Stay on an Old Trout Farm around the pond and listen to the water flow through the property. The property looks out to the Mission mountain range and campers can drive right to their spot. We have shaded tree spots and glamping with a community kitchen and outdoor shower. There is potable water fill up, wifi, and firewood upon request. Its best to show up for sunset (before dark). Plus, on way out you can bypass the 93 highway new road construction by taking crow road west past the iconic old barn and then get back on the 93 going North to Flathead lake or Glacier Nat'l Park.We are located in Ronan on the Flathead Indian reservation in between Missoula and Kalispell right off the 93 in the Mission Valley. Stay on our trout pond and listen to the water flow through the property. The property has been in our family since 1890 and we are the original founders of the McLeod Ditch which allows for a canal and creek to run water through and fill the trout ponds. I do have renters living on the property so two of the ponds are currently private property but you are welcome to walk up the road to the canal and forest area. We are only 15 minutes south of Flathead Lake.

Expensive but enjoyable farm

First, Mere's place is beautiful and overall my pup and I had a great trip. It's a mostly quiet area, offers gorgeous sunrise and sunset views, and plenty of wildlife coming through camp. The down side: several of the amenities listed were not available and that made the price pretty high for a dispersed tent site. The propane burner setup as the kitchen didn't work, the water for the dishwashing station was full of mold and not clean water you would want to use to wash your dishes (yes, I could have used my soap and the potable water to clean the container, but I wasn't keen to for a few reasons), and the setup for the shower water was dirty and full of debris, again making it not something you'd want to wash with. Had I known these, plus campfires, were not going to be available or allowed, I probably would have booked somewhere else that is cheaper and truly dispersed camped and saved the money. Mere left a friend's phone number to reach out to with questions or issues since she was out of town, but I felt awkward texting someone who was not the host to address these things. I was thankful to have electric hookup and wifi to make work a bit simpler this week, but a tad disappointing to pay so much for what I can get for free at a coffee shop. The potable water source was also fine for a refill. Overall, I probably wouldn't book again unless I could guarantee that the amenities that make it a more expensive dispersed site are available for the duration of my stay.

This is such a cute spot to camp! Tranquil, well planned, maintained grounds. Pictures really don't do this place justice. The owner was very helpful in offering suggestions for recreational activities in the area and responded quickly to questions. I would absolutely stay here again!

This was a gorgeous and quiet setting. It was well equipped with a nice outdoor kitchen and the ability to shower with a little creativity! There was lots of animal feces around so beware if you’re bringing small children. Overall it was peaceful and a wonderful stay.

Amazing, special, great host

This place is very special. The land you stay on is in a great location, has a beautiful pond and backdrop to enjoy and the accommodation was excellent. Meredith is very sweet and accommodating. She was helpful and communicated everything with me on time and made it easy to find the location. I wish we would have stayed longer! I highly recommend Meredith and her hipcamp!

Charming, peaceful homestead

Camped at Meredith’s well kept, beautiful place both on my way out/back from eastern MT. What a delightful place to take a break from driving and explore! There’s quite the welcoming committee…1st time there we had to stop in driveway to let a turtle cross the road, had a curious friendly cat pay a nighttime visit, and young cows came up to fence for scritches in the morning. 2nd time there we had just set up tent and a whitetail dough and her baby walked right on down the driveway. And of course the geese are frequent fellow guests in and around the pond. The creek trickles throughout the property to dips your toes in. Kids will love the little tucked away and shaded places in the trees that line north side of pond. And you can’t get much better than a backdrop of the Mission Mountains. Meredith was a wonderful and welcoming host (wish we got to hear her sing and visit her shop). Very thankful she’s willing to share her place with the rest of us. We definitely have this on our list for coming back and spending more time!

The campsite is in a beautiful location that is close to grocery stores, gas stations and other amenities. Meredith was very helpful and kind, allowing us to use the wigwam due to weather conditions not being ideal. There is a cooking area and water for washing dishes which was convenient and helpful to us. Definitely would recommend this place to anyone!

Something out of a dream!

Our stay at Mere’s Magic Trout Farm was incredible! We popped out tent up at the back of the pond right by the cattle field and every morning and night the cattle came and said good morning or night. Meredith was a wonderful host she really made sure to pull out all the stops and made us feel extremely comfortable and welcome. Our campsite was out of a dream and we couldn’t have had a more wonderful place to call home for the few days we stayed on our road trip. Thank you Meredith for the wonderful stay and hospitality, we will definitely be back!

Lovely views, near to Flathead Lake

We stayed two nights and would have stayed longer if we weren't moving on! We did not use the shower but the toilet was clean, and potable water was readily available. We also had somewhat reliable phone reception (both AT&T and GoogleFi). The property faces west so you can watch the sun set, and see all the lights come on in the valley. The pond is picturesque, too. If you're lucky, you'll meet a very curious cat!

It’s truly a magical place

Mere is a wonderful Host. Me and my wife stayed at mere’s magic rainbow trout farm with our camper van. When we arrived Mere welcomed us with yummy cookies. We were doing a 12 days road trip, we stayed in many places but this was the place we felt so welcomed and the farm is really Beautiful and just behind the farm you can see a Gorgeous mountain and there is a small pond where you can paddle a boat and there is a cooking area as well.. Mere briefed us so well about the property and she did a small tour for us. We highly recommend this place.

Magical beyond description

It's hard to describe this place simply with words. As described, Meres place is magic. A gorgeous pond sits center to a well groomed hunk of land with all sorts of nooks and cranny's to park, pitch a tent, and enjoy the incredible big skies of Montana. There is a super sweet cat named "Covi" who helped show us around the property. during dinner at camp, we ate while deer grazed the fallen apples just yards away from us. Mere was more than accommodating, and is an "above and beyond" type of host. We lucked out and had the whole place to ourselves, but could imagine this would be a wonderful spot for a group campout. there is a great community kitchen area, streams of water surrounding the property, beautiful horses across the field on the neighbors land, and overall, a lush landscape that is fit for a postcard. the sunset over the mountains of Montana was breathtaking, and the Stargazing at night is some of the best on the planet. groceries and camp supplies are within easy proximity, considering how peaceful and secluded the space feels. This space is so beautiful, it makes it hard to leave. if you stay here, stay a day longer if you can!

Not upto the mark

Literally, We are glad that the host received us the late night after our long hike.. The place itself was great being on countryside..However, there was only camp set up, rest of all we had to do..no proper water, if you want to use the water, you need to carry it in a bucket for any use..The water is not hygienic, the canoe which is pictured there in a small pond is full of dirt and mosquitoes.. Finally, the bare minimum kitchen, which has improperly treated utenstils . If the price was 50$, then we would have ignored, we paid 110$ for the amenities listed but they don't work..Yes, we are disappointed, we left the place as soon as possible without taking bath, without cooking anything!

Picture perfect!

Due to unforeseen circumstances we didn’t end up staying in the tipi but Meredith was extremely accommodating with putting us up in her other tent. The grounds were very well taken care of. The pond was gorgeous and a perfectly serene backdrop to the end of every day. Meredith was an amazing host and even gave us a private tea tasting at her new shop in town. She even provided us with a propane fireplace due to the fire ban than only increased our love for the place.

Amazing property, stay and host!!

Beautiful spot! We could pick where to pitch our tent on a wide lawn around the pond, gorgeous views of the mountain.s Portapotty was serviceable, and we didn’t see a tap for drinking/bathing water but might’ve just missed that—we had brought water in anyways that was plenty for one night. Meredith was super responsive and had some great recommendations for things to see and do in the area!

My kids and I had such a wonderful time staying at Mere’s property! Between playing in the ponds, exploring the wilderness area that backs up to the property and the wonderful treatment that Mere provided, we had all we needed to have a great time over 3 days here! I would highly recommend her place and would not hesitate for a minute to come back.

It was indeed magical!

We spent two night here and it was wonderful. All the running water and lush vegetation made this spot an oasis. It was nice and quiet at night and outdoor shower was nice to have.

Great place for family of 5.

Very quiet, well kept campsite on a trout pond with a small stream. We caught and released many trout and enjoyed a swim/float in the pond. Meredith and other guests were very friendly. Would stay here again.

Group trip

We’ve used HipCamp before and this experience at Meredith’s place was not what we were hoping for. The “sites” weren’t designated and we felt like she was fitting us into a spot that didn’t really have room for us. Right next to the only level place for a tent were two large anthills and there were ants everywhere. We chose not to stay. The canal was beautiful! The farmland was pretty.
