the farm and took their trailer. The trailer itself is big and spacious and a really good size for 4. The farm is wide and large and has ducks, hens, a turtle, cows, pigs, alpacas and horses. It’s an absolute treat for kids - they were super excited to be around farm animals. The owner was available for helping us whenever we needed anything. We also liked the fact that by staying there we were helping these rescued animals. Overall the experience was pretty good - we did have to cut our visit short because there was extreme heat wave that weekend. The owner was understanding of this and gave us a refund for that night. Overall great experience, and we hope to go back when it is a little more pleasant.
Bring close-toed shoes!! haha
Ilana is such a kind, generous, laidback person. She goes out of her way to make sure your expectations are met. She was so wonderful with my 5yo, and once you’re given the rules of every animal’s pen, you pretty much have the run of the place! There are a few animals you can only get close to (like the horses) if you wear close-toed shoes—so bring them!!
Also, the RV was awesome. It’s spacious and comfortable—AC works great, and the pillows were soooo comfortable. My son thought the RV was the coolest part and wanted to spend all his time in there, lol. We’d never been in an RV before, so it was v. exciting for him.
My son was OB-SESSED with Thor the giant Great Pyrenees and constantly invited him into the RV to cuddle on the couch.
The ground is very dusty, so don’t wear your best shoes! And I’d bring a few comfy camp chairs to sit out in at night. There are a few chairs provided outside the RV but a camp chair would be cozier.
We’ll be back!
