We live on 10 acres of mixed forest and field. In the summer we have an active blacksmithing school and flower farm here. The idea of a sustainable, self reliant lifestyle has always been part of our life and passing it down to others is a joy for us. Our Cabin and structures were built primarily of materials that were recycled or milled on site. which makes them warm and inviting. The Cabin is located close to our shop which houses an active blacksmithing school in the summer months where the rest of the structures are separate and in an area tucked away on the edge of the woods.
Jeffrey and Betsy work to make your stay as welcoming as possible. Please note there are no pets as the wildlife could be disturbed..both human and otherwise, thanks. We maintain a small orchard of fruit trees, a garden which feeds us year round and a small flower farm on the property. Avid skiers, bikers, paddlers and hikers, offering the property for others to enjoy was a conscious decision made when planning all of our infrastructure. The tipis are equipped with a queen-sized air mattress and bedding, a power box and lighting and a table and chair. You have access to picnic tables, a fire pit and a good selection of yard games like croquet and corn-hole to name a few.
The acreage is surrounded on three sides by Ashley Creek and boasts a unique covered bridge and awe-inspiring grandmother Willow trees.
Beautiful downtown Kalispell is an easy 10-minute walk. There you'll find local breweries with live music, a local ice cream shop, a variety of restaurants and shops.
Parking is not right next to the tipis, but we have a wagon to help get your things from your vehicle to your tipi.
Under the bridge is where you'll find our games, including croquet, badminton, Frisbee and Frisbee games, Bocce ball and Wiffle golf balls and clubs. We also have extra bedding and air mattresses in a secure chest.
Remember that you'll be camping in a field. We've done our level best to keep the tipis clean and clear of pests, but it is a natural environment, so there is a non-zero chance that you'll run across some dirt, grass, thistles, or a multi-legged friend. You might even get an unwanted gift from a bird. If any of that needs to be gone, you can access a broom and leaf blower on the bridge, or you can find one of us on the property and we'll take care of it for you. Thank you for your understanding!

The Mooseshroom is an awesome camping community that is just 7 miles from the west side of Glacier National Park. Community fire pits near the Commons are a short walk from whichever tent spot guests are assigned. The Commons also houses the bathrooms and inside/outside kitchen areas. There is plenty of seating, hammocks and picnic tables for guests to use as well. We also have two yurts available for booking on our property.
The Mooseshroom is a licensed business that is limited to hosting 18 guests per night. Guests should expect a quiet, peaceful camping experience with plenty of room to enjoy their surroundings.
***This property is adjacent Highway 2 and there is a fair amount of road noise. There's also a train that's fairly close. The noise kinda comes with the territory, guests are also 10 minutes from the west entrance to the park. The noise does tend to subside considerably at night, but for those bothered by this type of noise, you might consider an alternate location. Most guests are truly fine with it.

📏 LIMITS: Sites 7–20 accommodate vehicles/trailers up to 36 feet total length because of an access bridge.

This private parcel shares a forest service boundary on one side, and is adjacent the road on the other, but the cabin and RV are set as close to the FS boundary as possible and there is a large, 1 acre clearing with plenty of additional parking areas. Enjoy the forest service access and nearby Jim Creek with public access just across the bridge. Check out the pair of nesting Common Loons at Peck Lake. Get out of the tent and enjoy a cozy night inside. Outdoor string lighting and an adjacent forest service campfire ring makes your evenings something to remember.

Notes: There is plenty of additional parking, but no additional RV hookups. Tent camping is not recommended at this site, nor is outdoor cooking since there is a high density of bears in the area, but campers are welcome to stay and there is room inside the dry cabin for your gear! We had the yurt for 4 nights, very nice back yard, the yurt was awesome, you are close to a main road, so there is traffic noise, but it’s a great central location to hit Glacier and to check out whitefish, when in whitefish get the nachos and only the nachos from the craggy range, it’s literally a mountain of nachos and cheese and tons of toppings, probably the best we have ever had anywhere in the US, and we get a lot of nachos

We stayed in our tents at Apgar campground our first night in Glacier. 2nd night we enjoyed the Yurt experience. Staff was wonderful and kinds. Showers were great to have especially in the rainy weather. Location is very practical for West Glacier entrance. Double bunk was not much more comfortable than my tent air mattress but overall I would absolutely head here again in the future!

I very much enjoyed this site. It was nice to come back from a full day in Glacier and have a comfy place set up for you. The yurt was very comfortable to stay in and had a cute little electric fireplace. As a matter of fact, if you like a soft bed, it was the most comfortable bed I've slept in in ages. The cot is less comfy, but an extra camping pad makes a difference.
Pro: The host was responsive. Port-a-pottys were clean, in general. (see the con)
Con: No potable water on site (pack it in) and you can hear the highway (not too busy). The port-a-potty was not full but it must have sat there awhile due to being off season. Should be good during normal touristy season. :)

Weekend Trip to North American RV & Yurt Village
Great place to stay! We went with the yurt, and it was very clean. The facilities were also cleaned early every morning, which was greatly appreciated.
The road noise and trains can sometimes be a bit much late at night, but that is no fault of the property owners, nor is it isolated to this one lodging location. Everyone along this main road will deal with the same, so bring earplugs!
Huge bonus is that this place is right outside Glacier NP, so it saves you a ton of time instead of driving from Kalispell proper.

This place was awesome! Secluded not far from the park with great views. The hosts were super nice and very responsive. Listening to the rain pitter patter on the windows in the morning was top notch and the place is just absolutely adorable. Highly recommend and would totally go back

We spent 3 nights in the yurt here. It rained quite a bit and the temperatures got pretty chilly, but the yurt had an electric heater, that kept us more than comfortable. 2 adults, 2 children under 10 and our dog. We had plenty of room outside to cook and hang out. The yurt was thoughtfully arranged to feel plenty spacious and comfortable for the 5 of us. You cannot beat the location of this hipcamp. We spent 3 days in the park, but it is conviently close to Kalispell and Whitefish as well. We will definitely stay again.

The Stargazer tube was absolutely incredible! Perfect for me and my husband and the camping grounds were great for a nice walk around at sunset. Super convenient location to get into Glacier National Park quickly and lots to explore in between.

We loved our stay in the tube site! It was perfect for us, since we flew in and didn’t want to travel with much camping gear. Plus it’s bear proof! The on-site mercantile had everything you might need, including coffee, bear spray, solar showers, and firewood. Jake was super accommodating and even heated up water for our forest shower a couple of times. The location was also perfect for accessing the park, and we enjoyed free coffee (with our own cup) each morning. We recommend Josephine’s for dinner just down the road.

Please update your availability calendar as the campground is open somewhere around mid May to mid September. You have sites already fully booked for June. And reservations can only be made six months in advance on recreation.gov
Small campground ⛺️ with about 23 sites. Well maintained grounds and facilities by host. With easy access the the reservoir. With boundless hiking and recreational opportunities available in area.

One of the best spots near Glacier if you're looking to lose the crowds. This place has a particularly nice look in early spring, as snow still covers the ground but the greens in the trees start to show. I'm sure I will be returning whenever I'm near Glacier next.

This is one of our top 5 campgrounds. There is also plenty of dispersed camping in the area for free. Our private, wooded site had an amazing view over the turquoise waters of the bay and the surrounding forested islands. We haven’t seen a body of water this beautiful since our 2014 road trip that included Banff and Jasper National Parks in Alberta, Canada.

Rather than staying at the campgrounds before you get to Holland Lake, go all the way down to the trailhead, backpack in less than a mile and on the right (you may have to get your feet wet a bit but it’s worth the view and experience, you’ll see a little island on the right. Go down the steep trail leading down to the water cross some of the water and jump onto the island to set up camp. My husband and I did this in June. He fished while I read books in my eno. Got up super early the next morning to hike up to the Falls. Great place to camp!

Watch for deers the when going down the 8 miles from the highway, because they are numerous and will randomly jump out. Summertimes are busy so try to get there early afternoon on Fridays and you should be good throughout the week. This is a free campground!

I've lived in Montana for 6 years, and this place holds a special spot in my heart. It's one of those places on the list to bring people out when they visit. I almost don't want to tell you guys how awesome this place is! The mountain views are 5/5, the water is crystal clear, and somehow, some way, we had a whole section of beach completely to ourselves ON THE 4TH OF JULY! What?! Pretty epic, this place. There are lots of trails to hike, my favorite being up to Holland Falls. The view of the Mission Mountains is hard to beat! I've also had a couple bear encounters here, so bring bear spray and keep your food stuff locked up! I recommend bringing paddle boards, kayaks, or even a tube so you can float out in the water and admire the views.

Red Meadow Lake Campground was a pleasant surprise we stumbled upon while exploring some backcountry roads. There are a few sites along the lakeshore and a few further back. We chose a site further back in the trees for privacy. You would think with the lake being somewhat off the grid that you'd have the place to yourself, but we met a few bikers, hunters and fishermen who made their camp there as well. It is a beautiful spot to chill out and could thoroughly be enjoyed with a canoe or raft as the water is crystal clear!
