Our little homestead farm sits out on the Illinois Prairie, in the middle of corn and soybean fields. We are a short drive from Illinois' largest Amish community in the Arcola/Arthur area. We are also just a short drive from Walnut Point State Park, which has fishing and allows small watercraft like canoes and kayaks. Lake Charleston is not far from us and allows small fishing boats, fishing, and there are great hiking and bike trails around the lake. Our farm makes a great base camp for those wishing to explores what East Central Illinois has to offer. We are also a great spot if you are simply looking for a quiet getaway from the noise and lights of the city. We have beautiful sunrises and sunsets, with very little to block your view, and on clear nights the stars are incredibly bright. We have 3 older horses who call our farm home, and currently they are our only livestock. They are too old to be ridden, but are fun to hang out with.

This campsite is surrounded on 3 sides by large pine trees, being open on the East side for a great view of the sunrise. This is a beautiful grassy area with lots of room to play or move around outside. There is plenty of room for group camping, if desired. You can see beautiful sunrises from this site, and on clear nights you can clearly see the bright stars in the sky. The sunsets are very pretty here too. This campsite is snuggled under our large Cedars, being open on the East side for a great view of the sunrise. This is a cozy area with room to play or move around outside. There is a rock drive to back into and set up your vehicle. You may pitch your tent in a couple different grassy areas. There is a small slide and cedar swing nearby. You can see beautiful sunrises from this site, and on clear nights you can clearly see the bright stars in the sky. The sunsets are very pretty here too. A beautiful, peaceful and relaxing place to camp. The family is also very warm and welcoming. Beautiful sunset and beautiful sunrise were my favorites! Highly recommended.

Tent camping was great. The cedars offer great rain cover and the host couldn't be nicer people themselves

Pine Haven Site #1 Tent/RV
It was a great night on Shannon's land. It's nice and quiet with great views for sunrise and sunset. We were lucky enough to watch storms pass 50 miles to the South, a firework display of lightning. My son and I were able to pick out stars including Orion easily, but there were other constellations very clear in the sky. The birds singing and horses in the pasture are very relaxing. The host provided good information before we came, was good about keeping in contact, but gave us plenty of privacy to enjoy ourselves.
