This was originally a Girl Scout camp called Singing Pines back in the 30’s. You’ll see as you roam around some of the original buildings and structures. It hasn’t been in operation as a Girl Scout camp for over 30 years. The bigger building is an Airbnb for groups. They will also have access to the lake.
DIRECTIONS:
Take Exit for Angeles Crest Hwy (Hwy 2) from the 210
Go North, up the mountain for 29 miles
Turn left on Sulpher Springs Rd
Go about a mile and you will see a Singing Pines sign up on a hill on the right side.
There is a white gate which is usually open but if it's closed go ahead and open it.
Go down that driveway about a mile and turn left at the fork.
Follow that road down and around the lake staying to the right. Once you passed the lake there will be a little uphill and the location is on the left.

The Skoolie is a converted short bus with two love seats that convert to an RV queen bed, sink, stove top, dinette, and over head lights. Outside is a private meadow with a short walk to a small lake. You can bring your fishing gear. It's stocked with Bass and Bluegill. Outside the Skoolie is a picnic table, fire pit (firewood $10 a bundle) and a hammock. Up the hill, a very short walk is the private campground toilet facility. This is not shared with anyone else.
No cell phone reception no linens bring a sleeping bag or warm blankets. You can charge your phone in the Skoolie for a sunrise alarm or just to take pictures.

We also have a playground with swing set for kids to enjoy.

Only 10 minutes walking distance to the lake. Parking good four 4 cars. If more than 4 cars are coming, you still can find spaces for the 5th and the 6th car at the farther curve space, but please never obstruct a neighbor's right of way.
Other things to note
For dining, besides other restaurants, Hortencia (before Cliff Hanger) is a famous, great-view Mexican restaurant, which was in the movie "The Next", 15 minutes away, Tudor house food with a fantastic show. "Sky Park" is a recently opened adventure park. Kids will love this place, Snow Valley is the closest ski area. Don't forget to enjoy the beach of Lake Gregory, where you can swim in Lake Gregory in summer. Shopping at Crestline Village (Lake Dr.), many times you can find an antique of great value! Staying one night is not enough.

Our three simple rules are no smoking, no pets (sorry, no exceptions), and no grilling or bonfires, as we are surrounded by trees. To make your stay comfortable, we provide a microwave and mini-fridge in the cabin. Our restaurant is open for dinner, and there is a convenient little market open late just next door.
The historic Twin Peaks Lodge is nestled away in the San Bernardino National Forest located in Twin Peaks, California. If you are hoping for a quaint cabin tucked away in the pines with vintage mountain charm and a little haven of peace and tranquility, then look no further.
Built in the 1920s and designed to embrace the natural landscape of the majestic San Bernardino Mountains, the lodge offers the cozy comforts of home. During your visit, enjoy a relaxing stay surrounded by the picturesque setting of the forest.
Guests have access to the entire cabin. Please note that mountain weather conditions can occasionally affect streaming and internet connections.
The Twin Peaks Lodge is a historic mountain hotel built in 1924 and is listed on the California Historical Landmark registry. We provide towels, linens, bedding, pillows, and bath soap, and suggest packing some extra toiletries and personal items for your stay. We have prepared this cabin for your arrival and will clean upon your departure, as there is no daily housekeeping.
To reduce the risk of wildfire during severe weather conditions, Southern California Edison reserves the right to temporarily cut electrical service to its customers, which is beyond our control. Guests understand that there will be no refunds for power outages or internet interruptions and happily accept the unlikely inconvenience for the sake of preserving our forests.

I love the privacy Star Ranch offered! The campground was well equipped. I didn’t know the two cabin was included on the reservation, so that was a bonus that we all loved! The covered common area (kitchen, dining) are awesome. We were so ecstatic about the flushing toilet and hot shower!! Overall, this place is amazing!! If you want privacy and do not want to give up luxury and comfort, this place is for you!! Thank you Osman for hosting us. We will be back for sure!

Perfect spot for our family of four (7mo old and 3 year old). Green Valley Lake was a great area to stay in and the house was very and clean and welcoming. Our daughter loved the games and books and there were many other thoughtful touches. Would recommended and definitely stay here again!

I had a very peaceful night at Star Ranch. After driving from Texas for 11 hours, I was so ready for a good night’s sleep. In the morning I woke to the sound of nearby chickens clucking, and a barred owl hooting off in the distance.
The A-frame was a lot more spacious than I thought it would be, having seen the pictures of it on HipCamp. The campsite would have been perfect for a small group, but I was happy to be there on my own.

Went with our 2 large rescue dogs and they loved it. The place was clean and well equiped. It was cold outside at night but the heater worked great. Instructions on how to reach the parking were detailed and easy to follow. Its a really great spot and so close to LA. If you bring your pets, a set of shoes for your furry friends would be a good idea due to the broken glass that pops up in the sand around the area. Our dogs had shoes so no worries for them. As with any off grid space in the California desert, wildlife is a thing to be aware of. There was a family of large coyotes that passed by one afternoon, so keep any eye on your pets. Would definitely come back to enjoy the spot again.

Villa Macala is a great place to visit. You can tell right away the hard work the farm staff puts into the place! A lovely orchard in the foothills.
The farm manager, David, couldn’t have been more helpful and such a wonderful man to meet.
I was on a bicycle trip and stayed in the teardrop and slept like a baby. I would definitely recommend a visit and be sure to get some of their great products. Olive oil and pomegranate jelly.. say Hi to David, from his biking buddy Eric!

The A frames with bedding and lighting offer a quiet retreat after being outside and exposed to the desert. This is especially true during the windy month of April. The outdoor flushing toilet sink and shower are private and airy. There is also a partitioned and inviting kitchen/gathering space for cooking and eating at a table. We walked, and walked in every direction from the A frame (since it is tucked away from the road) without having to cross a street or intrude on neighbors. We saw wonderful birds and wildflowers, various Joshua trees and jack-rabbits. We heard coyote in the distance. Devil's Punchbowl is a short drive away...and must be experienced. Lake Los Angeles is a 7 minute drive away and has a Dollar General store...which has everything food, drink, necessities related. Osman created a very welcoming outdoor and indoor space that is well lit and safe and clean and warm and quiet...we loved out stay.

This place was so fun and peaceful to stay at! Will be back for sure. It had great views, great amenities, and easy access to a town about 10 minutes out where you can get anything you need. Loved the projector and pull down screen to enjoy movies and cuddle up in the cutest dome tent for the evening.

Great place to camp and even better place to kayak/ boat. Came for the weekend and was easily able to set up at a nice spot with a table and pit!
