Swimming in North Fork Tule River, miles of hiking trails on ranch. River Ridge Ranch goes from 1,000' elev. to 3,000' elevation. Hike right on the ranch. We are between Sequoia National Park (about an hour) and the Giant Sequoia National Monument (16 miles to groves up Hwy 190 and no entrance fee). Choose from individual tent sites, group tent sites, tiny cabins. the 5-acre Compound or the Entire Ranch. We occasionally host small, thoughtful, low impact weddings. Please inquire. There are 33 giant sequoia groves in our Southern Region of the Giant Sequoia National Monument, some easily driven to, and some remote. Our ranch is a nature preserve and an education demonstration site, teaching sustainable and regenerative land use practices. River Ridge Institute, our non-profit, hosts a variety of events for the public. Please note: you are expected to leave the ranch and kitchen area as you found it, i.e., dishes washed thoroughly and dried and put away, recycling separated from trash, food scraps in compost buckets, sticky marshmallow removed from forks and surfaces (ick!). Thank you. Enjoy: The Kitchen has a 3-burner cooktop, large fridge, microwave, full dishes and utensils and pots and pans with a big washing area in the back. Propane barbecue grill.. There's a River Barn to use as a remote space and Turtle Cove for swimming. Saturday morning Farmer's Market in downtown at 9 AM - Noon. Ancestral land of the Foothill Yokuts tribe. Homesteaded in 1859, owned by the Negus family from 1909-2000. Barbara and I bought it to save it from subdivision and it's now protected by a Conservation Easement and acts as a community center for the arts, music, poetry, gatherings and outdoor education. On site is a work in progress and you will see project sites not fully completed. We have a hammock veranda that is fully shaded and a great place to relax along the river. Miles of biking paths run on the road right by where we are situated and there is a nearby river rafting company if you want the white water experience. Most of our campers are road tripping, getting away from LA, or are looking for a stopover on their way to/from Yosemite, Sequoia, Joshua Tree, etc. We are in a desert climate – cold in the winter and hot in the summer. Portable heaters or fans with misting options are available for rent.

No other houses in view since we are located between 20 acres of almond trees and 30 acres of walnut trees. Very safe location with security in place.

OrangeRay, home of Pixie's Place Animal Sanctuary and Hospice was founded in 2007, when I left L.A. for the forest by the river to create, and to expand my shamanic pursuits. Being that Three Rivers was home to the socialist Kaweah Colony in the 1800's; which helped in the founding of Sequoia National Park; the area is rich in history. Poet John Muir was enchanted and inspired by this area; Walt Disney fell under her spell as well when he envisioned a "Swiss Chalet" style resort which never came to fruition. The water wars of California began right here; gold rush...right here! "Kaweah" is the name given by the Indians for the sound the Crow makes. Three Rivers literally sits on slabs of quartz crystal, making rock hunting superb! As an energy practitioner, the quartz heightens the healing process; as well as creating an energy vortex. My property sits on an area that was once an Indian village, and then the school house for the children of the pioneers. There was a huge Hare Krishna Colony up here in the 60-70's. As a photographer and filmmaker, the lighting up here is amazing! The night skies literally pulsate with their celestial canopy. A great spot to sky watch as well! The property is not kid-friendly, and is not really here for children as much as it is offered for the inner child in adults. WE ARE 420 friendly which is in opposition to most "family" landscapes....so please note this is not personal but I prefer no children xo Also, I prefer no pets, as it disrupts the balance here with the animal residents :) I share fresh eggs when available :) (The shower is not available to guest :)

Our home is 1622 sq ft with plenty of space to make yourself comfortable. As you walk into our home, you will see our open living room and oversized couch. You’ll then see our kitchen and dining room immediately. Our kitchen table seats 4, and we have 2 barstools in the kitchen for the bar area. Down the hallway, you’ll see our first bedroom with a Queen-size bed, the laundry room, and a hallway bathroom. Then straight ahead you’ll see our master bedroom with a bathroom, a walk-in closet, and a full bathroom with a jacuzzi bathtub. Our home does have AC/Heating by mini split units that are all new & purchased & installed in June 2022 and are maintained monthly. We also have 2 twin folding beds that can be set up in either bedroom or the living room. Purchased in August 2022 for additional sleeping. Ring cameras are located on the outside of the property. No cameras are inside. Enjoy a nice evening on the front patio, enjoying nature. A propane barbecue is located on the front porch. Absolutely no smoking on the property. Wildfires are common in the area. Three Rivers is a very high-risk area. Three Rivers has faced evacuation warnings in both 2020 & 2021 due to local raging wildfires. ABSOLUTELY NO SMOKING/FIRES ON/NEAR THE PROPERTY. BE ADVISED - Sequoia National Park has received significantly more snow and rain than normal this year (2023), which has resulted in some damage to some roadways within the park. Moro Rock View Studio is a great place to stay close to Sequoia National Park entrance. It was clean and well stocked with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Joe is an excellent host, very responsive to answer any questions we had. We would highly recommend Joe's studio as a home base to explore the area.

River Ridge Ranch is a deeply special sanctuary, and the Cottonwood Cabin is the perfect place to truly disconnect and immerse yourself in nature. While I took this particular trip solo, the layout and beautiful surroundings would also make it a fantastic getaway for a group of friends. The camper, the property, the animals and Wendi are all so wonderful, cannot recommend this stay enough. This was exactly the quiet reprieve we needed! Our only regret was that we couldn’t stay longer ❤️ Definitely go down to the river for a dip of the feet at least. And give the sweet kitties a scratch on the head for us! Thank you Wendi!!!!

The Squattage was a cute place to stay and so close to gorgeous trails! the owners put a lot of love and attention to detail in the cabin. They even provided an aluminum pan, tongs, and a pot had for cooking on the propane fire which we really appreciated! It's a nice mix of being in nature, but still being a part of a community with a great general store an easy walk down the street.

We had an excellent experience renting this Coleman RV. Everything went smoothly from start to finish. The RV was clean, comfortable, and very well stocked with all the essentials—coffee maker, pans, cutlery, paper towels, toilet paper, and more. Having hot water and WIFI available was a huge plus and made the stay even more enjoyable. Samir was a fantastic host—very helpful, responsive, and checked in from time to time to make sure everything was going well. He even let us use his grill, which was a really nice touch. Communication throughout the entire process was strong and consistent, which made everything easy and stress-free. I would definitely rent again and highly recommend this setup to anyone looking for a smooth and comfortable RV experience.

We arrived to a welcome greeting by the host and helpful guidance to the area. The room was very clean with great energy in the space and the land. Beautiful view when you step outside of the sunset over the mountains. The place felt very safe and it was very close to the park entrance which was fabulous. We used the bed and the pull out couch (which our son mentioned how comfortable it was). We had everything we needed, fresh clean towels, rugs, blankets, pillows, and coffee pods ready to use. I would definitely stay here next time I’m in the area. Thank you to the hosts for sharing your space with us.

The Squattage is the cutest little A-frame cabin I’ve ever been in! James is a great host and explained everything to us when we arrived. The lounge chairs outside were great to relax in after a long day of hiking! The location is great, close to the trail of 100 giants and the rest of Sequioa NP. Definitely recommend and hope to visit again soon!

Samir was a great host— the rv was perfectly stocked with heat, a clean kitchen, warm linens and towels. It was a close location to the park and a great stay for a weekend. I did not recognize that the water heater was controlled by the gas and you must turn it on/off outside as well as inside. So pro tip!

Weekend Trip to Sierra Ranch - Cabins & Tents

Gary was an excellent host. The ranch is absolutely incredible scenery, a perfect writing retreat! I was comfortable in the cabin I chose and I felt safe on the property. The camp has Gary’s installation art scattered throughout, a community center with shared kitchen and a large fire pit. There’s nice trails and easy access to the creek. Planning my next escape here as soon as I can! Thanks Gary!

Would stay again. We arrived late at night and were plenty of spots open. There was a self pay station that was easy to use and you can pay nightly for your spot. There is a list of the reservations on the board next to it so you don’t pay for a spot someone has reserved. The bathrooms and showers were cleaned daily. Showers were also free and quick to warm up. The only negative note is coming in at night was a little spooky. You go through the historic town on the way to the campground and there’s no towns near by. The train often stops on the tracks going in and out but thankfully there is a way around.

John Whitehead Jr Campground

This is a convenient place to camp when travelling through the area since there isn't many other options around. Don't forget your mosquito repellent and watch out for bunnies and field mice when driving by night! Amenities are great, showers are free and clean.
