Trails wind throughout the property, including a small creek and endless opportunities to explore. The trailhead is located just south of Site A.
We’re conveniently located just a few miles from Tyler State Park, where you can swim, bike, or rent paddleboats, and the Caldwell Zoo, known as one of the best small zoos in Texas. Shopping, museums, and great food are close by, along with unique stops in nearby Lindale—like Miranda Lambert’s Pink Pistol boutique.

Main House Layout: First Floor: There are two bedrooms with king-sized beds. One of these rooms also has a sofa bed. There's also a TV room with another sofa bed. Additionally, two folding beds are available on this floor.
Second Floor: There is one bedroom with a queen-sized bed and a pop-up trundle bed (equivalent to two full-size beds). In the living room, there's another sofa bed.
The house is set up to comfortably accommodate three couples, each with two children. There’s a gas barbecue grill and outdoor dining tables — perfect for a small family celebration or a quiet evening meal. The grounds were lovely and I was pleased to have easy electricity and water at my site.
When I used the bathroom this morning before leaving I was INCREDIBLY impressed with their attention to comfort and coziness for this area that could have been a bare bones port-o-potty. Instead, it was air-conditioned, immaculate space that also had a beautiful sink in it.
I would absolutely go back, as it was easy to get to and very quiet.

Everything here was exactly what i expected!! I loved it here! Caught A LOT of bass and ate so many s’mores ! This place was a 10/10 view, shade, RR access, lots of trees and enough of camping space for tents . Also Rustin was so cool

i loved tent camping at blackberry pines with my group of six. we were the only ones camping on the land; it was good to have the whole spot to ourselves. i only spoke with brock shortly; he was kind and saw to it that all our needs were met.
brock does live on the land, but his house is about 1/3 mile away from the campgrounds. that is also where the water tap and portapotty are, so i think it would be best to bring your own water cooler. i like that we could gather firewood and choose our own spots to set up shelter.
the disc golf course was amazing. i liked golfing throughout the tall trees which gave us a lot of shade. it was great to have the far, mid, and near tees since some of us were newer to disc golf. there are 20 holes, and a putting course, so there is a lot to do.
we had a great time, and i would tell others to camp here.

This was my first solo camp and Linda offered a safe and secure landing space to do this. I enjoyed my experience among her wooded acreage. The lake across the street is a wonderful place to kayak which is offered as part of the experience. I now feel more confident building fires thanks to Linda and her Grandson's assistance :)

Very nice camping area! We loved the little picnic tables and the beautiful view by the pond. Christopher was very helpful, even though we are need up arriving pretty late due to traffic, and we couldn't figure out where the sensor for the gate was to get out in the morning.

Nice little area! Enjoyed our time here. Playground with plenty of stuff for kids, nice bathroom and an outdoor shower with hot water.
Tent Site A was very secluded and a short walk to the bath house and was next to the trail and just across the road from the playground. It could use a dedicated tent pad, the spot where a tent would go seemed like the area where water would run. We ended up pitching on the asphalt pad to avoid any issues cause a slight chance of rain was possible. Just a short drive from basically everything in Tyler. Would stay again for sure.

I had a great time there. It’s nice and quiet, the trees are fantastic, and I the host was helpful in suggesting places to go hiking. I was able to use my mobile charging cord with the RV hookup to charge my EV.

Overview
About
Set in the piney woods between Dallas and Shreveport, this popular park features nearly 1,000 wooded acres, a 64-acre lake, and more than 13 miles of hiking trails, mountain biking trails, and nature trails. On the water, try swimming, paddling, boating, or fishing for bass, catfish, and crappie. Amenities include a boat ramp, three fishing piers, a bathhouse, and a swimming area. The park is also home to historic Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) buildings, lovely picnic areas, plenty of wildlife, and ranger-led programs. Several campgrounds offer more than 120 sites for campers, including tent camping sites, full hookup RV sites, cabins, and screened shelters.
Notable campgrounds
- Best for lake views: The aptly named Lakeview Camping Area offers sites right on the lakeshore.
- Best for RVs: The Big Pine Trailer Area is only for motorhomes, providing water, sewage, 50-amp electric hookups, picnic tables, and fire rings.
- Best for comfort: Six cabins offer beds, air-conditioning, heat, a microwave, and a refrigerator, but no bathrooms, full kitchens, or linens.
Tips for snagging a campsite
- During peak season, plan to make a reservation as soon as you know your dates. Campsites, cabins, and screened shelters can be reserved up to five months in advance.
- If your plans are flexible, try to visit during the week, during non-holiday periods, or over winter. The park is open year-round.
- If you don’t have an advance reservation, arrive at the park first thing in the morning for a chance at any unreserved spots.
When to go
The park is busiest from March to Thanksgiving. Spring is a great time to view wildflowers and flowering trees, while fall brings good leaf-peeping. Spring and fall are also when you might spot migrating birds. Winters are mild and short here, making it an uncrowded time to visit. Campsites require two-night reservations for weekends and three nights for Labor Day and Memorial Day weekends. Boat rentals are available year-round, but not on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from Labor Day to Memorial Day.
Know before you go
- The park store rents canoes, kayaks, paddleboats, bike boats, and johnboats, and sells snacks, gifts, toys, camping supplies, and fishing supplies.
- There’s a 5 mph speed limit for motor boats. Fishing licenses are not required if fishing from shore, though they are required if fishing from a boat. Fishing gear loans are available.
- Bring your binoculars for birdwatching, as more than 200 species of birds have been spotted in the park.
- Pets are allowed but not in the Creekside Camping Area or any park buildings, including cabins and screened shelters.

Lots of trails to hike! Plus a swimming area, canoe & paddle boat rentals, convenience store. I read online you can also rent fishing gear. Typical State Park where campsites are fairly close to each other and bathrooms are a little bit icky. The park was pretty booked, but it didn't feel too crowded on the trails, roads, campgrounds or bathrooms.

Stayed in #119 during an unseasonably warm January. Not as nice views as 126 or 124 but provided some distance from neighbors and still close to restroom. Trail around the lake is nice as were park personnel. We could occasionally hear noise from the cabins across the lake from site 119, but it was really minor.
