Where the forest meets the field. Unplug and relax at Bundo's Cabin with extraordinary views of wildlife and endless outdoor opportunities. The modern yet cozy cabin has electricity and features a front patio, an external outhouse and outdoor rainwater bucket shower, a fully equipped kitchen, a dining area, a living area, and a sleeping loft with a reading nook. No matter the season, this cabin is a wonderful, cozy, and clean, place to relax and unwind.
Feel free to roam around the 10-acre property and explore the 80 acres of state land to the north. Deer, foxes, coyotes, turkeys, owls, eagles and more are likely to be seen or heard. Explore, Banning, Moose Lake, and Father Hennepin State Parks which are all within 30 minutes, and return to the cabin to read, play games, listen to records, have a fire, and relax.
The kitchen provides you with everything you need to prepare your meals including a refrigerator, small freezer, stove, oven, cookware, cutting boards, sink, seasonings, oil, and coffee.
Water for washing is available from an electric pump faucet in the kitchen, and a brand-new outhouse is located steps from the cabin.
The cabin is efficiently heated and cooled with a user-friendly heat pump and gets the cabin to your desired temperature very quickly.
We are grateful to honor the Dakota and Anishinaabe people whose land we occupy by donating $10 from every booking to the Makoce Ikikcupi Land Recovery Project. This is such a perfect getaway! It was cozy (once we got the fire going which didn't take long), quiet, beautiful, and invitational. It was perfect for lying low and enjoying simplicity. The decor was also fun and meeting Naomi gave some added appreciation for the history of this place. I'm excited to visit again!

Weekend Trip to Crooked Creek Retreat
Crooked Creek was a perfect oasis away from the city. We really enjoyed the cozy vibes of the cabin, and the walking paths for us to enjoy. We were even provided orange beanies for hunting season, which we greatly appreciated as we went on our hikes! Naomi did a great job of making us feel comfortable and at home, and we would absolutely return.

We wanted to get out but could not find camping with our trailer so my husband and I stayed in the Little Wooded Cottage. It was lovely. The cabin is super small but really cozy. I loved the mattress! It was incredibly comfortable. The cabin inside had a small chair, a nightstand, filled water jug and a few other small amenities. Outdoors came with a picnic table, fire pit, outdoor lighting and private outhouse ( which we appreciated) This cabin is not tucked away like the other cabins, you are close to the hosts home, but we had full privacy from the hosts and other campers. The cabin is shaded under pine trees and some maples and it was very quiet and serene. You are also within a 20 minute drive to Banning SP or St.Croix SP. I would book again for sure.

2 nights at Bundo's Cabin
We had the best time! A few days of peace without anyone but the two of us. It was the most calming, relaxing and romantic experience we have shared since we met five years ago. They had everything including plenty of fire wood. We did burn what we brought but it never would have been enough. Being seniors it would have been better if more was split but we made do.
If anyone in your group is more than 6’ tall consider bringing sleeping for the floor downstairs or a big tent or just under the stars. The loft was difficult for my senior very tall guy. Again it was not a deal breaker.
We do plan to come again, next time we will figure out the stereo and the heater. I’m very technology challenged!
We will be going back for sure!

such a peaceful spot. the cabin is simple but with all the basic necessities and a few luxurious details as well. awesome to be so close to hiking at Banning State Park, wonderful to watch the sunrise over the meadow, good mix of cozy and wild.

Group trip
