Just go a little bit further until you see the sign for Camp Seminole Spring. Bring bug spray and sun screen. If you need something, don't worry! There is a Dollar General, a gas station and a small cafe within walking distance. We have 38 acres of camping sites nature trails for hiking and mountain biking. Guests can park right on their site, or they have the option of parking and hiking into the woods to set up their site a bit more remote and off the beaten path. This is rustic camping. We have a bathhouse located at the campsites with showers. The bathhouse at the Great Lodge hereas we do have garbage cans, we prefer that anything you bring into the property, you bring out with you. We allow campfires. The fishing is amazing in these parts, so if you are an angler, come and visit. We have .75 miles of frontage on the Orange Creek. The creek flows into Lake Ocklawaha which just so happens to be one of the best bass fishing lakes in the USA. In fact, ten-pound bass are not uncommon from the Lake Ocklawaha River in the winter. Recently (2020), a 17.2-pound bass was caught there. The combined Ocklawaha and St. Johns drainage basin is possibly the most significant river-estuary waterway of Florida. This water system is of legendary reputation among anglers of largemouth bass who seek 10 pound plus trophy fish. Conveniently located between Ocala and Gainesville in the heart of Orange Springs, Florida, Camp Seminole Spring is perfectly located for the traveler who wants to really connect with nature. It appears to be ‘off the beaten path’, yet it is close enough to civilization so that even the most seasoned camper can make a quick run to store should he or she need something not found in nature. Camp Seminole Spring is mid-way (approx.. 22 miles) between Ocala and Gainesville, Florida, which are two thriving cities in this area of Florida. Ocala, the ‘horse capital of the world’ showcases a brand new multi-billion-dollar equestrian center which draws people from all over the world. This scenic property has an artesian spring which pushes out 1.6 million gallons of water per day rated among the top three percent of water in the world with an 8.4 natural pH. This water fills the pond and then continues on to flow into Orange Creek. Camp Seminole Springs was established in the 1940’s as a honeymoon resort and campground. The founders built a heart-shaped ‘pond-spring’ which is filled with the crystal-clear water pushed out from the spring where guests can lounge by the beach or gaze down into the bottom through the glass-like water or take a refreshing swim. What does that mean for you? Three cabins are now available for the coveted opening weekend of Scallop Season - June 19-21. Don't wait too long to book! We offer three Amish built log cabins at our RV Campground. Fisherman and Hunter's Cabin has a one bedroom with queen size bed and a set of bunk beds in the living area. They sleep up to four people. Two burner stove top, full size microwave and refrigerator. Full size bathroom with large walk-in shower. The Gator Hut offers a queen bed with a bunk bed over and sleeps up to three people. The Campground is fenced and gated and we are pet friendly. There is a laundry facility on site for the guests. There is a fire pit if you want to relax. In the summer we have a stock tank pool (opens in April) to cool off after a long day on the water. Steinhatchee is located in Taylor County Florida along the Gulf of America. Inshore and offshore fishing is year-round. Scallop season is June 15 to Labor Day. More than 20 springs are located within 45 minutes of Steinhatchee. Too numerous to count are the Florida Wildlife Management areas that are accessible by car and allow for bird watching and animal siting of deer and wild boar. Steinhatchee River is a kayaking, fishing and paddle boarding experience. The local restaurants/Marinas are within five minutes of the campground. Live music is available at the restaurants.

Lovely stay and the hosts were so kind! We will try to visit again in the winter, to really enjoy the outdoor space this property has to offer! The tiny house was roomie and had everything we needed! You’re close to springs but still feel off the beaten path!!

3 nights at RUNNING SPRINGS RIVER RETREAT

My family and I absolutely loved staying at Kelli's place again! We always have so much fun hanging down on the dock by the river. Whether we are fishing or on our tubes it is so relaxing no matter what you are doing! Her house has absolutely everything you need inside and outside. We definitely always enjoy the campfire downstairs. Of course she has all the stuff you need for grilling out etc.... This was the second time that my family and I have been out to her place and we will definitely be back again! We highly recommend taking a vacation at Kelli's place Running River Springs!!

Weekend Trip to Camp Seminole Springs

Beautiful little spot, I wish we could’ve stayed an extra night. The trail around the property is so pretty, especially at night. I loved being able to take the dogs into the spring in the middle of the property and kayak around it. The glamping tents had everything we needed and more with a beautiful view!

Weekend Trip to Friendly's River Retreat RV

This was such a nice secluded place to stay overnight on a longer trip- Kids had so much fun just walking around catching lizards and wildlife and learning right outside the door! Shower, ac, WiFi, parking, fridge and all was perfectly good and useful Would definitely recommend this I would download the surrounding area on maps so you can navigate without connection to WiFi, it is very secluded! Also recommend getting food from outside the city because it’s very sparse, stock up on gas too!

What a lovely escape. I stayed at Trudy and Greg’s eclectic rescue farm in the colorful tiny house accompanied by all the chickens and roosters that provide the fresh eggs for breakfast and your alarm clock in the morning. They made it very welcoming and the inside was cozy, cold a/c, a frig, and tv …with a full bathroom that I appreciated as a “glamper.” The animals were a highlight! Shin their pup could chase a ball forever and he was a delight. Ms Calico came for dinner every night. The horses loved extra treats as well. They try to make your experience one to remember with a painting station under the big oaks and the star gazing is something you have to do! Walk the trails at sunset and enjoy a roasted marshmallow by the evening fire.

Weekend Trip to Camp Seminole Springs

The glamping looked same as the pictures mentioned in here. The glamping that I booked had 4 beds, 2 chairs, one night lamp, one heater, 4 power outlets, small barbecue, private attached bath (toilet, shower, sink, mirror, only cold water, shower was slightly broken but didn’t stop me from bathing, may be we could ask them if they have an extra shared bathroom). A wooden outdoor table for 4 or 6 people. A campfire arrangement. They will provide woods, you may ask them for lighting them. I brought my own matchbox and all. The glamping I stayed had a beautiful pond or spring view. They had boat, kayaks you can use them. I don’t know if we can borrow from them for outside activities. Site was clean and fresh. I had privacy. I stayed safe there. You got to ask for wifi and password. Bring your own bedsheets, pillows, etc., I would recommend this to my friends and family. I would book this site again for my future trips.

Nice and cozy, tucked away in the trees. It was so peaceful, calm, and quiet. A great spot to just get away from the craziness in the cities. Cabin was nice and clean, bathrooms were really nice, outside shower was nice touch.

We could have stayed at a hotel in Gainesville, but nothing compares to sitting on the porch of Quatermoon under an almost-full moon, sipping wine and chatting with our wonderful hosts. We have been here several times and will be back.

Found Beth’s campground and loved the small hut. It had everything one could ask for. The town was quant and close by. Loved being close to the river. Would certainly recommend it!

Hey fellow hipcampers! If you have never been to O'Leno State Park before I have to recommend crossing the suspension bridge and taking the O'Leno Sink trail. Bring the cameras and be ready for picturesque river scenery and plenty of wildlife!
