Enjoy a break in the countryside on our 11-acre family-run farm in Poolesville, Maryland. We’re a small family-run farm just off a scenic byroad right in the heart of Montgomery County’s Agricultural Reserve. We love sharing the beauty of farm life with campers, families, and travelers looking for a quiet spot to enjoy the slower pace of the countryside and connect with nature. Our dry lot is perfect for vans or small trailers. Enjoy a peaceful night under the stars with views of the alpaca and horse pastures. We have a pottery studio on site and depending on availability, you can take a pottery workshop on the wheel, handbuilding, or handbuilding with the alpacas! The studio is Sugarland Studios. The Space: Flat gravel area for one group (up to 6 guests) No RV hookups Seasonal fire pit access Farm-fresh eggs, seasonal veggies, and ceramics for sale Optional alpaca experiences: feed, walk, or photograph with them! Visit our chickens, horses, and veggie garden Our property is set in Montgomery County's agricultural reserve just off the scenic C and O Canal Byway. The setting is tranquil - be prepared to hear the soft mews from the alpacas, neighs from horses, owls hooting, sheep baaing, and chickens chatting. Essentials: Pets not allowed - we love dogs but we can't allow them with our animals Campfires allowed (in our solo stove bonfire pit) Potable water available (bring containers) Quiet hours: 10pm–7am Check-in: noon | Check-out: 11am There are many places directly next to us to go biking, hiking, canoeing, fishing, wine and beer tasting, and antiquing. We're a bike ride away from the Potomac River, C and O Canal, and Riley's Lock. We're next to Rocklands Winery, Homestead Farm, Sugarland Trails and quaint downtown Poolesville (we recommend visiting Locals for a bite to eat and to see the art).Horse Views RV site is a gravel space behind our barn with access to water and electricity. Heather’s property is beautiful and full of fun animals for the kids to enjoy. The surrounding area is rural, scenic, and close to the Potomac River. We had a great weekend!

Alpaca Tent Camping
Heather’s gorgeous property has several spaces as options to set up and camp out. We chose a flat spot by a tree in the back of the field next to the alpaca pen which was very secluded and peaceful. We woke both mornings to a blanket of fog and to the sounds of song birds waking up for the day and got to greet the alpaca and horses on our way to our car to explore the area. At night the crickets lulled us to sleep and we got to hear a barred owl in the surrounding trees! The location was very easy to find and Heather was super responsive and accommodating. Heading inside, downstairs, to the bathroom lead us through her ceramics space and we got to see her studio being set up for classes! The bathroom was clean and had a shower, and we were offered use of the mini fridge downstairs as well. There are tons of beautiful nature spots to visit in the area (Riley’s Lock on the Potomac has a beautiful pedestrian path, and Seneca Creek State Park made for a wonderful day trip) and there is great dining to be found in the nearby towns.

Alpaca Tent Camping
Amazing Hosts and property! Upon arrival, we were greeted and shown the farm which included alpacas, chicken and horses. Our 2 kids (ages 5 and 7) had an experience they will remember and talk about for quite some time. This new HipCamp not a far drive from the city will quickly fill up with 5 star reviews.
