Flathead Lake Cherry Farm Camping

My family and I really enjoyed tent camping at Camille’s orchard. The directions were easy to follow and the views were stunning! We were right up the road from Finley Point on Flathead lake and only 20 minutes from Polson which is a super cute town with lots of great places to explore and eat. The deer were plentiful and I even saw several babies and bucks! I couldn’t ask for a more peaceful retreat!

Site 5 - Flathead Lake Cherry Farm Camping

Camille’s Cherry Orchard was awesome! The propery is perched on top of the Finley peninsula so the sunset views were wonderful and the setting was private. We had a ball picking cherries, watching the deer pick cherries, and we even saw a black bear. The hosts were delightful and answered our questions. We would absolutely book this spot again and highly recommend it!

Great place to camp, we were there during the harvest so the orchard was busy and the trees were full of cherries. They only charged a couple bucks a pound to pick ourselves. We’d definitely go back

Absolutely beautiful and great camping! Will use again, great spots, nice outdoor shower, pick cherries and not farm from lake. Spot 5 has a great view of the mountains and lake. Was the perfect place for us to stay at during the cherry festival!

Cherry camping!

Beautiful views and yummy cherries! Nice and quiet above the town and homes, open areas and sites well spaced. Outdoor shower was hot and great. Not great "farm" signage off the main road, and it is a steep loose rocky drive up...we used four wheel drive to pull our 20' popup camper up the drive. Deer and a family of foxes cruising around. Very lovely.

We loved this spot. We came in relatively late and left early, but we were the only ones camping here so it was completely private. Liked being able to let our dogs off leash (though one is a wanderer, so that didn’t last long for him because there’s a lot of space to wander). The outhouse was appreciated, and wasn’t super close but that allowed for plenty of space with great views. Would stay here again and recommend it.

Absolutely love this spot! Was quiet and secluded. Had a great view of the lake and it's practically a deer refuge. Definitely no cherries on the trees and they don't look maintained but would stay there again in a heartbeat. Highly recommend.

The written directions to the camp that the host provided was not adequate for finding the camp. The signs for the street and the name of the orchard were non existent. If I would not have driven back into Polson to call the host we would have never found it. I guess the sign was down for repairs but we were never notified. The property is lovely except that many of the Cherry trees have not been taken care of in a while. Also, for the price of camping it would be nice to at least have a picnic table at the sites.

Maybe we're spoiled by the beautiful campgrounds we have in Northern Minnesota, but this place leaves a lot to be desired. First of all, the road getting up to the place is horribly rough. The signs for the campground should be more prominent and there should be more of them. Once in the campground, the sites are not well marked. Someone was already set up in our campsite #7, causing us to have to reach out to the owners to request another site. The outhouse needs some TLC and maybe a battery operated light inside. There is no view of the lake, except maybe in the winter. For what we were charged, a picnic table, fire ring, and the other improvements I mentioned would have made a big difference in my rating. The deer were nice to see though.

Site 2 - Flathead Lake Cherry Farm Camping

Overall the experience was good. We were there during a heat wave and unfortunately the site does not provide any shade. Don't expect there to be lots of cherry trees around you: the trees in the orchard are very old and do not appear to be maintained for cherry production. The outdoor shower was great. The outhouse is a typical pit toilet. The sites are very close together and so if there would have been other campers it would have been not private at all. Did not see the host at all.

We had a good experience with extra large sites which gave every families their own space. The views are stunning and it’s quiet and peaceful up there. Windy. Site 2 has a pine tree for shade, site 1 is full sun. I barely made it up the steep and rocky drive up to the campsite in my Ford transit connect (not 4x4). I chose to shorten my stay because attempting the climb a 3rd time made me nervous. I found 9 dog poops on my site. The potty and shower are at a distance from the sites, not close to them. It was cherry picking season, but the orchard appears to be left unkept and the trees looked in bad shape. There was a ladder on one tree that other campers were using so I didn’t get to taste the cherries. I had no cell at campsite (T-mobile). Dry camping. Water was hot from a hose at the shower, not sure it is potable. No trash (other people’s dog poop took a ride down the hill!). About 1h15min drive to Glacier NP West.

The spot was great. Awesome proximity to public parks and town. I was not expecting the driveway to be as hard to get up, I’m glad I had 4-wheel drive. The composting toilet was a little rough and there were no lights, so hard to use in the dark. Shower was great, excellent pressure and plenty of hot water.

Site 2 - Flathead Lake Cherry Farm Camping

Oh, how helpful Camille’s son was during our stay! My camper van got stuck on the road in (due in large part to my being distracted) and he helped me get it unstuck, it wasn’t the easiest, and then the battery died and he assisted in diagnosis. He was a lifesaver!!!! Also, Camille allowed my son to keep his car on their property for minimal fee while we travelled in the camper van for a week. Know that there is a moderate grade to the driveway for a short distance and it’s a little rough for a short ways. May be a slight challenge for vans or RVs that don’t have adequate tires and only front wheel drive. Signage was a little hard to follow. The initial sign coming in doesn’t have the actual name of the farm but just a cherry sign with an arrow. Some of the other signs were not easily visible. There are holes that are not always easy to see in the campsites. Be mindful, my son twisted his ankle. Great shower and compost toilet. Nice to have potable water available. Look forward to the fire rings!

Site 1 - Flathead Lake Cherry Farm Camping

Overall, this was a nice stay. The spots are big, grass is mowed where you need to walk, it's clean, quiet and had great views. Loved that I was able to bring my pup, she loved seeing the deer and frolicking in the tall grass. The shower was nice as well. We did have a little bit of trouble finding where the campsites were, we missed the turn off when we arrived so I do believe a bigger sign would be useful. The drive way is pretty rough, I had no issues getting up it in my Crosstrek but anything lower than that I do believe would have some trouble. Also, we did see a brown bear right on the other side of the fence so be warned that this is in bear country!

Site 3 - Flathead Lake Cherry Farm Camping

My wife and I stayed two nights in site 3 with our pup and had a great experience. There was plenty of room for our ten person tent, our small cooking set up, chairs and our vehicle with more to spare for our pup to play and run. The site is in great location to Finley State Park which offers a public space to kayak or swim. The campsite is in a busier location, so expect noise for most of your stay. Whether that be at 6 a.m. with the folks watering the orchards around you or live music at the local Bar and Grill. It is as described and perfect for a weekend at Flathead Lake. Thank you to the host for sharing their space.

Camille was very responsive and very nice. The site was great. There wasn’t a fire pit so We couldn’t do a fire and that’s is pretty much the only thing we didn’t like. The cherries were delicious and camp site was great.

We had such an awesome time camping here! It was nice and sunny but a cool breeze from the lake made sleeping really pleasant! The site had a washroom and hot shower, and all the cherries you can pick! So lovely! There were also lots of deer around that gave us great picture opportunities. Also, the town nearby is very quaint, you can go for a dip in the lake and try their many huckleberry-flavored specialties! Thanks Camille for the great experience!

The Cromwell orchard is a slice of Heaven, especially in Late July when the cherries are plump. The views of the missions are amazing and the breezes from the lake are soothing. The camp sites are nice and grassy, partially shaded by cherry trees. The shower topped it off, we'll be coming back!

We really enjoyed staying at the Cherry Farm! We were the only ones on the grounds so we ended up staying in Site 1 which arguably has the best views. The orchards and abundant wildlife was something awesome to see, on top of towering Eastern mountain views.

My favorite HipCamp site so far!

Wow. Just wow. My pup and I were the only ones there. Spots 4, 5, 6 and 7 were all in the shade - a warm breeze was so nice after a day at the lake. If I had more energy I would have hung a hammock but I found it relaxing enough in my chair or laying on a blanket. Sites 1 and 2 had a view of the lake. Only one or two trees. The outdoor shower was the cherry on top. Camille was prompt with responding how to find it- glorious after traveling for three days! How wonderful to feel so safe traveling alone- open field for stargazing, delicious cherries for dessert and breakfast. My pup meandered around exploring and taking naps in the shade- after being on leash and in the car for days he needed this respite and relaxing night too. Would 100% return and recommend. What a fabulous group gathering place this could be! 🍒

Breathtaking!

It was beautiful! Perfectly secluded with the amenities we required: toilet, shower. The views were breathtaking and we had so many visits from the deer! It was also a great surprise to have horses near by as I’m a horse girl. Just round the corner is a really good restaurant that doesn’t look much on the outside but we are glad we went in! If you’re a self sufficient camper then this place is spot on! The one thing I would say is for the orchard sign to be a bit more on the road side if arriving in the night but we had plenty of day light so found it quickly enough!
