The Farm was originally named 2nd 4o by my parents. They planned to live the 2nd forty years of their lives together on the farm. My parents both grew up on the southside of Chicago - where having a tree in your yard meant that you had "made it". They decided to use the land to grow Christmas trees. This did not last long :) but the saplings my dad planted by hand are still here & maybe 70' tall!
Then my husband & I bought The Farm in 2017 for the 2nd forty years of our life & my parents built their little house right here. My husband and I immediately knew that our dream was to grow a different kind of "tree", so in 2019 we were among the first group to receive our license to grow hemp. We are passionate about both the hemp and cannabis plants!
In 2020 when it finally became legal to grow cannabis, we immediately added that to our garden as well and 2nd 40 to 420 was born, or shall I say planted. We currently rent out our 2 RV's 3 Yurts & primitive sites , we also offer group bookings & Canna-friendly B&B options. We plan to add septic & electric hook-ups for RV's in the near future.

yard to set up with picnic area and firepit. The animals on the farm are a dog, chickens and ducks. Traveling south about a mile down the road you will come to water for boating, fishing, a bird sanctuary and a kayak launch. Going north about another mile you will come to a Kingdom of Jehovah's Witnesses where the public is welcome to attend on Sunday morning at 10 and on Thursday evening at 7.

Welcome to this historic place! We are glad you chose to stay on our property. Take a walk back in time down the path and see the old corn crib and hog pen where hogs once fed our family and may others. Just past that on the right is the foundation of the old cabin that once was home to the farm workers who tended to this land.
Just past that you will find a more modern block barn that was used to store tobacco as it began its journey to the market. A little further down stands an old tobacco barn where the fresh picked green tobacco was hung high by our great grandfather and his 4 kids, while a small fire burned below to cure the tobacco.
Continue down the main path until you come to a fork, turn right and head down to the low grounds where you will find a cool water rock bottom creek to wet your feet and cool off.... If you travel up or down the creek you might just find a nice deep swimming hole to take a dip in! Follow the path up the hill and into the tall stand of hardwood trees and pines where if you look closely you might see some rock formations of years gone by! Across the road from the front gate and house you can walk down the path that winds around the plantation pines until it opens to an old farm field that in days gone by were planted with lush tall green stalks of tobacco, corn, beans, and hay for cattle. Walk through the field and into the woods. Keep a sharp eye out for Indian artifacts as this was their home once too along the river which you will find if you walk through the hardwood trees just past the field. Ahh the Hyco River, This is our property boundary but you can follow the river all the way to the bridge, or fish and swim anywhere you can find a safe place to do so at your own risk. You may here coyotes in the distance at night, or early in the morning you may be awaken by turkeys calling out from their roost!
Please be respectful of others that may be in the property when you are, it's 400 acres so pleanty of room to spread out and make memories! Please have camp fires contained in a fire pit and extinguished completely with water before leaving. That means no smoke or steam and you can touch the coals and not get burned! We ask that you enjoy our property as we do but keep it clean and remove all trash when you leave.

This was a wonderful stop for us. Both the host were incredibly nice. The location was beautiful!!!
We saw lots of fireflies and the view of the stars was amazing.
The location is one to keep an eye out on as they plan on adding more to it.
The only downside was there were ticks, just make sure you check for them and you are good.
If given the opportunity again we 100% would come back.

Accommodated me on a same day request. Everything as pictured. Host was thorough, welcomed my dog and I. Unique experience with the farm, large property for a night time and morning walk. Woke up to a rooster and peaceful sunrise. All amenities were available as mentioned, such as RV hookups (electric, water, sewer). As a solo traveler, great option for me. Ideal stop at the Virginia - North Carolina border. Will keep as a future accommodation.

Great vibes on the land, and if you are into the world of medicinal plants, they are abundant! I had a great time spending moments with Lucretia by the fire and making medicine with her. There’s a converted school bus greenhouse and some trails in the back leading to a tree house. Lucretia has such an open, free-spirited vibe and the land reflects that! Khalid was out of town but I’ve met ju and he has such a sweet vibe as well! Hope to catch him the next one.
Perfect spot the park my truck and sleep and I checked out the Campervan, it’s SO AWESOME. Definitely stay there if you can. It’ll inspire you what you can do with a van set up. Hope to be back soon 🍄🟫

What we liked: The site was convenient to the lake, the store, and to several boat ramps. Was really fantastic to be able to use the neighborhood dock/boat slips and pool (thank you!). Mary was super responsive and accommodating. Loved having a fire pit and sewer hook-up. Location was quiet, and we were actually able to line up both RVs in a train to access the sewer connection and still be on the leveled gravel area of the site, which was a plus.
What could be better: no potable water. I assumed using a filter would help, but even with in-line filter, water was discolored coming into camper.
Suggestions: it was a bit difficult to find the entry at night, so a light there and another back near the hookups would be super helpful. The area around the gravel site was very muddy, and I had read on a former review there was plenty of room so believed I could turn around and ended up getting hung up in the mud. Was also conscious of not wanting to damage a septic field. Maybe providing a site map for check-in to help folks understand best way to back in and/or turnaround would help?

Camping at Lacretia and Khalid's land is such a beautiful vibe! I travel and live in a short bus and there was more than enough room to park and be comfortable. There's a fire pit that truly came in handy being that it was below freezing and while being outside we still were warm. 10/10 recommend to families and single travelers!!
