This isn't a campground filled with organized activities or noisy neighbors—it's a quiet retreat created for rest, reflection, and genuine connection with the outdoors.
Our Day Pass is perfect for a relaxing afternoon, a peaceful lunch break, or simply a few hours away from everyday life. Stretch out in a reclining lounge chair, explore wooded trails, relax in a hammock, read beneath the trees, practice yoga, meditate, or simply bask in the sunshine. For guests wishing to deepen their relaxation experience, **private bodywork sessions are available by appointment**. These personalized sessions are designed to complement your visit by encouraging relaxation, mindfulness, and greater body awareness. The rustic cabin sits on a beautiful ridge. You will have a great view of the sky. Birds and wildlife watching along with listening to them.
The property is a second farm that has been in my family's history since the 1960's. We are a working crop, horses and beef cattle farm. We raise crops on this property. We have a main farm down the road that if you would like to visit, we can try setting that up so you can see the animals if you would like.
Please note that the cabin has a porta potty outside. The cabin does not have electricity, but an extension cord can be brought and plugged into the outdoor electric outlet. The cord can be run into the cabin to use the fan, lamp and electric skillet or infrared heater in the colder months. There is a water hydrant outside for bathing or boiling. The water is non potable.
We have direct access to the property for ATV/UTV's for the public road use on the back roads. You can travel from town to town and sight see.
The property is between two towns and is close to places to see and things to do, driftless area history, wineries, caves, hiking, canoeing, fishing, sightseeing, river, streams and more.

We had such a peaceful stay! When we arrived, we were immediately greeted and lovingly shown around the property. You can tell that there was so much love and positivity in every pocket of air. We stayed at the Eagle’s Nest, which was very private and had a wonderful view. To our delight there were hammocks inside too :). We loved the cows, birds, and frogs as well. We stayed in the Cabin, and, after being helped to settle in and given the tour, spent 2 days in the most pleasant and relaxing setting I've seen in years! Scott was very accomodating, and the property is very well maintained.
Just make sure to bring plenty of bug spray. The mosquitoes weren’t awful, until after a brief rain when the wind died, at which point we had to retreat to the cabin to avoid being ravenously dined on 😅
9/10, if you like nature, camping, don't mind the lack of powered sites, and aren'tparticularly shy, then head to JT Ridges, you won't regret it!

My wife has always said she did not want to give naturism a try but once we got there she was willing to. All because of the comfortable nature of our hosts and the property. There were some nice updates to the cabin since my last visit. Steps were added going down to the cabin rather than just a path. Other additions included a new magnetic screen door, a cabinet hung on the wall to hold your gear/food stuffs etc., some reading materials and a guest book, a love seat and table inside and a hand sink on the deck. There was a solar light added to the W.C. but im not sure it gets enough sunlight to charge because it didn't go on. There is also a new cloth fence heading down to the river sites blocking the neighbors view and an outdoor shower is now available for $5/5gal. All very nice additions to an already beautiful, quiet piece of property! And don't forget to book a massage! It is next level! I will definately be back...I think this is my new "Happy Place"!!

The Eagles Nest was a A+! 16 foot room had plenty of room for my freestanding hammock stand. Great view off the balcony, over looking the cattle pond, over the fence line. The sound of Bull frogs was nice to hear over night.
Scott is a Great Host! Spent one night at the cabin, then moved to a campsite along the Wapsi River.
Maybe he will build a Eaglse Nest 2 above the other Bluff. ;-). You have to bring your own sleep system. A step up from a tent, with screen windows

I stayed at the Eagle’s Nest. I loved the little cabin especially since no tent was needed. The front deck was perfect for cooking and the view was spectacular. Scott was extremely attentive to my every need. He met me and helped load my gear in his trailer which was pulled by his 4-wheeler. As much as I loved the Eagle’s nest, the riverfront campsites looked very inviting. Scott has engineered a rain water shower, so I used my solar camp shower to heat the water. Perfect! Give this place a try!

Scott & Kimberly were wonderful hosts. Upon arrival Scott offered to help cart my gear to the site with their 4x4 & wagon. The "cabin" was simple but perfect in every way. A nice balcony with a table & chairs and your own personal WC. The grounds are very large and easily walked with benches along the way to stop and take in the scenery of the rock cliffs, the Mother Tree, the pond and pasture, and several river vantage points. I spent hours lying in a hammock by the river with the sun and breeze blowing over me - it was glorious. I wish the weather had been nicer but it afforded me time to explore the local area with many state parks and sites of interest within an hours drive. A highlight of the trip was my massage. Truly a one-of-a-kind experience! I will certainly make it a goal to come visit again soon! Thank you for sharing your lovely property!

5 nights at Windy Ridge Retreat
this cabin was great! it's tucked into a hillside and very private, Sherri messaged with us right away and we met with her husband Jason shortly after we arrived. they are very nice and good hosts. there was plenty of firewood provided for the large fire ring, and the property was very well maintained and ready for us to enjoy. the cabin was very comfy and warm at night while staying cool during the day. two windows provided a nice cross breeze and while it did get down to 30° one morning during our stay we did not need to use the woodstove or electric heater at all. we did bring a 50' powercord to be able to use my partner's cpap and that worked very well. its glamping, but not so much it doesnt feel like camping still, if that makes sense? the sky is large with plenty of stars to see, the birdsong was wonderful with alot of different birds including one very physic woodpecker that entertained us with his antics. the cabin is close enuff to town to run in quick if you need anything or would like to have a bite to eat at the diner cafe there, but the setting is all countryside. there are several public lands nearby to explore hiking or boating and we also enjoyed taking drives along the atv utv routes some blactop some gravel roads that led thru some incredibly scenic forested hollows, valleys, and ridgetops in the area. if you want to cabin camp in privacy windy ridge is a good choice!

It was awesome! Scott & Kimberly were very kind! They were also very flexible on just about everything! They have but a lot of effort to allow others to enjoy their land! They have thought of everything! I mentioned to Scott that the flies were bothering my wife it was very soon after there was a fly trap hanging in the tree! The campsite was very relaxing with the river right there and the birds singing!

What a perfect getaway! Sherri & her husband were so inviting - if you love a personal host look no further! The cabin was literally perfect, cute, warm and cozy. Only minutes from town if you need to pick up essentials, but Sherri’s cabin is stocked with everything you need. We enjoyed the peace and quiet and absence of city lights. We couldn’t have better things to say!
