in 5D RANCH, TexasWe had a great time with our group on 10 (including 6 kids). The are was very well kept and the area felt private even though there were a few other campers on property. Weâve been here several times before and weâll be back again.
Past trip
in 5D RANCH, TexasWe always enjoy our time at 5D. The open spaces, trails and lake make for a great weekend getaway. Things are always well kept and you never feel like you on top of other campers, we stayed during spring break and the campground was full but it didnât feel busy. A great place to get away. Weâll be back.
Past trip
in Broken Oak River Park, TexasBeautiful spot on the bank
We loved tent camping at site 6. Itâs a beautiful spot on the bank of the river (creek) with plenty of trees and an amazing table. There was also a stone fire pit and a small table for a camp stove or food prep. The site is perfect with plenty of room for 1-2 large tents and a flat area you could use for games or parking extra cars. The road into the site was fine for a minivan and probably would be fine even if it rained as itâs mostly grass covered. The campsites are well spread out and we didnât even know there was another camper there until we took a walk around the very well maintained trail. The creek was mostly dry but we found a couple fishing holes and were able to catch some small fish. We will definitely be coming back.

in 5D RANCH, TexasBeautiful shade trees and privacy
Site 7 didnât work out for us so Julie promptly moved us to another site which was great. The site was perfectly shaded and very private. Even when campers came to the nearby sites we still had plenty of privacy with trees between each site. There was also a well maintained outhouse within walking distance. Always a great experience here.
Past trip
in Bluff Creek Wilderness Preserve, TexasBeautiful, quiet spot by the creek
My family (2 adults, 2 kids under 10, 2 dogs) had a great time at the Grove on Bluff Creek.
The site is set on a bank in the bend of the creek with the forest on the camp site side of the creek and a wide open field on the other side, just past the tree lined creek. To get to the field you have to cross the creek and go up the opposite bank. It was easy for us because the creek was dry but if it were full it may be hard to get to the open field.
Once entering the property you will drive ~.4miles, taking you to the end of the road near the creek. The road is a little bumpy but is navigable by car. Just take it slow. It may be a little touch for a car if it rains. We were the first to camp at the site so there was a ~100ft path to walk down to get to the camp site, however I understand there is further clearing happening right now which will allow you to park very close to your camp site. We were provided a cart to haul our goods down the path which was a life saver.
The site itself is in a beautiful spot and really well laid out. We had space to set up our 8 person tent on a fairly level spot. There is an outdoor dining table with 4 chairs which provided a nice place to set up our small gas cook top and eat our meals. The fire pit, which includes a swivel grill top, is on the creek bank so you can sit and enjoy a fire while looking over the creek or up through the trees to enjoy the night sky. There are solar powered lights that stretch the length of the site and provided enough light so we could see to walk around but not so much light that it ruined the ambiance. The lights stayed on for at least 3hrs but probably have more run time than that. There is an easy way to turn the lights off and on as well. We were also able to hang our hammock between two perfectly positioned trees (you'll know it when you see it). The toilet was an awesome addition. It's close enough to the camp to be convenient but far enough away to be private and avoid a smell. This is a great added luxury. Additionally, there is potable water available at the entrance to the property.
Overall we had a great experience and would love to return.

in Bee Mountain River Resort, TexasScenic stay by the river
Andrew G.recommends this listing.
(Dispersed site)
We spent a 2 night weekend at tent site #4 (there are 5 tent sites). Bee Mountain is a huge, beautiful area right on the river bank and across from a rock bluff. You definitely feel like you are out away from it all, because you are. No houses or road noise, only the occasional motorboat during the day. At night you can listen to the breeze and all of the night creatures. Cell service was bad (which is fine cause youâre camping) and you are a good 15-20 minutes from a convenience store.
There are 5 tent sites at the end of the dirt road the runs through the camp. The 5 sites are quite large and go from the riverbank in the front to a small hill in the back. The sites vary in length but it looks like sites 2-4 are the largest. The dirt access road splits the sites but is only travelled by your tent camping neighbors so it isnât heavily used.
Each site has a nice stone fire pit and grill on the riverside. The view is beautiful. When we were there is was windy and rainy for one night. The only place there was standing water was on the dirt/gravel road running through the campground but our minivan made it through easily. There was only a little standing water in the tent area from the rain but it dried up quickly.
When we stayed all 5 sites were full and one site had quite a few folks partying. They were never any trouble and we could barely hear them at night but something to be aware of. You arenât on top of people but you will be well within earshot and sight of your neighbors.
We also bought a load of firewood which was enough to give us two good evening fires with enough leftover for a third fire.
The restrooms are closest to the campsite 5, which is the first one you come to. However, they are not noisy or disruptive and people wonât be walking right through your camp to get to them.
We took part of a day and went to Dinosaur Valley State Park which was about 45mins away. Itâs a nice, peaceful drive though the hills.
Overall we had a great time and would recommend it.

Site 3 - Middle Bosque River Camp experience
in Middle Bosque River Camp, Texas50 amp RV Mockingbird site
in Coyote Creek Farm, TexasA beautiful piece of heaven
We spent a weekend here with our two kids in an 8 person tent and some friends who have a pop-up camper and the site was perfect. It is a large site secluded from the other four sites on the property. There is a covered porch, plenty of trees, a fire pit with a large and small cooking grate under the trees, a composting toilet which is very well maintained and away from the area you would set up a tent or camper, and a little play house (where the composting toilet is located). The adjacent property, also owned by Regena, has a large, well groomed walking path through her beautiful property which leads to a stocked catch and release fishing pond.
Our friends found it easy to set up their camper, get it level and hook up the electric. There is also water available near the porch and electric hookup. In sitting to the camper hookup there is a standard outlet for plugging in common items like a fan or phone charger (there is cell service if you need it). The site is close enough to Waco to get something if you need it (about 15 mins) but far enough away that you fell out in the country.
Regena is an amazing host. She welcomed us when we arrived and maintained the site while we were there by cleaning the toilet and taking out the trash. We spent some time talking with Regena about her wonderful property and she truly is a joy to talk with. She also has activities for the kids.
I highly recommend any site hosted be Regena.
