It is built with salvaged materials from nearby painted lady Victorian home that are the pillars at the entrance and the siding is from a nearby barn. The sliding door as you enter is a salvaged US Federal Building Door that glides on barn rails and it has the original mail slot in the door. The retreat is an indoor/outdoor experience as there are two walls that feature beveled shutters that open and the roof is a see through experience to watch the birds, wildlife and stars. There is a small cabinet outfitted with slippers to slip on and take the path to the garden pergola - the swinging twin bed or the main house. GeerCrest Farm was settled by the Geer family in 1848, and is still owned and stewarded by the family. The house Ralph and Mary Geer built in 1851 stands and is one of the oldest in Oregon to remain in the same family. The farm features creeks, forests, pastures, orchards and gardens as well as the historic buildings. Currently we have four friendly sheep and a small flock of Mallard ducks to keep us company. The Pioneer Memorial Orchard features over 50 vairieties of pre 1850 apple trees. The Heritage Grove has ten fruit and nut trees that were recognizeds as a memorial the the early pioneers of the nursery trade by Oregon Heritage Tree program. The 20 acre property, offers three tent camp sites Including the Tree House site, as well as two forest cabins and a small forest bunkhouse (sleeps 6). Our peaceful, small farm offers a reflective immersion in nature and history among the occasional quacking of ducks and baaas of sheep. The scenery from all corners of the farm is incredible - a favorite is the westward view of the valley pasture at sunset -- called "Homer's View" after famous political cartoonist and Geer descendant, Homer Davenport. No matter which camping site you choose, the sounds of the creek, pond frogs, or conversing owls are sure to lull you to sleep. Feel free to roam the farm, but always leave gates as you find them, open or closed. Please say hello to our sheep and barn cats (they may say hello first). Explore the Heritage Grove of historic trees, the Memorial apple orchard and pear glade with varieties circa 1840s, indulge your senses in our medicinal herb garden, and chat with our farm family while they water the veggie gardens, if you so wish! We had fun staying at Michelle's property. It was a nice little getaway for my son's 12th bday. Michelle was very accommodating and welcoming. She also shared a lot of great information about animals in her property especially horses. We learned so much from her and we are thankful for that. Our family got to experience riding Sacred before we checked out today and she was amazing with my kiddos. We are definitely coming back to try trail ride. We had everything we needed during our stay in Michelle's place and we could not asked for more.

My extended family (4 grown children, spouses, 3 toddlers and 2 dogs!!) enjoyed using both of the sites on Sarah's property. What a special place!! A delightful little cabin, beautiful scenery, SO many amenities (hammock, clean porta-potties, tables, campfire, crab pots for rent, the list goes on and on) and I have NEVER met a more responsive and accommodating host. Having both sites was ideal for our large group - but on the final night I was there by myself in the remote tent site and that was DIVINE. Quiet and peaceful; frogs chirping, birds singing. I can't wait to come back!

Great location, even being on the property, it was very private and secure. The amenities are great, full bath, running water and abundant hot water. The cabin us well made. The land is spacious with areas to walk around and still have privacy.

Weekend Trip to Sweet Relief

Absolutely lovely stay on this gorgeous piece of property, no more than 25 mins from our house in PDX. We probably took 6 baths in 3 days, couldn’t get enough of the wood fired tub. Had everything you could possibly need and nothing you don’t. Trent and Amy were fantastic hosts, making sure we had the best stay. We will be back!

Weekend Trip to The Retreat at Cannon Beach

Cute cabin! We were not expecting such a fun and convenient location. Only thing to mention is there is not much in the way of cooking pots and pans so if you plan to make meals, you may want to bring bigger ones. Shower pressure was great, and the fire pit with picnic table was perfect for our family. We will be back!

They put a lot of thought and care into curating the space and the land around them so their guests are comfortable and have everything that they need.
