Close to several state parks, including Torreya, Three rivers, Seminole, Florida Caverns, and Lake Talaquin forest. At this time I can host 1 RV or camper with full hook ups, 3 RV sites with power, water and 1 boondock (no power/water) site but large enough for an off-grid/self-sustainable RV. I'm always happy to show folks around and share the story. Please note: During the rainy season the grass may get a bit long at times. You can also expect to experience a wide variety of agricultural activities, outside of quiet hours of course. Born out of a dream that started 10 years ago when I acquired 40 acres of forgotten and unmanaged rural woods. Having dug right in with the help of the Florida Forestry Service, FWC, IFAS, NRCS and a very knowledgeable private forester; we developed a conservation management plan to restore it to its native state. The neighboring land became available and happily added another 40, I've learned so much on this amazing journey. 25K pines and a great deal of sweat equity later, it is time to share and encourage others to join in on the conservation efforts and make sure it's around for future generations.

Some stay over on the way to the beach or southern Florida and revisit on their way back home and even some end up staying for a couple of days when they are surprised at all there is to do. Also inquire about snowbirding or a possible work camp opportunity. Please plan on visiting and check out all the great things to do so close. On our farm we grow Christmas Tress, have 2 beautiful cypress ponds full of waterfowl and fish. Also there are green lanes and fields and if your lucky you can catch site or deer, turkeys, all sorts of birds maybe even a cute baby armadillo. In just over 45 minutes you can be playing on the beach in Panama City Beach, (world’s most beautiful beaches). Something a little different is just a few minutes away Falling Waters state park (Florida's tallest waterfall) and a swimming hole with walking trails. Speaking of swimming Ponce De Leon spring is big and beautiful clear blue hole spring to the west. Or go east to Marriana, about the same distance and you can visit Florida Caverns (Florida's only touring cave) with a beautiful spring with swimming, and hiking there too. We have guest also go to the Econfina Springs and canoe rental and spend a day floating the beautiful Ecofina River with 8 springs to visit on a days float. There are many State parks so close. If you want to go out to eat or socialize a local brewery and restaurants are very close and beautiful Alabama too! We are super easy to visit if you are coming from the north out of Dothan are on Interstate 10 we are just Located 1.4 miles North of Interstate right on Hwy 231. Easy access to the interstate, fuel and shopping. The farm is gated with a remote controlled gate for security. All our RV sites have full hook ups with 15, 30, and 50 amp connections, great clean water and sewer at each site. Also a dump station on the property. So if you would enjoy visiting our beautiful getaway we would love to have you and we strive to show all our guest how much we appreciate them visiting. This was an amazing private getaway!! The site was clean and easily accessible with the ability to pull in and out. No backing necessary. This was just the quiet new years getaway we were hoping for. We will definitely be back to paddle board the beautiful chipola river when it warms up!

Weekend Trip to The Outside Inn

This is a wonderful, peaceful, hideaway, that is a bit off my normal route of travel, but totally worth the trip. This is a completely dark camping experience with plenty of room for larger rigs needing hookups, primitive camping, and boondocking. This camp is well run and clean. It will force you to slow down, take a walk, and appreciate a true escape. William is friendly and very interested in making sure things go well. I completely enjoyed hanging out with him. I particularly enjoyed the peace and quiet and utter silence at night.

4 nights at "Sweet Tupelo" on the "Big River"!

What a beautiful and serene spot to spend outdoors! We tent camped and the space had everything we needed. The other two spots were far enough away that we didn’t feel cramped. There were two RVs with families in those spots. They were extremely respectful. We had plenty of room. We loved all of the furniture, the fire pit, and the grill set up. We used extra long (2-100 ft) power cords to get electricity to our tent so we could heat up our electric mattress pad. The fog on the river in the mornings was magical. The only thing I would pass on is to bring earplugs for those who are tent camping and are light sleepers. As another commenter mentioned, there are dogs in the neighborhood that tend to howl and bark a lot at night. I don’t think it would bother anyone in RVs, but it is something to think about if you are tent camping. That said, it would not stop me from coming back!! This was an amazing space and I hope to bring my kids back with me next time! I highly recommend driving an hour to Merritt Mills lake which is in Marianna. It is a springfed lake with gorgeous Cypress trees and clear water. We took our kayaks and thought it was one of our best kayaking outings. We also drove an hour south to Saint George’s Island. This camping spot is prime location for exploring.

Weekend Trip to Sweetwater Daze River Camp

I really enjoyed my stay, Jay also left me a bottle of honey, which I really appreciated. The facility is especially recommended if you are with a group of friends, because the space is a lot and it already has a firepit (no grill) with armchairs disposed all around it. The place in itself is really peaceful and a great way to escape the everyday life. I personally went there to visit the caverns in Marianna and to go kayaking along the Chipola River. 10/10

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Having full hookups and a nice fire pit by the river made it very comfortable. We also appreciated its location and were able to visit the Caverns St Park and Hinson Conservation area for some nice hikes. We launched our kayaks from the steep stairway, with caution - but no issues. Good location for dark sky watching too.

Weekend Trip to Twisted Trails Camping

RV and primitive camping spots are located in close proximity to a few lightly traveled roads, but worth mentioning if someone has concerns about trying to camp in a really remote location. I like that they have some wire fencing around perimeter of the property to help keep out most wild animals and to indicate it as privately owned property along with the signage. I really like that there is an outdoor under cover potable water deep sink available and hose with nozzle for rinsing off sand from boots or other things that you should not rinse in a sink. The port-a-potty was spotless and has an automatic light that turns on when you open the door. It is worth mentioning that there are dogs that bark on occasion from what seems to be neighboring properties that are quite some distance away, as well as early morning roosters, but was not really a concern for me due to the white noise that I had running inside my sleeping setup (fan and light music). These are all sounds to be expected when visiting a country setting and nothing that seemed to go on for an unusually long period of time. One of the owners Sherry is incredibly friendly, responsive, flexible, understanding and accommodating. When I visited it was around the holidays and I think I was the only "camper" on the property. I booked three nights, however due to family obligations I was only able to stay one night. Even though I didn't ask for any refund for my unused booked nights, Sherry was quick to do so...very kind.

Weekend Trip to Fort Whimsy

The host was super friendly, greeted me once I pulled up and showed me to my site. There is a clean restroom with sink for use, though it is a compost/pump your own water situation, it’s private and easy to get to. There were plenty of birds to sky watch, saw a baby deer and a cute wondering doggo. My first night here I was informed there was a meteor shower by the host, it was a happy coincidence! The sky was super clear and looked like magic. Sunset and sun rises are beautiful. Though it gets cold in the winter so be sure to pack accordingly. I wore 3 pants and two jackets to bed along with 4 blankets and was pretty comfy. But any less and I’d be too cold to sleep lol Felt very secluded, though you can see a few cars coming and going on the road, no one was raving engines and it was far from constant flow. Maybe a car or two in the morning and evenings. Can’t hear any sirens horns or the other stuff that’s common in cities.

I loved tent camping at Maggie’s. Everything I would need was provided: hot shower, clean port-a-potty, and a partial kitchen. Maggie and Michael are the bests hosts I’ve met in my 5 months of traveling. I was met and shown around when I arrived. These two have great musical talents and a lot of stories that I really enjoyed and learned something from. I would absolutley stay here again and may even make it a must stop when in the area.

Weekend Trip to Goat House Farm

I loved tent camping here! I have been here once before and wanted to come visit again—especially since it is in such a great area. The ammenities (bathroom, potable water, and commons room) make it all a little more comfortable without necessarily taking away from the beauty of being in nature. The farm animals are almost always very gentle and sweet, and the farm dog Toby was super loving and protective. The Goat House Farm were very sweet to all of us and answered any questions we had.

Sweet Tupelo was the perfect spot for our family campsgiving! This was my first time using my new travel trailer, and everything about the setup was perfect for easing me into a new way of camping. The view was incredible and we had loads of space and privacy. My niece told us that when she has kids she will bring them camping at Sweet Tupelo!

We had a great time spending Thanksgiving on the river. Jay is a fantastic host, very responsive, and even helped us out of a bind when we locked ourselves out of the camper. Our shepherd loved being able to play fetch and not be leashed up, and the site is super clean. We will definitely be back when the river levels are up to do some more fishing.
