The Mooseshroom is an awesome camping community that is just 7 miles from the west side of Glacier National Park. Community fire pits near the Commons are a short walk from whichever tent spot guests are assigned. The Commons also houses the bathrooms and inside/outside kitchen areas. There is plenty of seating, hammocks and picnic tables for guests to use as well. We also have two yurts available for booking on our property.
The Mooseshroom is a licensed business that is limited to hosting 18 guests per night. Guests should expect a quiet, peaceful camping experience with plenty of room to enjoy their surroundings.
***This property is adjacent Highway 2 and there is a fair amount of road noise. There's also a train that's fairly close. The noise kinda comes with the territory, guests are also 10 minutes from the west entrance to the park. The noise does tend to subside considerably at night, but for those bothered by this type of noise, you might consider an alternate location. Most guests are truly fine with it.

The Second Living Unit is a well kept 2018, Jayco travel trailer with slide-out that sleeps 4 comfortably (up to 6), and has full utilities (water/power/sewer) and includes A/C, 3 burner range, microwave, bathroom with standup shower (5 gallon RV water heater), outdoor shower, private master with RV Queen mattress. The rear living setup allows for a large living/dining/kitchen area. The futon folds down into a full bed, and the dinette drops into a double futon 4” pad for extra campers or sleeping separately.
This private parcel shares a forest service boundary on one side, and is adjacent the road on the other, but the cabin and RV are set as close to the FS boundary as possible and there is a large, 1 acre clearing with plenty of additional parking areas. Enjoy the forest service access and nearby Jim Creek with public access just across the bridge. Check out the pair of nesting Common Loons at Peck Lake. Get out of the tent and enjoy a cozy night inside. Outdoor string lighting and an adjacent forest service campfire ring makes your evenings something to remember.

Notes: There is plenty of additional parking, but no additional RV hookups. Tent camping is not recommended at this site, nor is outdoor cooking since there is a high density of bears in the area, but campers are welcome to stay and there is room inside the dry cabin for your gear! If additional, covered storage is needed for 1 or 2 bikes, please contact the host for access to the small storage shed. Bring your bear spray. Store all food and trash inside the hard sided cabin or RV in the provided containers.

The Mooseshroom is an awesome camping community that is just 7 miles from the west side of Glacier National Park. Community fire pits near the Commons are a short walk from whichever tent spot guests are assigned. The Commons also houses the bathrooms and inside/outside kitchen areas. There is plenty of seating, hammocks and picnic tables for guests to use as well. We also have two yurts available for booking on our property.
The Mooseshroom is a licensed business that is limited to hosting 18 guests per night. Guests should expect a quiet, peaceful camping experience with plenty of room to enjoy their surroundings.
***This property is adjacent Highway 2 and there is a fair amount of road noise. There's also a train that's fairly close. The noise kinda comes with the territory, guests are also 10 minutes from the west entrance to the park. The noise does tend to subside considerably at night, but for those bothered by this type of noise, you might consider an alternate location. Most guests are truly fine with it.

The Second Living Unit is a well kept 2018, Jayco travel trailer with slide-out that sleeps 4 comfortably (up to 6), and has full utilities (water/power/sewer) and includes A/C, 3 burner range, microwave, bathroom with standup shower (5 gallon RV water heater), outdoor shower, private master with RV Queen mattress. The rear living setup allows for a large living/dining/kitchen area. The futon folds down into a full bed, and the dinette drops into a double futon 4” pad for extra campers or sleeping separately.
This private parcel shares a forest service boundary on one side, and is adjacent the road on the other, but the cabin and RV are set as close to the FS boundary as possible and there is a large, 1 acre clearing with plenty of additional parking areas. Enjoy the forest service access and nearby Jim Creek with public access just across the bridge. Check out the pair of nesting Common Loons at Peck Lake. Get out of the tent and enjoy a cozy night inside. Outdoor string lighting and an adjacent forest service campfire ring makes your evenings something to remember.

Notes: There is plenty of additional parking, but no additional RV hookups. Tent camping is not recommended at this site, nor is outdoor cooking since there is a high density of bears in the area, but campers are welcome to stay and there is room inside the dry cabin for your gear! If additional, covered storage is needed for 1 or 2 bikes, please contact the host for access to the small storage shed. Bring your bear spray. Store all food and trash inside the hard sided cabin or RV in the provided containers.

We spent 3 nights in the yurt here. It rained quite a bit and the temperatures got pretty chilly, but the yurt had an electric heater, that kept us more than comfortable. 2 adults, 2 children under 10 and our dog. We had plenty of room outside to cook and hang out. The yurt was thoughtfully arranged to feel plenty spacious and comfortable for the 5 of us. You cannot beat the location of this hipcamp. We spent 3 days in the park, but it is conviently close to Kalispell and Whitefish as well. We will definitely stay again.

We loved our stay in the tube site! It was perfect for us, since we flew in and didn’t want to travel with much camping gear. Plus it’s bear proof! The on-site mercantile had everything you might need, including coffee, bear spray, solar showers, and firewood. Jake was super accommodating and even heated up water for our forest shower a couple of times. The location was also perfect for accessing the park, and we enjoyed free coffee (with our own cup) each morning. We recommend Josephine’s for dinner just down the road.

Terri’s Yurt and hospitality made for a perfect base camp on our trip to Glacier National Park! The yurt and common areas were clean, comfortable, and well-kept. For two adults with a pretty significant amount of hiking gear, we felt like we had plenty of space. The quick drive to the west entrance of the park was a huge plus! Highly recommended!

Great accommodations if you're visiting Glacier as it's less than 10 minutes away. The front desk and grounds staff were very friendly, the yurt was clean and comfortable (#3), and it was really great having 24/7 access to the lounge and laundry. We'd definitely stay here again!

Weekend Trip to Cabins on Montana's Ocean
We stayed in both cabins and they were excellent! Felt like true lake cabins, no frills and fanciness. Also the lakefront access was amazing! Dock and beach access for the day and a beautiful fire pit at night. Would highly recommend!

Perfect spot for our weekend getaway from Missoula. Jake was available but not intrusive. The tube Hobbit Hut was a delight. We found bike paths nearby. Everything nicely maintained and lovely outhouses. Thanks!

This is the perfect example of Glamping. Cozy bed with amazing surroundings. Loved having a nice bathroom and showers to use. Dogs on the property that are amazing. Really sweet spot. Would stay again and again!

Terri and the Mooseshroom yurt were awesome. The yurt had everything from coffee to bear spray. The yurt had a porta-potty as well as a communal bathroom + shower room for the whole camp. Everything was clean and the host was very accommodating. All that plus being 20 min from the park entrance was so amazing!

Please update your availability calendar as the campground is open somewhere around mid May to mid September. You have sites already fully booked for June. And reservations can only be made six months in advance on recreation.gov
Small campground ⛺️ with about 23 sites. Well maintained grounds and facilities by host. With easy access the the reservoir. With boundless hiking and recreational opportunities available in area.

One of the best spots near Glacier if you're looking to lose the crowds. This place has a particularly nice look in early spring, as snow still covers the ground but the greens in the trees start to show. I'm sure I will be returning whenever I'm near Glacier next.

This is one of our top 5 campgrounds. There is also plenty of dispersed camping in the area for free. Our private, wooded site had an amazing view over the turquoise waters of the bay and the surrounding forested islands. We haven’t seen a body of water this beautiful since our 2014 road trip that included Banff and Jasper National Parks in Alberta, Canada.

Rather than staying at the campgrounds before you get to Holland Lake, go all the way down to the trailhead, backpack in less than a mile and on the right (you may have to get your feet wet a bit but it’s worth the view and experience, you’ll see a little island on the right. Go down the steep trail leading down to the water cross some of the water and jump onto the island to set up camp. My husband and I did this in June. He fished while I read books in my eno. Got up super early the next morning to hike up to the Falls. Great place to camp!

Watch for deers the when going down the 8 miles from the highway, because they are numerous and will randomly jump out. Summertimes are busy so try to get there early afternoon on Fridays and you should be good throughout the week. This is a free campground!

I've lived in Montana for 6 years, and this place holds a special spot in my heart. It's one of those places on the list to bring people out when they visit. I almost don't want to tell you guys how awesome this place is! The mountain views are 5/5, the water is crystal clear, and somehow, some way, we had a whole section of beach completely to ourselves ON THE 4TH OF JULY! What?! Pretty epic, this place. There are lots of trails to hike, my favorite being up to Holland Falls. The view of the Mission Mountains is hard to beat! I've also had a couple bear encounters here, so bring bear spray and keep your food stuff locked up! I recommend bringing paddle boards, kayaks, or even a tube so you can float out in the water and admire the views.

Red Meadow Lake Campground was a pleasant surprise we stumbled upon while exploring some backcountry roads. There are a few sites along the lakeshore and a few further back. We chose a site further back in the trees for privacy. You would think with the lake being somewhat off the grid that you'd have the place to yourself, but we met a few bikers, hunters and fishermen who made their camp there as well. It is a beautiful spot to chill out and could thoroughly be enjoyed with a canoe or raft as the water is crystal clear!
