Places to see near James & Patricia's Oasis
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
James and Patricia's Oasis... I totally understand the name. An incredibly easy spot to find, manicured walking paths, covered places to sit, fields of blackberries and all near a small but very scenic pond.
Far enough away from any cities that the skies are great for watching the stars. Very friendly hosts. What more could you ask for?
This place is great! Trying to get away from the city for the night? This is for you. Going to the coast, want to get a head start on the drive after work without doing the whole thing? This is for you. The hosts are wonderful and the stars are something else. We wish we had known to bring cash to buy eggs from the owner, she does $6/half dozen. Great little spot outside of Portland. They bring down water and firewood and the composting toilet is cleaner and nicer than others.
Highly recommend staying here!
James and Patricia were wonderful hosts, keeping in contact with us about the details of our stay there. The campsite was also serene and enjoyable to stay at and the stars were incredible! Thanks for hosting us!
James and Patricia have a really sweet spot. The diversity of wildflowers and birds is wonderful! They provide a canopy with a wicker couch and small table, a patio fire pit, and a charcoal grill - all of which made camping in the rain much more doable. BYO charcoal! I would also recommend bringing a cart (or asking for one when you arrive), as there is a bit of a walk from either parking option. We were early in the season, but ample mosquito protection will be necessary within a few weeks, too, since the spot is right next to a pond. We all really enjoyed our stay.
