Directions were easy to follow and the roads in weren’t bad at all. I stayed at Coyote Corner and it’s a nice open area with plenty of space to set up camp. There was a lot of wildlife around—saw turkeys and deer throughout the stay, which made it even better. The weather was perfect and having a full moon at night really added to the experience. My one-year-old Aussie was definitely stimulated the whole time in a good way and loved exploring. The host was very informative and helpful, which made everything smooth. I’ll definitely be back and plan to try the other site next time.

everyone in my group loved the location and the proximity to the water! they arent kidding when they say youre across the street from the beach. not super secluded during the day since theres other people on the beach or walking by a lot and theres only a chain type fence but we were the only campers and had the whole property to ourselves which was very nice:) our host was very quick to respond to all of our questions and super friendly and helpful in doing so. my brother said its his favorite spot we been to so far! beautiful place to spend a night or two

Weekend Trip to Rockport RV Resort By Rjourney

We stayed for just one night, but had a great experience overall. The park was very quiet, and we felt safe throughout our stay. There were quite a few amenities available that we definitely would’ve taken advantage of if we had more time. A couple of things to note: our site was toward the back of the park (not sure if the front sites are the same), and it was very uneven, which made leveling a bit challenging. Also, we didn’t receive any email or in-app message with our site assignment. We arrived shortly after the office had closed, and when I called for help, the response made me feel a little silly for asking—even though we genuinely didn’t know where to go. Overall, still a positive stay, just a few areas that could be improved for a smoother arrival experience.

This spot is so private, light pollution is so low the stars are stunning. The fish are active and jumping in the marshes. Birds everywhere. The beach is just across the property. Host is prompt and very nice. We absolutely would come back to this spot Two adults and a pomeranian in a tent. Be aware its native wild property, there are pokey things for your dogs paws and its humid as heck from about 9pm-8am

When you feel the gulf breezes, you know you've made it to Goose Island. Nestled near St. Charles and Aransas Bays, this Texas state park is all about the water. We're talking boating, kayaking, fishing, and birdwatching along the coast. The only thing you can't do is swim. (Sorry.)

That said, there's plenty of luck to be had on the 1,620-foot fishing pier. A boat launch and kayak/canoe launch are also available. Remember to bring your own boat! No stay is complete without visiting the main attraction—a 1,000-year-old oak lovingly dubbed The Big Tree. (Don't worry, it's still standing strong in the wake of Hurricane Harvey.)

The campgrounds include 44 bay-front sites and 57 shaded oak sites. Bonus: both camping loops feature restrooms with showers. You can also choose from 25 rustic walk-in sites and a group camping area. Just be sure to check with Texas Parks and Wildlife before you travel. Closures due to hurricane damage are a bummer, but they happen.

Wooded Area Loop Campground

Beautiful south Texas coastal campground. Has showers and restrooms. We tent camped in a space with light and water. Did some fishing during the day. Nice hiking trails to keep you active with friends and kids. We really enjoyed our stay. Nice secluded spots.

We enjoyed camping here... although we came in August and it was HOT. Would definitely not recommend tent camping in the dead of Texas summer. :) These sites don't have beach access, although you can visit the beach by driving a short 5-10 minutes. The sites are great and you can feel the breeze off the water which is a nice reprieve from the heat. Rockport is a great town!
