Private, secluded, and peaceful.
This was such a great experience! The site itself is tucked back into the furthest part of the property, up a long dirt road that slopes upward. While you're the furthest away from the firewood and the water/toilet, you also have the most privacy and seclusion. Beware that if you're looking for "clean" glamping, this site is dirt, and your gear -will- get dusty...but then again, who camps and expects to stay clean? ;)
There's an endless list of things to do all around the area. I highly recommend paying $5 for a day pass to visit Milo McIver Park, where you can hike, swim, dip your feet in the Clackamas River, play disc golf, or have a picnic. Also, make sure to go to the PGE Hydroelectric Plant's hiking trail system on Faraday Road. After a 5 mile hike down a flat and paved portion of the Old Clackamas Highway, you pass the dam and end up at the North Fork boat launch, where you can take a quick dive off of the docks or cool down at the water's edge.
I could not have asked for a better trip. The hosts were always in communication when needed and even offered up extra firewood for no charge when it was unexpectedly cold for a few nights.

Past trips
Orchard Overlook Site #1
in Hurlys Hideaway, OregonGreat trip, great site!
The site was very private and secluded toward the top of a long dirt road. Mark was a wonderful host, and provided free fresh eggs for our morning breakfast. The site is very close to the beaches, the Tillamook Creamery, and town for supplies.
Tent/Small Trailer/Camper #1
in Fish Rain Farms, OregonQuiet and peaceful camping
Camping here was great! There was a lot of space and privacy in the spot where I was placed, and while there were other people on the land, we rarely heard them. Plenty of shade and blackberry bushes all around, as well as a horseshoe pit and a clean porta-potty. The Tillamook creamery is right down the road, as well as quite a few boat ramps. In all, this was a great trip.
Coast Range Serenity
in James & Patricia's Oasis, OregonPerfect for stargazing.
I could not have asked for anything else. James met me at the property just as I was walking in and explained all of the local spots to me. Plenty of grassy space was there, as well as a canopy, potable water, and the composting toilet. There were some mosquitoes, but some bug repellent did the trick.
In all, the environment was perfect. I slept in a hammock and didn't even use my tent. There wasn't a single noise during the night except for the frogs and occasional squirrel on a tree branch. If you can get out here during a clear night, do it...the stars are AMAZING.

Horseshoe Field & Creek Campground
in Horseshoe Field & Creek Campground, OregonGreat creek and campsite!
While it was extremely hot during the stay, luckily, all of the campsites had plenty of shade, and the owners of the property were friendly and always there to deliver more water or to answer any questions. The spaces were large, clean, and there were portable toilets nearby along with soap and handwashing stations.
North of the property there was a sandy creek with the clearest, coldest water, and it was such a peaceful place to cool off as the sun was overhead. While I was there a few other people from town stopped by and told me that it was their favorite place to come during the hot weather, and I could definitely see why. The water was only a foot deep or so in some spots and over 10 feet deep in others, so be careful of the depth if you choose to trek down the bank.
All in all, this was a great experience and I would not hesitate to recommend Horseshoe Field & Creek to anyone looking for a nice, quiet getaway. I'm definitely heading back as soon as I can!
Site 2 - Welcome Back Woods
in Welcome Back Woods, OregonBeautiful and bucolic
This is the second time I've stayed at Welcome Back Woods, and it was just as wonderful as the first time. Many improvements have been made to the property, including a ton of new spots, a porta-potty, and accessible drive-up camping through the lower portion of the land. Will & Meredith were there to greet me, and were available anytime I needed anything. My dog absolutely loved the large open pasture and stargazing at night was breathtaking. I can't wait to return!
Site 1 - Welcome Back Woods
in Welcome Back Woods, OregonBeautiful land and amazing hosts!
Amazing and relaxing to camp here. The hosts are wonderful, kind, and attentive to everythibg you could need in a camping environment. There were a lot of spaces presented to me where I could set upâforested woods, an open area with a great view of fields, and near a large amount of fruit trees. There was a ton of woods to explore with wildlife all over the place. I had such a great stay, and I can't wait to head back.
