When we first bought this land in 2021, we had a vision to create a place where we would share our land and let guests experience the beauty of the Texas hill country. Our goal was to have a comfortable place to stay while being close to downtown Johnson City and the Texas 290 wine trail. Only a year later, we're thrilled to open Johnny Yurts. We've already created a lot of amazing memories ourselves and have enjoyed hearing stories and seeing pictures from our guests as well. We're so happy you found us and are looking forward to hearing about your amazing stay!

Each yurt is 452 square feet with plenty of space for up to 4 guests to sleep in 2 queen beds. Our kitchenettes have an induction cooktop with provided pans, a toaster/oven combo, and mini fridge. For every yurt pod of 4, there is a modern firepit and wine-barrel soaking tub. The property has a beautiful tree grove with Adirondack chairs and picnic tables for relaxing or socializing. Guests have private gate access to the property and their individual yurt. All property access is provided via codes so check-in and check-out are a breeze. Located in the heart of the Texas Hill/Wine Country we are the perfect location to start your Hill Country experience. We are a 4-minute drive to Johnson City, a 35-minute drive to Fredericksburg, and have roughly 50 wineries within 25 minutes of the property. For the outdoor enthusiasts, there are three state parks located within 15 minutes of the property (Pedernales Falls State Park, LBJ National Historical Park, and Blanco State Park). Enchanted Rock is roughly a 50-minute drive from the property. *Note: Please check https://www.jcvfd.org/ before you arrive. If Johnson City is in a burn ban, firepits will be closed. Occasionally, Johnny Yurts will also close fire pits when conditions are dry. Firepits will be removed during these times.

Lovely site, host was responsive and helpful, the yurt was really comfortable and had everything we needed, and the hot tub was awesome at night with all the stars! Highly recommended!!

Love glamping now!
The Prickly Pear
First time glamping and Johnny's yurts was the perfect choice, easy instructions to enter the property and the yurts were just as the pictures. Nice and quiet area, close enough to the highway for food options but not too close to hear any traffic. Favorite part was the hot tub and the visibility of the night sky full of stars.

Great Yurt Time
The Prickly Pear
Came to town just to visit Pedernales Falls. This was nearby, It was a very nice spot and had about everything we needed. The natural lighting in the yurt was lovely. I didn’t expect the very loud wind hitting the yurt at night, it might’ve been a windier night than usual, but it died down after a while. I’d love to come back sometime and bring more friends along too!

What a treat to spend a night out here! The yurts were absolutely lovely, had everything you could want and more! The beds were cozy and comfortable. I will be back and soak in that tub next time! Highly recommend.

Everything is included, you literally only need to bring food and clothes. The yurts are so clean and comfy. Complimentary wine, mugs and hats. VERY comfy beds with plenty of blankets. We originally booked one night and booked a second within an hour of arrival.

Perfect getaway!
The Lavender
We stayed in lavender it was really quiet and peaceful, our yurt had everything we needed inside and was clean. The bed and pillows were really comfy. Complimentary wine, Johnny Yurts gear and water was available along with towels to wash up with and pool towels. Heater and air condition was available so we stayed warm. The soaking tub worked great and stayed hot. There’s many places to go eat locally and places to enjoy. The only thing I wished went different was that we had more time! Thanks for the stay and definitely will return and recommend to others!

The Freetail
I loved camping at Freetail. I loved being in the nature. The hot tub was very warm, it relieved all my stress. Only thing I wished extra, was a grill. However, they have an induction unit, a pan, and a pot. I would definitely come back

Johnny Yurts was so pleasant and relaxing. The yurt had everything we needed and the hit tub and fire pits made the experience much more memorable. I will totally be visiting again.

The Freetail
This was a great glamping experience. The yurt was spacious, with a full bathroom, shower, kitchenette, AC/Heating, and some additional bonus amenities. There's also a wonderful shared firepit and hot tub/soaking tub. It was definitely an upscale glamping experience.

Great experience ! The yurts were beautiful and much bigger then expected . It was a little warm when we originally arrived but once the AC was adjusted it was very comfortable . The beds and pillows were comfy as well . Definitely recommend and we will be back
