Cute little shed/cabin.
Nice little secluded spot. But still really close to the town center and a short drive away from some great nature preserves.
We were able to wander around a little and took advantage of the tree swing to stargaze.
The cabin had the necessities, minus a toilet and shower obviously.
Looks like there used to be an outdoor shower which would be a great option to have.
The bed was actually really comfortable! The couch..could be ungraded to something a little newer, but I appreciate that it offered a pull out bed option.
Communication was timely and instructions were clear.
Overall, I would definitely stay there again.

Jen's Cabin in the Hill Country
Our recent stay at Jen's Rustic Cabin in the Hill Country near Austin was an absolute delight. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the coziness of this quaint cabin.
The cabin itself had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, from a fully equipped kitchen to a cozy living area. We immediately felt right at home.
One of the highlights of our stay was the serene and peaceful atmosphere surrounding the cabin. The location was perfect for those seeking a tranquil getaway. The cabin was nestled amidst the beauty of the Hill Country, providing us with a sense of serenity that is often hard to find. We enjoyed spending time by the fire sipping coffee and taking in the peaceful surroundings.
The drive to the cabin was equally enjoyable, as we were treated to lovely scenery along the way. The winding roads through the Hill Country added to the sense of adventure and anticipation. It truly felt like an escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.
Another perk of staying at Jen's Rustic Cabin was its proximity to Johnson City. This charming town offered a range of excellent dining options. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring the local restaurants in particular Bryan’s on 290 and indulging in some delicious meals.
We will definitely return when we need another escape. And don’t forget to order eggs from Jen’s chickens! There are very few things better than farm fresh eggs.

Camp Jen Getaway
Camp Jen was exactly what I needed when looking to disengage from the city. The cabin had everything I needed to cook with and make my pot of coffee to start my adventures. Outside the cabin, wildflowers were in full bloom and accompanied by an assortment of butterflies everywhere.
Since the cabin was not far from Pedernales Falls State Park, I was able to spend a day out there as well and clean up in the river. If you do need provisions, Johnson City is also right down the road.
Overall, it was a great experience and would definitely book again if I need a quick getaway.

We loved staying at Jen’s Camp! It was such a peaceful getaway. Staying at the camp, or exploring the river and Johnson City was such a blast. I highly recommend this lovely stay 10/10!

This was the perfect place for a solo get away. The land is so pretty, and the river is only a 10-15 min walk! Even with it being super cold outside they have a small space heater that was perfect. The owners are really nice and respond very quickly. The small kitchen area is perfect for quick meals. I think this camp would be great for year round camping. They do have a dvd player and tv which was great on my solo trip. I never felt board or like I didn’t have something to do!!

We really enjoyed our short but sweet getaway to Jen’s Cabin! It was remote and just what we needed! The bed was cozy, and there was a TV with a good selection of DVD’s. Disappointed we didn’t take advantage of the nice fire pit outside!
Jennifer is a great host, and her communication skills were awesome! A nice little gem!

Please stay here, it’s great
This place was a much needed retreat and place for our small family to be refreshed. It’s a small cabin but really had all we needed and much more!
We especially enjoyed the nice fire pit with lots of wood around, cooking grate, huge cast iron skillet and dark night skies where we could see so many stars 🌟
So much to do in the area, and Jen thoughtfully shared games and childrens dvds so that our 7 year old was entertained. I hope to be back soon!

Nice little cabin! It was nice to kick back and watch a movie after a day of hiking. Jen was really great with communication. We had a great stay!

Cozy and super homey!
Jen's Camp was a hidden gem! Even though it was rainy and overcast the 2 days we were there, it was a beautiful property with lots of wildlife! The cabin was nice and cozy, with plenty of amenities. We can't wait to go back again!

Little escape near Pedernales Falls
Great place to escape. It rained pretty much the entire time I was there, so I didn't get to explore as much I would've liked. The cabin had just about everything you'd need for simple comforts, and the aninal visitors were good entertainment.

Perfect camping cabin with everything you need to cook, and a mini fridge. The bed was super comfortable (need to climb a ladder into the loft). Loved being able to feed the deer in the morning with the deer feed provided! Such a great spot and Jennifer was so kind and helpful. The sky was amazing at night! So many shooting stars. Bring a blanket to lay on:)

A/C living!
The selling point to this listing is the ice cold A/C. Nothing better in the Texas heat. They also have a heater for the winter months. There were lots of deer, and the bed was cozy. Would stay again!

Great cabin!
Super cute cabin perfect for stargazing! Ac worked well, nice counter space and some appliances for easy cooking, very comfy bed and good amount of space. We saw foxes and deer and it's very quiet. The bed is on a platform very cozy upstairs and it stayed cool all night! Hope we can go back soon!

Camping with AC during Texas summer
We really enjoyed Jennifer's place. We enjoy camping wanted a weekend getaway to visit a winery in Driftwood and do a little hiking. The Texas summer heat has kept us away from camping during the summer, however this cabin was perfect! We had AC, so our wine purchases didn't spoil in the heat, and we were able to disconnect from (most) technology for a night and enjoy nature. Jennifer's place was easy to find and very clean.

Staying at Jen's cabin was a treat! Great to have space to sit outdoors and enjoy the breeze, nature and deer sightings, or to cool off inside in the AC. We loved swimming and hiking at Pedernales Falls State Park nearby, and it was an easy drive to Johnson City and Fredericksburg. When we visited in May, the county had issued a burn ban so we couldn't build a campfire and there were low water levels in the river (not quite enough to bathe), so don't bank on either if you are visiting during a dry period. Overall, highly recommended!

It was extremely relaxing, the deer are cute, the chickens are adorable, and the cabin was cozy and had a charming feel. The smell of the wood was a bonus. Definitely doing it again.

Deer, seclusion and peace.
Always out favorite place to stay. So secluded and quiet. Beautiful stars at night. Air conditioning, power and running water make this an amazing luxury but rustic feel.
I recommend Jens place highly.
In Johnson city the people are amazingly friendly as well but the only good place to eat is the burger place but that is also a welcome treat.
Jen is an amazing host and the entire experience allows you to really separate as much as you would like with Johnson City being only ten minutes away.

Great place to relax
The bed was super comfy. We enjoyed the peace away from the main road and access to the area we had planned to be in. We haven't tried our eggs yet, but are looking forward to cooking them. Jennifer was very responsive and helpful. We were only there one night but loved our stay and accomodations. Unfortunately there is a fire ban so we could not enjoy a fire and smores.

This was such a beautiful place to live for a day. We explored the land, said hi to Jen, such a down to earth and beautiful person, and stared at the stars for hours. Everything we needed was there for a comfortable stay. I hope to come back again, it’d feel like home.

Peace and quiet and stars!
What a perfect get-away! I wanted a place that was barely one step above tent camping, and the cabin at Jen's Camp is so cozy and perfect. Just enough electricity for the basic creature comforts, clean running water, and I'm fine using my own "Luggable Loo" bucket in lieu of a flush toilet. (A similar bucket is provided if you don't have your own.) Well-mown paths to wander, no traffic noise, gorgeous night sky with no light pollution. While I wasn't able to have a campfire (Respect the burn bans, y'all! For real!) I was able to enjoy the bright moon and stars! Was visited by chickens, deer, cats, and one friendly hummingbird who zoomed inside to say hello. :-)

Lovely rustic cabin
We had a great weekend at Jen's cabin enjoying the wildlife - deer, foxes, chickens, and cats - as well as the trails and nearby river. Jen is just a short drive from the activities of the state park as well as from the shops and restaurants of Johnson City. Jen has been there for 20 years and had lots to say about living there. We are happy to recommend this hidden gem.
