The L3 Ranch was founded in 1974 when my grandfather bought the property for his show cows. In 1978, someone gave him a racehorse to pay off a debt. From then on, the property was known for its Quarter horse race horses, with some of the best in the state being born right here. In 2013 he found our he had cancer and handed the ranch down to me, Travis. While he survived the cancer, he's happy in retirement playing cards with his buddies every week and hanging out with his dog.Now the ranch is known for its horse boarding, cattle, and goats. We even hold weddings and events at the lake sometime. My main goal is to bring the ranch in a more in line with sustainable ranching. Its a process, but I love what I am doing, and where the ranch is going.

This is an animal farm. If you love new animal experiences, this is the place for you! If you are scared of or allergic to cats or dogs, this might not be the place for you! If you can't handle new smells and sounds, this might not be the place for you. You will feed and enjoy the animals; please respect their space, no chasing and no going into their enclosures.
There is dirt, dust and various country critters. We love Country Life!!

Another option (as an add-on): you can pitch a tent for $45.
"The Flying Pig" has a queen bed, bunk beds twin size, and a loft with a twin mattress, all bedding included.
You are not just paying for a place to sleep; you are paying for an experience and the enjoyment of our property :-).
We serve a continental breakfast (free) or hot breakfast ($35/cabin) between 8-9am.
(we can accommodate vegetarian and dairy free diets; let us know before you come).
We provide bedding and towels. There is A/C and a plug-in heater in The Flying Pig. Please do not bring additional things to plug in except for chargers for phone/electronic devices.
We are approximately 1 1/2 hours south of San Francisco,
30 min south of San Jose (without traffic).
Gilroy Gardens is 15 min away; Harvey Bear County park is 1 mile away; Monterey and Santa Cruz and the Pinnacles National Park are approximately 1 hour away.
We recommend bringing dinner or eating before arrival to maximize your evening.

Heart Valley ranch hosts 300+ acres of rolling pasture nestled along the beautiful Jackass Creek. Access to Yosemite via 120 takes 1 hour , Groveland 10 minutes, and Coulterville 5 minutes. You’ll find cows, goats, chickens, llamas and our two beloved livestock dogs on the property. Many pools to cool off in and sweeping sunset views from the highest point on the property. There is lots of nature to enjoy including bird watching, seasonal wildflowers, and other wild animals.

Wondernut Farm is an upstart, entirely off grid, working farm-stead being built from the ground up. We breed milking goats and sheep, heritage pigs, and are in the process of converting to a grade A dairy and creamery! We use organic practices, management intensive rotational grazing, and dryland pasture management. We sell our animals locally so that others can have their own milking and meat animals. Our 110 year old hay barn and the roof of the former lumber mill were all we had to work with in getting off the ground.
Being first and foremost a functional farm, we can't help but offer a somewhat warts-and-all look into everything it takes to be working to our goals. Our hearts are, and always will be, educational and local community focused, and we work closely with farmers and friends alike in better understanding our innovative animal husbandry, power, pasture and water systems. Whenever we have time, we'll afford the same time and opportunities to interested hip-campers.
Our location is stunning and historic, and the beauty of the wild, natural landscape is powerful, yet offers easy access to both Yosemite Valley and the San Francisco Bay area. The area features excellent road and mountain biking in the immediate vicinity, vast access to hiking and backpacking trails, a huge variety of rock climbing in the area, the best whitewater rafting in California on the Tuolumne River, with some tasty places to eat or drink coffee in the nearby town of Groveland, just 10 minutes away.
Accommodations at the farm are certainly rustic, and private but not secluded, with occasionally heavily project-exploded shared kitchen and living space, showers, and airy flush toilets.
Do be advised that animals are pooping, hammers are hammering, sometimes we need to look into a health or animal injury related issue. Sometimes there is blood in an animal birth or slaughter, and our working guardian dogs have been known to be noisy some nights. Water and electricity are both very limited (though we reuse all our water), waste must be carefully sorted into a number of different categories, and there is always evidence of ump-teen projects unfolding at once. The most difficult condition during much of the summer are nuisance flies, which are always gone at night. We have almost no mosquitoes or ticks.
Depending on the exact situation and time of year, guests may have the opportunities to snuggle with baby animals and run our herd to or from pasture, and maybe even get their hands dirty picking veggies in the garden.

We are here in Gilroy Ca, on a rural 2 acres just outside of town, further up our road is Coyote Lake to go boating and fishing and Harvey Bear park to go hiking and horse riding. Santa Cruz is a 45 min drive West over hwy 152 and San Jose is 30 min North on 101 and keep going a bit more and you will be in San Francisco.
Here at home we raise several different kinds of lives stock. Goats for meat and milk, Sheep for meat and wool and eventually milk, Pigs for meat, Rabbits for meat and hide, Chickens, Ducks and Quail for meat and eggs. We have a garden and small orchard with nearly a dozen fruit trees of different kinds : loquat, a few apples, plums, apricot, peach, fig, persimmons and my favorite the pomegranate! We process everything ourselves using ancestral techniques and love to share and learn with others.
Id say the main draw back here is the traffic noise but beyond that, We are quite lucky to have very a green and Id say an oasis of a property, with multiple large palms trees surrounding the pool area and a large weeping willow tree in the main yard/sheep pasture. At the NE corner of the property is a very large oak tree, it is majestic and with the tipi door open to the East the big oak is the first thing you'll see every morning besides the suns rays!
The entire Northern property line is rowed with 60ft tall redwood trees and there are a smattering of citrus trees around to boot!
The freezer is stocked with in house meat, the BBQ is hot, the pool is cool, come relax after a day on the trails!

The Space
What to Expect
A million stars on clear nights and crisp mornings overlooking the rolling hills through large, picturesque windows. Peaceful surroundings with minimal traffic on the area's only road. Life moves a little slower out here on the ranch, so take your time and savor the simple pleasures of cooking, visiting, and unwinding.
These rustic homes were built in the 1930s and retain many original details, including charming chippy paint on the original-pane windows. We are also on a well that is rich in minerals, so expect rust-marked porcelain tubs and a distinct mineral taste in the drinking water.
We are a working cattle ranch. When the cows are grazing in the lower pastures, you'll hear and see authentic ranch life in action. There may also be friendly ranch cats hard at work keeping the mouse population in check, along with local wildlife that occasionally meanders through on its way to the nearby watering hole.
Guest Access
Guests are welcome to enjoy the yards around their cabins and the shared covered outdoor kitchen at any time.
Please do not enter any of the white outbuildings or the areas behind them.
With permission, guests may access the ranch trails outside of the PG&E camp. A signed liability waiver is required, and guests must text us to check in and out.
Other Things to Note
We welcome well-behaved, well-socialized, vaccinated pets. Please note that this is a pet-friendly property with other animals on-site, so your pets must be friendly and kept on a leash at all times. Pets may not be left unattended in the house while you are away from the compound area.

Amazing host, amazing lodging. Fun for the kids and adults, but GREAT if you have kids. The kids loved all of the animals, bikes, and trampoline. Our kids are almost 4 and 8 and they had a blast. Kim was very kind and helpful. We would definitely recommend the breakfast option as well! We would be happy to stay here again.

This was a great place to stay. We originally reserved site #1, but it was hot and sunny so we moved to site #6 which was shaded and lovely. Leo has great amenities— hot outdoor (enclosed) showers, clean porta potties, soft lighting at night so you can make your way to the potties, clean trash cans, and lots of parking space. Leo was very responsive thru the app. We got woken up early by the free range rooster, but that was ok :). Also saw a bobcat walk past our campsite!! Definitely recommend this place to stay for folks doing day trips into Yosemite.

Beautiful property and perfect if you’re looking for privacy. We chose this property because we wanted a place where our dogs could relax without constantly seeing people or other dogs, and it was perfect for that. The privacy made all the difference. I loved taking my dogs on hikes without running into cars or crowds. It truly felt like we had acres and acres to ourselves.
Our favorite part was watching the little bunnies pop in and out of their burrows around the property. The fresh, clean drinking water was a wonderful bonus, and it was nice walking by the horses.
We stayed at Site 4 because it was the closest to the bathroom and drinking water. After arriving, we realized that was a great decision. I always seem to need the bathroom, so having it just a short walk away made our stay much more convenient.
One thing to keep in mind is that there are no nearby stores, so be sure to bring everything you need before you arrive. We also found out that the host is willing to share the Wi-Fi password.
Also, be aware that the pricing is per person, not per campsite. I searched for a site that could accommodate up to seven people and booked for seven because that was the maximum number who might attend. In the end, we had six people the first night and five the second night. I didn’t realize until I got home that I had been charged per p per person, so it’s worth double-checking your guest count before booking.
Overall, we were pleased.

My dog and I truly enjoyed spending time on Veronica's land. She's very friendly, the posted pictures do it justice, there was enough shade and plenty of open expanse for the stargazing I was seeking (some clouds rolled in on the second day, but that was lovely too), and the wild bunnies were absolutely enthralling for my dog. He definitely wants to come back and visit the bunnies!
It was my first solo camping trip, and Veronica did a great job of chatting me up for a bit at the beginning and putting me more at ease. I felt like I was getting away and camping on my own but like I wasn't completely isolated, which was good for me.
Looking forward to coming back someday.

Great campsite - almost like glamping, with an awesome outdoor shower, super clean bathrooms (portapotties) and kitchen sink to wash dishes. We loved the chickens - even though Mr. Sweatpants (what we called the rooster) was excited to wake us up in the morning. He and Ms. Henny were very friendly and added some fun to the whole endeavor. Site 6 was definitely the best - tucked away, shaded, and close to the stream.

We had a lovely stay at Windsor Family Farm over the weekend, with two families, us and my in-laws, and our two toddlers. The kids had the time of their lives running around the open field, biking, playing in the mini kitchen house, and getting to pet and feed the sheep, alpacas, pigs, bunnies, chickens, and tortoise.
The rooms were comfy, and we rented a separate cabin for the in-laws so everyone had their own privacy. Breakfast was fantastic and delicious, and for lunch and dinner we ordered from Morgan Hill and Gilroy, about a 15-minute drive away. The afternoons got a bit hot, but the nights were quiet and peaceful, we especially loved the bonfire and s'mores.
Overall, we loved our stay and can't wait to come back in the fall!

The site was really clean and well kept, easy to back into, and the power and water were in good working order. It was a quiet area with nice big trees and some shade, which was exactly what I needed. Brian, the host, brought us some cow treats to feed to the adorable cows, which we thought was a nice touch. Would 100% recommend.

This is a charming place. I stayed during July 4th weekend with my doggies to hide away from fireworks. The yurt is nicely constructed with a mini kitchen inside even a mini fridge. There is also a propane powered heater to keep the yurt warm at night. A great place to hit the town during the day and enjoy some quietness at night!
