Meta Manor will be added to our list of favorite rentals. The home is spacious and gorgeously decorated with antique furniture and intricate wall art. Everything we could have possibly needed was provided. Morning coffee on the large upstairs deck overlooking the lake was heavenly. The lake itself was breathtaking. Clean and calm with lots of kayaks, canoes, and boats to go out and enjoy! We loved the “turtle tour” and letting our toddler try fishing for the first time. Our stay was filled with good vibes and beautiful scenery. 5 stars all the way!!

We enjoyed tent camping at St. Babs Retreat. The site was pet friendly. Our camp site was on the beach of the lake along with our camp fire. There was a flushing toilet, and the host provided a building full of various camping supplies that were available for us to use. St. Babs is close to alk major shore beaches and boardwalks

Such a unique interesting cool place! Lots of spots to stay, to explore, to build fires, boats to take on the gorgeous rectangular lake, strange garage full of junk for the taking, outdoor showers to bathe your bum! We stayed in the small painted RV, which had hose cold water, hot plates, and fridge & microwave. Byo blankets and sheets and pillows. It was safe and peaceful. The edge towards the kitchen was sloped down a bit. I’m not sure if it’s suitable in winter unless there’s a functional heater. But even a small space heater would likely heat that little RV up quick. Nothing original in the RV seems to work, except the pipes, so I doubt there’s a functional A/C for summer. For fall, it was just right. Loved the paddle boat, loved the location to beaches (10-15 min to N Wildwood and 20 to Cape May). Also really appreciated the clean indoor flush toilet and sink available. Only wish I got to meet the interesting sounding host (who’d graciously greeted my partner the night before when she arrived a day earlier than me). Hope to be back soon!! Can’t wait to see the larger RV when it’s ready.

This is a great concept and the location has lots of potential! The novelty of staying in an old RV was cool and worked fine for us. The listings could use more detail about each type of lodging and about the retreat in general, as the pictures show some old ones from a different location. We were a little disappointed that St Babs church wasn’t on the property, and though I selected the add on experience of the guided meditation walk/forest bathing, I didn’t get any information about how to make that happen. I was also hoping to find the cool canopies with lights on them and chairs underneath, as well as the chairs under an umbrella on the beach, but couldn’t see those anywhere. We had fun on the paddle boat on the lake, enjoyed a fire and stargazing on the beach, and the hammocks around the lake were great! The RV had water and electricity, and a working microwave and mini fridge. It needs a really good cleaning though, and be sure to bring your own pillows and linens! I tried both outdoor showers, and the water was the perfect warm temperature! The showers under the stairs was much easier to use than the other one. All in all, a really quirky, cool adventure. With a lot more upkeep, cleaning, attention to detail, and description, the potential to be a really amazing retreat place!

I enjoyed staying at the lakefront cabin! The lake was perfect for swimming, and the area was mostly calm and quiet.

We were extremely thankful for the amazing campsite that Will put us at. there are two tent sites that are on the beach and easy access to the lake. We had one of those. I would have been very disappointed to be at any of the other sites because either lake access is trickier, or the site is not private or right along the driveway. We greatly enjoyed our location and use of the lake and one of the kayaks. There is the potential for this property to be very crowded. I use Hipcamp to avoid crowded campgrounds. Had the site on the other side of us been occupied it would have felt like they were walking through our campsite. Had we been assigned there it would have been too small a space and has a little bank u must step up/down when coming and going. The people camping 20 feet from us on the other side used two flood lights and a music speaker until 3am. They were completely inconsiderate. Another reviewer mentioned road noise from GSP- we also heard a lot from route 9. Busy summer party area, sirens throughout the night. The fire pit was a circular arrangement of bricks that toppled over during use. There are other very nice places to camp for a lot less money. This was my 11th Hipcamp experience and the first one I wouldn’t recommend. I didn’t have a chance to hike- but not sure there are actual trails. If you are counting on that, ask Will. Also, the church and cemetery are not at St Babs- different location.

This is a nice hidden gem. We camped on the beach. They offer a lot of amenities. The host was very friendly and hospitable. The water was the perfect tempreture. Lots of birds to watch. Minutes away from Wildwood. Riding down the road on the property, there is artistic decorations on some trees. There's a shower and a bidet.

Lakefront Refuge RV @ St. Babs
my friends and i stayed the night and we loved the site! the owner is super sweet and the RV was great. there were four of us, so just the RV was a bit of a squeeze. if you plan to bring any more than 3 guests, i'd recommend bringing a tent or checking out another lodging option in addition to just the RV, the available boat is a great spot to reserve as well!

A funky place to camp by the shore. Swimming in the lake was nice, hanging on the beach was excellent during the day, buggy in the evening as expected. Frogs are loud but cool. You can hear the GSP but it didn't bother us. We liked our site right by the lake. Outdoor shower and indoor bath are nice extras. The owner, Will, is friendly and showed us around this property and the church. If you're easy going and don't need everything in it's place when you camp, I'd recommend it.

As a camping YouTuber; I like to explore all the different campsite around New York. I highly recommend this wonderful place. Will, the host, he gave us a site tour and show us the outdoor shower, well-maintained bathroom( it has a bidet even!) and he provided us firewood and spray slabs well. The site is right in front of the beach and there are kayaks and fishing rods free to use! Check the photos to explore what we had enjoyed here! Will come back soon! The boat is unsafe. You have to climb up a old 7ft. Ladder to enter. No running water,fridge,toilet,shower or usable kitchen. The boat is covered with rotting wood and peeling paint. Couldn't even open the windows. Filthy inside and out...

We did have a nice time for 1 of 2 nights. Opted to leave Saturday. Unfortunately the Campground was not yet ready for guests. The cabin itself was fine. It only sleeps 5. On the website the dropdown allowed us to reserve for 8. Campsites were not well cleared. The cabin was literally set on the side of the gravel road entrance to the property. 3 of our party had to set up tents in another area. There was no designated firepits. We were brought a donated Rusty chimanea. We did use it, however, a circle of chairs around it was in the road. We were promised a hot shower and access to a hot tub. Neither was available to out party of 8.
We were told the lake beach would be cleared for use/meeting,etc. It was covered with tree limbs & brush.
It is a promising location, but it it NO WHERE near ready.

Will, the host, made sure via text that he knew exactly when we were arriving so he was available to give us a tour. The tour begins with, "Everyone in the family, hold a knot on the rope," so we could all ring the bell in the church. My nine and eleven year old children felt like VIP's the entire time, and that is exactly what the host called them. "What song would your family like to hear played in this church?" And on and on!
Additionally lovely is that Will supports local artists and the community.
The grounds and church are in a wonderfully central location. We explored new beaches, while still going to places in Wildwood/Cape May that we know from years past.
I plan to return and want to continue to support this host and his big-hearted pursuits.

We had a most enjoyable experience here! You may think staying at a cemetery and in a tent at that is a little odd but it was really quite a fun stay! Will is a great host, friendly and engaging, he makes sure you feel comfortable and have everything you may need to make your stay great. Family friendly as well. There was a mom and her two children there and Will sat with them and talked with the kids listening to them and making them feel at home away from home. The outside shower is a delight! Hot water and great water pressure and give the allure of being out in the open while providing a private space. We will be back for sure!! This place is a gem!

We didn't get to stay due to crappy Memorial Day weekend weather but the hosts were so concerned about us (we planned on trying to come and tent camp anyway) and worked with us for alternative options. Next time I plan to camp near the beach I will definitely rebook here!
