This cabin was built by hand in the 1970s from white pine that was harvested and milled on-site. Our family purchased and rehabbed this beautiful cabin throughout 2021. Deer, foxes, coyotes, turkeys, owls, eagles and more are likely to be seen or heard. Explore, Banning, Moose Lake, and Father Hennepin State Parks which are all within 30 minutes, and return to the cabin to read, play games, listen to records, have a fire, and relax. The kitchen provides you with everything you need to prepare your meals including a refrigerator, small freezer, stove, oven, cookware, cutting boards, sink, seasonings, oil, and coffee. Water for washing is available from an electric pump faucet in the kitchen, and a brand-new outhouse is located steps from the cabin. The cabin is efficiently heated and cooled with a user-friendly heat pump and gets the cabin to your desired temperature very quickly. One campsite is in the prairie with a expansive view where 5 or 6 tents are possible. 2nd campsite is for one tent and is lakeside. Quiet peaceful trails through the woods. Animals at the home base (outside only). The chalet (in the pictures) , has all the needed amenities; shower, fridge, etc. No food or oil or gas or soap in the lake. These are comfortable, rustic cabins with NO running water (drinking water supplied). “Not "ADA" *Well-behaved, house-broken, supervised dogs, and older children welcome. *It helps us to know your ETA in advance and to update us so that we can plan our day as well! Once you are in the area, message us a bit before your arrival so we can meet you and set you up properly! If we miss you, follow the arrow on the wheelbarrow down the hill. Park at Dragon Loft at 1st right, and Raven Watch at very end of drive. *We have free range chickens and friendly border collie. Sometimes there's a dog staying at the other cabin. Wildlife is also in the area, so we require that dogs be supervised and leashed, for their safety, and our wild animal neighbors. No dogs may be left unattended in our cabins while you go out! Take your canine pal with you! Quiet hours: dusk to 7am. Also consider your dog's inclination for barking. We keep the peace and quiet of all of our guests in mind. *DRAGON LOFT has one double bed in a loft with steep ladder. Great for two people. Room for dog bed or kennel below the loft. Has a nice reading/coffee room, fridge, oil radiator, hot plate, WiFi, deck with table and chairs, patio with fire ring., grill outside. You have full use of the trails in our woods! *RAVEN WATCH is larger and comfortable for up to four people. Solar power, off grid (no WiFi). Double bed upstairs overlooking the pond, and another downstairs by the cozy wood stove. A cute little kitchen with a nice gas stove and wash area. Fire ring outside. Wood supply. Price based on two adults. Small fee for up to two more people +pets. Next to pond, creek and woods! Private porta-potty, no shower. We raised our children here, and over 45 yrs have planted trees and pollinator acres. We always enjoy meeting other travelers. While living and teaching internationally we looked for adventure, staying in a wide range of hostels in developing countries around the globe. This is my little slice of heaven, and I’d love to share it with like-minded folks who appreciate nature as much as I do. The mature cedar and birch trees are my favorite part of the property, but the young maples are beautiful too. If you’ve ever wanted to experience absolute silence, this is your chance. Lyman lake is about a mile down the gravel road, and you can sometimes hear loons calling in the morning and evening. You’ll also frequently hear owls in the evening and at night. There’s a fairly steep hill leading down to the cabin, but you can usually drive all the way down(Sometimes the hill gets slick after a good rain, I'll inform you before your arrival if you shouldn't drive down) There are a couple of walking trails that have been made throughout the property. This is a great location for enjoying all the incredible nature northern Wisconsin and Minnesota has to offer. It’s right on the edge of endless wilderness, but close enough to nearby towns and amenities that you can have the best of both worlds—seclusion when you want it, and convenience when you need it. -3.5 miles up the gravel road is a great restaurant/bar(Rellies Rusty Axe Tavern) -11 miles from El Jefe Mexican food restaurant -8 miles from a convenience store(Four corners) -12 miles from Dollar General -1 mile from Anna Gene County Park(hidden gem kind of a place)

We had a great getaway here! It was well kept and the compost toilet was very clean. We used this as our home base to explore local waterfalls and the towns of superior and Duluth. The wood fireplace keeps you perfectly warm in colder temperatures and stars were a 10/10!

We spent our time listening to vinyls, cooking good food, hiking around the property, and just enjoying being away from the everyday hustle. The host was incredibly kind, responsive, and made everything so easy. You can tell how much thought and care has gone into creating this little getaway. We left feeling so relaxed and already hoping we can come back again.

Had a relaxed and peaceful time at lil wooded cabin. It’s a cozy stay amongst many tall pines. Great location too, with easy access to local eats and grocery stores. Paul and Deb are great hosts. If I ever have the opportunity to be back up this way in the future, I will definitely return.

Weekend Trip to Bundo's Cabin

Great spot, the surrounding woods are pretty and there's a decent plot to stroll and lounge around. The accomodations were also comfortable, sleeping 4 of us pretty comfortably. Property is kept clean and trimmed. Loved our time here, would go again.

Weekend Trip to The Wooded Retreat/breakfast/spa

I absolutely loved my weekend at the Wooded Retreat! My little cottage was very comfortable and I loved the feeling of camping (glamping!) but with all the comforts of sleeping indoors (especially when it rained overnight!). The hosts were incredible helpful, communicative and kind, while giving me lots of privacy and space for my solo retreat. All of the cabins are very unique with their own personality and I will be back to try out the others! I also loved the Amish market nearby, and all the outdoor/nature options in the area.

WE HAVE VISITED MANY CABINS PAST 20 YEARS, FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE. EVERYTHING OWNER TOLD US AND ALOT MORE. I WAS UNABLE TO CLIMB THE LADDER TO SLEEP ON 2ND FLOOR, NEITHER KNEES WORK. HOWEVER WIFE LOVED IT. WE HAD AN AMAZING TIME, THANKS JON AND HIPCAMP. STEVED

Weekend Trip to Simple and Serene

Such a wonderful little cottage. Kathleen is an incredible host and so wonderful to talk to. Life there is a little more simple yet peaceful, conveniently located close to town yet tucked away and secluded in the countryside. I had a very peaceful time there and recommend it highly.

Weekend Trip to Rustic River Retreat

This was our second trip to the cabin and we had such a great time we extended our stay by one night! The cabin is simple, clean, and comfortable. The outdoor space is quiet, neat, and well suited to support both the cabin visitors and camp sites. The river access is perfect and the site it close to other fun things like Banning state park and the bike trail. Love it and we’ll be back!

This place has so much to offer! We are so grateful they have decided to share it with us Hipcampers! A good fit for families and reactive dogs. Mosquitos weren’t bad either for being so close to water. Would like to return during Fall!

My only regret is that we didn’t stay longer. We stayed in the cabin and it was perfect. Firm beds, clean sheets, and a pull out for the kids. There was also a bathroom with running (and warm) water a short distance from the cabin. The string lights kept everything very well illuminated. And there was a fire ring with a grate for cooking and a basic kitchen with a griddle. We are already talking about when we could come back! ❤️👌

We had a great mini vacation in the cabin. The hosts thought of every little detail. The grounds were beautifully kept and all the buildings were lit and beautiful all the way to the path down to the river. All the communication was quick and supportive. We highly recommend this unique place.

We had a great stay at the Singing Frog! Everything was clean, convenient and thoughtfully put together. The pond was serene and had beautiful wildlife - turtles, frogs, dragonflies to name some. We built a fire - thanks for providing the wood! The bread, eggs, fruit and yogurt were greatly appreciated. It was quiet, even though I believe there were others staying on the property. We would absolutely stay again!
